Not 'truth', just a nihilistic point of view - based on faith.

Oh well, I'm neither a theist nor a nihilist. I'll let you know if I ever get there, though :D

Because we have brains, thoughts, words. The ability to think, love, and build. We strive to make the world a better place to improve the world for our children and grandchildren. We do it for humanity.
What is so hard about that?
Now how does what you describe encourage nihilism? I don't see it.

If you believe that matters though, it's a faith-based belief, since according to the logic alone, existence has no meaning - so if someone wanted to rape or kill just for fun, there's be no reason not to.

A point which you have never proven... thus making your claim of telling lies to your congregation a compounding of the lie which you claim to have been telling.

You have already admitted to telling lies to your whole congregation, therefore, there is no reason to believe that you are doing anything differently here. You have not proven any point that you have brought up in discussion, so why not call everything out of your mouth a lie?

You being the coward that you are, you refuse to post the entirety of the paragraph wherein you claim that I said that nothing I have posted has to do with Christ. Keeping things in context is not one of your best attributes. However, telling lies seems to be your favorite way to pass time.

No! Your lies are really, really in this forum. Your deceit is written all over your reputation.

Prayers from God haters like you is not desired. My financial status is none of your business. (I know ... you were not talking about my financial status). However, chronic fabricators of lies are the ones that need help and need to learn to face reality.... reality being that lies will come back to haunt you.

It doesn't encourage any philosophy whatsoever. It dissuades dualism and most forms of theism, but it doesn't encourage nihilism anymore than it encourages hedonistic utilitarianism or various sorts of monistic pantheism. It's a mere statement, from which it's not really possible to derive a whole philosophy.

Similarly, the statement that "humans have an eternal soul, specifically different from all other things in the universe and that death leads to eternal stagnation" does not make nihilism philosophically untenable.

How about jail. Public humility. Death penalty if killing in some states. Punishment in the immediate and now life. And it hasn't stopped it and never will. Even with the threat of a possible enternal punishment.
By whose logic? Does existence have no meaning. Not mine.

Existence has no objective meaning, deity or not. If there's a deity that can violate logic, then existence is nonsensical anyway (due to the Principle of Explosion, because if an omnipotent deity can violate logic to make contradictory claims, then the Principle of Explosion would be in effect: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Principle_of_explosion ), whereas if the deity must follow logic, then there's no reason to suppose that the deity can impose objectivity onto other people. All life experience is, to an extent, subjective, especially relating to things such as philosophical outlooks.

    Prove this is my reputation.
Show a preponderance of opinion that I am a person known for telling lies.
    Not your opinion.
Prove that is my reputation or apologize publically.
The only one I ever read that calls me that is you.
Maybe your multiple personalities constitute a herd, and that is what you believe creates a reputation. Maybe it is simple garden variety megalomania.
I think you bought in too hard on those "Army of One" advertisements.

It always comes down to the happiness of the feeling individual, ultimately. We seek to be happy and to help others be so as well. There are of course exceptions to this among us, though, and it doesn't matter whether they're religious or not - people end up harming others intentionally. They may regret it later, but still they do it. How many of us hasn't caused harm at some point, for that matter? I have my own regrets, and they're thankfully in the past..

Love and happiness is what people look for. Some find it in the here and now and others need to find it in the supernatural.

Does this mean that you promote the notion of "if it makes you feel good, then do it"?

    Come on big boy!
    Clocks ticking!
Are you going to demonstrate that you have been lying or prove I have a "reputation"?
Man enough to apologize, or just completely devoid of shame or integrity?
    What have you got?
It should be easy to pull the myriad quotes of all the people shouting "lies, lies!!!" other than you if my reputation precedes me.

Actually, though I understand your position.....Belief in something with no logical construct seems illogical. I respect your right to think as you do....but based on logical thought, proven fact, and observed reality cannot agree or accept it.

This does not claim you are wrong....but it does state your understanding makes no sense to me.

    Nothing.
You have proven yourself to be a man of tarnished ethics.
You were so right when you said the things you do on PF have nothing to do with Christ.
    He is crying watching you.

We don't need a "preponderance of opinion" when we have your admission that you told lies to your congregation. Regardless of the opinion of others, your admission trumps all those opinions.

No apologies are due to someone who has made a public admission of telling lies to his congregation.

Your admission established your reputation as one who tells lies to his congregation.

We all do, really, though with different notions of good and bad, different set limitations and different sources of pleasure. Even the most devoutly religious people are finding happiness in their faith, patting themselves on the back for following the rules they think they must follow, etc.

Likewise, when it comes to causing others harm, we may do so and find different justifications for it depending on our worldviews. Christians who burn and burned witches are and were seeking to allieviate superstitious fear and follow what we in today's western world would deem a very misguided sense of justice.

Gee. You must think that everyone is compelled by your empty challenges, to do nothing more than sit at the computer waiting for you to say something. I have a life which sometimes calls me away from this noneducational
environment. So, your empty words about "He is crying watching you." are as empty as your integrity,,, which is weightless...zero... zilch.

Cool... then you just justified a rapist that is raping your daughter... and he tells you that "hey, it made me feel good". Nice show dude.

You took that long to admit you can't prove that I have that reputation with anyone other than you?

    rep·u·ta·tion (rpy-tshn)
    n.
    1. The general estimation in which a person is held by the public.

You have proved nothing except that you are a dishonest lout who has no integrity and lacks the humility to apologize when he has embarrassed himself.
Since you agree I lied to my congregation, you are agreeing inerrancy and traditional Christianity are lies. You have done it again.
    Move on, troll.

Oh... but it is OK for you to say "off to work" then come back posting 2 hours later? Hypocrite you are. I have not made any admission to the effect you state above.. That is another one of your lies.
"A liar’s reputation … stuck with him like a cockleburr —Carlos Baker"

I am not embarrassed at all. I think it hilarious that you, being the one who has told lies to his congregation, has lied on this forum, and then has the false audacity to question the integrity of the one who brought to the public attention, the many lies you have told.

Troll? Where is your irrefutable proof of that claim? Or are we now going to catch you in another lie?

Avoidance is your middle name on this forum... we won't go into what your family name is.

As I stated before: there is no preponderance of opinion necessary when you have made the public admission. This whole scenario is akin to a man who has been charged with murder; the jury is seated, and the prosecutor is about to make his opening statements, when all of a sudden the defendant (you) admits to the charge brought against him.... subsequently the jury is dismissed because of the admission. The opinion of the jury and the opinion of the court was not necessary. Your admission over-rides all other opinions and makes a reputation for you.

BTW: the opinions of other people regarding me is irrelevant.. they have no PROOF to substantiate those opinions.
