    Well, I'll just mention one.

    The major opposition to abortion in the USA comes from evangelical protestants. They see abortion as being counter to their religious views and that the government should enforce their views through laws and prosecution.

    However, 61% of Americans believe abortion should be legal.

    Please address my posts as written. Pretending I said something that I clearly did not say should be avoided.

    My post was in direct answer to YOUR question, and it did not refer to MY position. It referred to what is going on in the USA.

    It was not in any way a direct answer. America is still nominally a democracy. The fact that polls suggest support for the sin of abortion is irrelevant. It in no way shows any attempt to "weaponize religious beliefs against others". That's just a shameful attempt to demonize religious.
