There is a whole series on YouTube that shares this threads name. I will probably post those videos throughout the thread.

However, I found this particularly amusing. Apparently the water cycle is false because it contradicts the word of god.

You might get a good laugh from the "Creation Science" forum.
    http://www.landoverbaptist.net/forumdisplay.php?f=20

You see, when people base their own beliefs, their own lives, around notions that contradict the observable world, you get forums like those cited above. My example is truly extreme, and not necessarily an example of what happens here on PF. PF is actually rather mild, or maybe its because the hard core creationists are run off by the more enlightened individuals.
There are still a couple "gods word trumps all" types who just defy common sense and frequent PF, however that is beside the point.

The world and universe contradict your beliefs, you are probably wrong.

My examples are an illustration, an image of what happens when you abandon all reason and critical thinking and embrace a false dogma.

---- On a side note, I honestly hope the forum I cited is satire. Some of the stuff on there is so frikkin ridiculous makes me want to weep.

LOL Look at the next reply from Re. Jim Osborne:
"Exactly. If the earth was billions of years old, humans and animals would've drank it [water] all up."

    And the next:
"I'd just like to add that some half-educated dimwit is likely to show up here and claim that all the water we drink is eventually given off as sweat and urine. Well, just think about it – that would mean that all our streams, rivers, lakes and oceans would consist of sweat and urine."

Something's gone seriously, seriously wrong in the brain of these people. Unfortunately, it doesn't appear to be satire.

I can't even read all of that. That is ridiculous! Anyone can see the water cycle working if they just pour water on the ground outside, or even boil water. Hello? Do you think God is just "making the water bubble" for your sake?

What's funny is there are a few people coming into the thread and saying just that. But they are shot done for bringing in "godless" science.

Christ, the "flat earth" threads are more active on that forum than on the flat earth society website.

I am on the verge of drowning in a pool of my tears and distain for such ignorance.

Crazy thing is, I don't see secular websites claiming that the trioceros jacksonii is a living Triceratops, or that NASAtan (seriously) is lieing about extra solar planets. Also, the little oddity at the LHC with the faster than light neutrinos is the complete collapse of science and a win for god. It is amusing.

All of this proves nothing. Yes there are people who believe that the Bible creation story must be interpreted literally. This is a product, ultimately, of the Protestant Reformation, which tossed out everything good in Christianity except the Bible.

Fundamentalist Christians don't have the sacraments, they don't have tradition, they don't have the clergy, they don't have the Papacy, they don't have the wisdom of the Church fathers, they have nothing but the Bible, and their version was deliberately mistranslated by the Church of England.

Fundamentalists are operating on an incomplete version of Christianity and are therefore, prone to serious error.

following the clergy is where the error is.

Heck Darwin and galileo showed us all that without a clergy, they can complete more observational research than any church and all the practioners combined, simply because they can be honest with themselves rather than subjective to beliefs.

What the church 'fathers' have done is this day and age is create more confused children from the pedophilia activities, the church forgives.

What is incomplete of the clergy, is the punishment for false witness to any practitioner of lying.

I was home schooled on the Baptist curiculum "A Beka".

Discover magazine actually cited the bunk biology book in their argument against creationism in schools.

Scary to think what would have happened if I had failed to think for myself.

Is there anything in the Bible that requires such hierarchy to ones own salvation?

Scott Hahn wrote a book on the subject, but I lost my copy years ago. It's called "Rome Sweet Home."

Hahn was a Protestant minister who studied the Bible and discovered that Catholicism was more true to the Bible than Protestantism. Before his conversion, he described what the Church should look like to his students, a heirarchy of fathers answering to higher fathers. His students said, "That's the Catholic Church!" He didn't believe his students, but later realized they were right.

I do not have the book with me so I do not know where Hahn got the idea that Scripture supports the notion of a heirarchy within the Church.

Your English is incomprehensible so I must assume you are a product of our public schools. Had you gone to a Catholic school, you would know how to read and write.

And perhaps you would know the English language.

You appear to know nothing about capitalization, punctuation, or even how to form comprehensible sentences.

Take a remedial English course. You sorely need it.

The other laughable claim is that they claim that humans have existed for 3 billion years according to science.

Here is a better question, every atheist in this thread has repeatedly jumped on the evolution band wagon, even though they all know the vast majority of religious people out there accept evolution and they continuously ignore the religious arguementation that harmonizes the two: God and Evolution.

    http://www.livescience.com/5195-god-evolution-exist-scientist.html

So, tell me atheists, why be a dick about something most people already accept? Why belabor the same point over and over and over and over again?

You claim to be avidenced based, well, most people accept evolution. What are you so angry and derisive about? How are YOU better than someone who ALSO accepts evolution? Better educated?

Well, news flash, you aren't. I hope yoru self esteem can handle that reality.

The thread title is CREATIONIST. The vids in question are about CREATIONISTS.

How about you be honest for once and actually address the issue?

If I am not mistaken, this is the same outfit that takes groups of teenagers to places like the Natural History Museum to debunk all the science on display by showing how it contradicts the bible.

I don't think that is a legit forum. I do believe it is was created to mock. I'm thinking the OP is gullible....to even surmise the forum may not be satire. "LandoverBaptist" is a site that mocks people who believe in the Bible. Created by Atheists.

I think it might be better to find honest material.

Teh issue has been addressed BY ALL OF YOU.

My point is wondering why the lot of you beat a horse to death and then drag it down the street to beat it some more?

Most Christians accept Evolution, only atheists cannot accept that fact - yet they laugh at Creationists for ignoring facts?

    Interesting.

    I believe its called hypocrisy.
