    BTW, the OP reporting ONE crime did not present or represent a HUGE increase in crime....there may be but he didn't present it and my statement is true and accurate, there IS crime in other countries...

    No, it's not.

    Legally, you can own two items in the UK for the purposes of intentional self defense: a rape whistle, and brightly colored dye.

    Now, if you happen to own a baseball bat because you play baseball a lot, someone breaks into your house and tries to kill you, and you pick it up in desperation and use it in self defense, that is legal.

    You can't, however, go out and buy a baseball bat for the purposes of self defense. That's illegal.

    Arthur Waszkiewicz, 39, of Wolfa Street, Derby, will appear before magistrates on Saturday.

    He is due to appear at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates' Court.

    Charged with murder, if he is guilty I hope he enjoys his prison time.
