    Yes.

People have every right to devolve.

I'm not sure that it earns one self-respect, however.

You got it right. The only reason I even try to obey God is because I am left to believe that is what is in my best interest. Indeed, the only reason I try to be like God (good) is because I am left to believe that is in my best interest.

It's a good question. They're not doing themselves many favors, unless that is just the kind of audience they are going for.

I can recommend Aron Ra as a polite, well-spoken and very knowledgeable atheist. Armoured Skeptic has done a lot of YouTube content and is similarly polite and well-spoken. Aron talks a lot about science, whereas Armoured Skeptic tends to do videos responding to other videos of a theistic nature. Like this one:

I watched a couple of minutes of the video, you linked. I thought it was offensive.

I also looked at the first two minutes of an Aron Ra video*. That was much better. I don't know what value there is in people proclaiming that there is no God but no God, however... I think that people must learn, and decide, for themselves.

I can't say, for sure, what caused my disbelief in a God, but it happened while I was quite young (maybe 5 years old?). I was sitting there, in the Catholic church, with both of my parents, wondering how listening to some guy, speaking a language I didn't understand, was going to propel me into "heaven".

so this belief in the sky fairy is only thing preventing you from murdering, raping and stealing?...

that doesn't say much about religious folk or their religion...I'm an atheist and and I only live by my personal code of behaviour and I have no temptation to murder, rape or steal...

as 70% of the world is religious why is it in such crappy shape...why are the religious maga crowd so intolerant, that doesn't seem very christ like...why are there so many religious people in prison?...I think if there was a christ he/she would be very disappointed how the average christian behaved...

Sounds like the image you depict was designed to trigger you. And apparently it worked. I would suggest you resist the attempts of others to manipulate your emotions so easily.

Generally speaking, many atheists (or 'anti-theists' as I think is a far more accurate depiction of this specific subgroup of atheists) dont just not believe in, but hate the idea of a higher power, and think they can further their cause of quashing belief by denegrating it.
I don't see how... but apparently they do.

Every group has its vulgar folks. Hell, the Bible itself has more vulgarity in it than I've ever heard from an atheist group.

IF you really are after intelligent rational thought rather than just doing another pretend subtle athiest bashing you are looking in the wrong place. Try books.

It's easy to say "God is BS" especially when you have bad luck.
Saying "There isn't a God is BS" is seldom heard.
Maybe if you're high and looking at the stars, both God and no God are equally plausible.
I think atheists are just now (relatively) being tolerated and not being publicly flogged or executed so they are adamant and vulgar.
Part of being a Jesus Freak is being nice and forgiving the pagan blasphemer infidels for being so ignorant. They're going to hell anyways, right?!

then there the issue of all these christians voting for a man who grabs *******, admitted deliberately entering dressing rooms so he could leer at nude teenagers in his beauty pageants, has committed adultery numerous times, lies constantly...what does that say about christians and their christian values that they vote for a person like that, that's the ultimate in vulgar behaviour...

It might have to do with their own sexual fetishes.

deleted - just seen that my comment has already been made - that vulgarity is subjective.

Atheists seem to get a bang out of not just denying a deity but insulting and belittling anyone that disagrees with them.
That's why I respect Sam Harris but almost no other atheist I know of. It doesn't speak well for for atheists that tout their own morality.

atheists don't need to insult or belittle christians...christians do that all by themselves with their hypocrisy and behavior which is the antithesis of claimed christian beliefs and actions ...atheists are are happy to point that hypocrisy out for you...

"Atheists don't need to insult or belittle Christians" and yet you do it yet again. I don't need to say anything.
I just start atheists off on the issue of hypocrisy of their own perceived moral values as non believers in God and they go ahead and paint the picture themselves.

This says nothing about the issue of religion per se and that will never be resolved for believers and nonbelievers alike.
But it does point out what I've always noted and observed, atheists get off on not only denying God but also insulting his
followers in a needlessly crass and overly enthusiastic way.

It just drags you off your higher moral ground which you claim to hold.

I don't know how old you are claiming to be (and this is knowing that people claim all kinds of things on the internet) but we didn't have that when I was a child, shortly after WWII, not even in the Bible belt. Nice try.

Nice try my rear end as I was born in 1948
and the bible was read in home rooms classrooms of the Bayville ,NJ school system until the late 1950s to the early 1960s period of time.

So yes I as an atheist was subject to that nonsense for a number of years.

Christians have no problem forcing down the throat of school children their religion believes right out of the King James bible whenever they can get away with doing so.
