Probably not in our lifetime. Assuming that transportation continues to be made more widely available in the future, then we'll all eventually become mutts, and we'll have to find something other than race as a foundation for any tribalism and/or bigotry in which we may choose to engage.
It is a good thing that there are no Neanderthal chics who insist they don't have to no for an answer from homo sapien males.
I think racism will always be there. Less and less with each generation. But it will still be there. Black people and white alike try to hide from racism, no I'm not racist, the truth is a lot of us still are. We don't want to be, but generations of bad teachings, and let's face it we are culturally different. A lot of blacks think whites are stupid and easy to take advantage of. They think they have it over white guys because they are cooler, smoother, and have big penis's. Whites think blacks are scammers, lazy, government suckers, and not good fathers, wanna have sex, but not take responsibility.Neither race really trust the other. Good intentions, but no trust is not good. White girls think black girls are, (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)y, mean, loud, and obnoxious, at the same time jealous because they have great bodies, and are smart. Blacks girls hate white girls, they think we are taking black men, white, and have better opportunities in life. Whites do have better opportunities. Not fair but true.
A very rare occurrence, but I actually agree with you. Racism does not lie solely in the realms of "white" people, it is something that all people from all walks of life have and do to others and it is time that all people realized that there is only one race and that is the human race.
We're all racists in our own way. I like to think that we are 'guarded' or 'reclusive' racists in that we refuse to let our real feelings be known or we refuse to mingle among a crowd who we might not feel comfortable around or of people who are not of our kind (race or ethnicity). Now we have the blatantly open racists like al Sharpton who has made a living off of his race baiting skills. Mark Cuban said it best when describing the black man in a hoodie or the bald-tattooed white guy in that he would avoid both scenes since its common sense to be vigilant of potential danger. Don't tell me that you as a white man when walking through the streets of Roxbury, Watts, or Harlem at night aren't going to use your built-in profiling radar to assess the surroundings and then proceed with the utmost of caution. Its called human nature for those of you who ascribe to calling anyone a racist who didn't vote for Obama or who have a problem with his black attorney general's decision not to prosecute the black panthers disgraceful bullying at that Philadelphia voting center.
Racists are a dying breed, although they flood this forum, it is not a true indicator of real life. Politics is notoriously filled, with horrible, corrupt parasites. Go to a music, sport, history or literature forum, there would be less racists.
It will never vanish, as long as, we have folks who feel like an inferior lapping up to a superior and folks who feel like a superior looking down on an inferior. We have to come together as human beings who have learned mutual respect.
So your saying your a closet racist that puts on a front around folks who are not white. Funny, the same was said about Dr. King, eventhough, he died broke. Yep and that is why folks are caught off guard everyday, because you don't see the guy in the suit or blue jeans and t-shirt. A black man is going to do that when walking through those areas, but there are also white neighborhoods I am going to do the same thing in. Its kind of hard to prosecute someone for bullying when you can't find anyone who felt like they were bullied.
You hit the nail on the head. Feeling inferior is a personal choice. We also have to realize that we ALL have to answer to someone. I love to serve, and I don't see my servitude as being inferior to someone. Quite the opposite. Its a matter of love for my fellow men. We are human beings, all of us, and all of us have to earn respect. I earned mine, you earned yours, and so must everyone else. Its not to be given freely, and it has nothing to do with skin color or social ranks. Actions speak louder than want. Behavior is foremost important. I stand up straight, dress cleanly, am groomed, speak softly and properly, and I will be spoken to differently than if I stand there and chew gum with my mouth open while scratching my crotch.
As is feeling superior. Depends on what type of service and how that service is received. Agreed. Your right, but unfortunately in many cases skin color and social rank does come into play. Can't argue with that.
Don't forget about those racist blacks who put a front on around we WHITE folk. Some racist or race baiters die rich and some die broke....what's your point? Can't grasp your point here, if indeed you had one. Only further proof that all of us have this built in radar that gives us the necessary tools and the innate desire to racially profile any dangerous situation. Evidently you missed the news of that story where those black panthers were waving those nightclubs at White voters before entering the voting center. I'm sure there are numerous online sites available to give you the facts on that case as well as the AG's refusal to indict those ********s.
Well when they admit it like you did I won't. Funny how folks who only want the same equality that you enjoy are called race baiters. White folks of your ilk love the black folks who will scratch when they don't itch or laugh when nothing is funny, but the ones who will speak up are considered as a threat to your racist thinking. The point is the person whom you don't think is a criminal or a threat is just that. Its not necessarily based on race, because there are rough parts of town everywhere. Do you think that in an all white town there is no crime. I didn't see them waving anything, I saw them just standing there. Again you mean that case where no one felt threatened.
"Will racism ever vanish?" Probably not. It's just natural. Blacks proudly publicize their hate for whites, and many whites respond in kind -- tit for tat. Only a short time ago, some 300 black African school girls were kidnapped by black African terrorists. The international news media in a false show of outrage and support, went bonkers frantically keeping it on their front pages. Everyone was furiously claiming to try to rescue them with no avail. After a few weeks of shrieking hullabaloo, the story was suddenly dropped and disappeared. Whatever happened to those black girls? Where are they now? Had they been white girls kidnapped by blacks, the whole world would have gone into a raging rescue mode and America would have spent an unlimited amount of blood and treasure until they were brought home safe and sound. Happy fathers' day!
God for you, stay in denial. You got to be kidding. You think that the racist al Sharpton who accused the cops of mauling/raping Tawana Brawly when he knew all along she was lying didn't do it so as to get even with White people? You think that with all the unfair affirmative action, quotas and special government entitlements that blacks now receive isn't enough to give blacks that so-called equality you long for? Get real! First of all, I don't have any of this racist thinking. That's a figment of your ripe imagination. The blacks speaking up that I have a problem with are the likes of racists and race baiters like an al Sharpton, a rev wright, a Jessie Jackson and a farrkhan and just about any speaker from the NAALCP or (National Association Advancement of Liberal Colored People). Tell me, do you yourself want to see WHITEY make reparations to your people for dirty deeds done generations ago? Oh, so now you can read my mind? You have no idea how this former combat veteran deems someone a criminal or a threat to my life. Look pal, no one is more vigilant than me when it comes to my own safety. I told you before that I used Mark Cuban's description of being vigilant around black gang bangers and or white hoodlums who may be sporting tattoos etc. You really did miss that entire story. Many whites were too frightened to vote and turned away by the actions of those black panther thugs. I suggest you look the story up again to get the facts. See my above response and act accordingly before you embarrass yourself again.
The oppressed will end up hating their oppressor sooner or later. The one in power then can claim to be oppressed in return. You can choose to be good or bad but you cannot choose to be black, brown or colored. When you hate your victim, expect hate back at ya.
God for you also. Right, but you didn't think Charles Stuart was lying or Susan Smith was lying. Funny, how I don't know any of these blacks that are getting all this special treatment and I am black. Black males have the highest unemployment rate, but you claim we are getting all this special treatment. I know, no what person has ever had any racist thinking. Well they are in good company because your grandfather had a problem with the likes of race baiters like Dr. King, Ralph Abernathy, A. Phillip Randolph, Medgar Evers, etc. Thx you for your service, now what does that have to do with what I said. Oh were pals now. Cuban threw that white hoodlums part in to stop from sounding racist or biased. I didn't read one story where anyone white said they didn't go vote because they were afraid. I am pretty sure all those stories were on FOX news. Please post those stories.
Racism will only vanish when the race in power actually understands their own advantages and begins to consider all other races as equals. The law can only forbid activity, it cannot change minds nor social norms without a dramatic change in the way the advantaged race views themselves and everyone else. As with the gay rights issue, this essentially boils down to the persecuted reacting legally, culturally and politically to gain some measure of equality and power from their oppressors. All any oppressed race or minority wants is to be treated as equal. This equality means that your innate humanity is understood not tolerated. Equality means that a race finally be understood as a chimera even though it is part of who that person is and should be celebrated and respected. When we treat races equally, it means that we understand that they are people just like us with desires, hopes, dreams, faults, saints, heroes, buffoons and every other type of human behavior. Just because some black man makes a mistake or says something stupid or does something horrific is not an indictment of the race, culture or the cause. It is simply an indication that a black, brown or gay person can be just as good or bad as any white person. What cannot be changed is the color of one's skin or their sexual orientation. A bad white person can reform and live a new life. A good black or brown or gay person does not have that luxury, they will always be who they are regardless of their actions or words. Racism will exist just as long as the race in power lets it and it will create a reaction. But the one in power is in power, it is up to them to fix it.
Racism will not vanish as long as there are significant differences between groups to be racist about.
Its not even that. Certain tribes in africa have been warring for years over perceived ethnic differences that only they notice. The differences don't have to be significant, or even in existence. There will always be people willing to take any excuse to hate each other or feel superior etc. People can be (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)s like that.
Certain tribes in europe have been warring for years over perceived ethnic differences that only they notice.
Actually, we are much less racist today than we have ever been. Racism is about race based prejudice. Racism does not account for differences in religion, sex, politics, tribe or clan. It is about race only. We can change that over time, we already have changed it very much in my lifetime. Once we get beyond race, maybe we can tackle the other things people use to separate themselves from each other. Why, we might even stop being religious at some point. That would really be progress.
