You can also point Government subsides raising the cost for Healthcare in general.

Well, everyone would have the same crap people on Medicaid have, anyway.

Yet they treat them as well, if not better, for one third of the cost.

American health outcomes are no better, and often worse than other countries, despite the ludicrous amounts you spend on them.

Why should I trade what I have for Medicaid?

    Why not?

I have been in the top 5-10% income earners in my country yet I do not quibble about paying fair taxes to support those less fortunate.

Why should I have the same insurance as those less fortunate?

Why should the less fortunate not have the same health insurance as you do?

    Are their lives less valuable?

Your problem is that you have a system that buys health. It does not consider it as a right.

    We do.

Healthcare is just like any other resource. Extremely limited.

You would have substandard care given to all rather than superb care to the majority that can afford it in a private system.

We have the quaint notion that health like voting and breathing is a natural human right.

I gather you are happy to have people suffocate.

Is government proposing giving them the same health care as I do, or making me go on Medicaid?

The less fortunate have lots of things that are not the same as I do.

I don't care what other people do as long as I don't have to pay for it. Get it?

Why? Why do insuance companies pay more for the same treatment? What's the actual cost out of your pocket for the treatment? What's the pay-off?

Yeah, I get it. You pay for grunts to do your dirty work in Iraq but let the poor die at home.

    Yep, I've got it.

What "countries" are you talking about not the ones that owe more than their GDP in debt.

If you want to be irrelevant, I suppose I can't stop you.

But this from a country whose credit rating is about to fall.

I am talking about a society in which the rich and the poor have, generally speaking, no more access to health care than the poor.

We do this by a funding system that pays for health care in the same way we pay for roads, police and education.

Everyone has fair access, regardless of social status, wealth and political affiliation.

And everyone pays for it to the extent they can. Through general taxation.

    1) Because they have not contributed enough to society to earn that benefit.

    2)No.

    3) There is no buying health you either have it or you don't.

Ah. So some people deserve to die?

Because, in the opinion of the rich, they are not rich enough.

I am surprised you have had only one revolution.

While your little pre-industrial society may have a social medical system the efficiency is greatlly in question. The existance of a private medical system in Canada only strengthens the capitalist idea. We can force mediocre care on everyone, but those with money will still get better care,....you get what you pay for.

I find it quite funny how you liberals/conservatives twist answers and this one was pretty straight forward....So some people deserve to die... NO...., but do keep playing to your liberal base ....

SOME PEOPLE DESERVE TO DIE BECAUSE THEYRE TOO POOR TO AFFORD HEALTH INSURANCE!!

    There quote that ass.

Allow me to reword that for you: Only the rich deserve good health care because they can afford it. Poor people should get another job and work their arses off before they are even close to deserving the care that we are privy to.

Healthcare costs so much in the US because the insurance companies can charge what they please. The more expensive it is, the more people won't be able to afford it, and still conservatives will insist that their healthcare system is the best in the world.

    Not this one.

I give the President credit for at least addressing the issue, I just don't agree with the method.

    There we have it.

If you are too poor to funnel profits into the greedy suckers of the health industry, you are not an investment worthy of life.

On that basis, you would let most of the population of India become fertiliser.

Does nature provide medicinal innovation and providers to fuel this "right"?
