Why Hayek was Right About Nazis Being Socialists

Fredrich Hayek was more than a great economist, he also understood the Nazis. All of my study of the Nazis shows them as being Socialists. For example they had a national health plan provided by Government. Nazis handed out free vacations to workers including a ship they could use on vacation. I believe it was Goebbels that announced them to be socialists.

Socialists hate capitalism and corporations.

The Nazis gladly worked within the capitalist system and had many corporate allies and we're glad to work with them, and help them get rich off of the labor of the abused average man and even slave labor.

That is not socialism

 

So who are you defending, the Nazis or the socialists?

 

I'm not defending either as I oppose both groups as evil

 

Lets probe Socialism a bit further. Hayek is not the only one to call the Nazis socialists. They themselves said they were.

 

The only way socialists support corporations and capitalism is if you destroy the meaning of socialism in order to recreate a new ideology.

Socialist hate corporations and corporate exploitation of workers. The Nazis had no problem with this.

If the Nazis were socialists then Chuck Schumer is a Conservative Republican

 

Socialists always want to claim they hate corporations and that if the Nazis cooperated with corporations it means they were not socialists.

That argument did not fly with Hayek the economist from Austria.

Socialism has nothing to do with corporations. Socialism is a form of Governance. Corporations are a legal structure to own large firms.

 

Socialist especially today hate corporations and capitalism. They want the state or the workers to control all means of production, that means the state or the workers control the corporations they work for.

The Nazis allowed slave labor and corporations that exploited their workers to exist.

That means they were not socialists. and if they claim to be socialist that means they were lying or were totally ignorant of what socialism means.

Socialism, Capitalism and Communism are all just chalk board exercises- none of them has ever existed in pure form in the real world.
Nazi were no more pure socialist than MAGA are pure capitalist.

 

Don't be so naive. Nazi Party leaders paid mere lip service to socialist ideals on the way to achieving their one true goal: raw, totalitarian power.

Kind of like how Trump espoused populist slogans while working his way towards being an authoritarian.

 

Let us never forget that the Nazis purged all actual socialists from their party.

Murdered and exiled. Yes there used to be socialists within Nazism but Hitler got rid of them. Corporatist Nazism won the day.

 

The only true socialist within Nazism are now called Strasserists. But they were kicked out of the party and murdered.

 

Time has not been kind to the Austrian school.

 

Why is this even a question? It's in the name, National Socialist German Workers' Party.

Fun fact: just because you call yourself a socialist doesn't mean you're actually a socialist.

It's what you do that matters.

Socialist were sent to concentration camps when Hitler solidified power. Everything, certainly economics, was subservient to the state in his twisted mind.

I hate the Nazis and I hate the Soviets both groups persecuted and murdered my family.

But that doesn't mean I'm going to accept dishonest and ignorant claims about either groups. I can walk and chew gum at same time
