    “Lifespan in the US in those days was 70 whereas it is 78 today. Population was 200 million as compared with 328 million today. It was also a healthier population withlow obesity. If it would be possible toextrapolate the death data based on population and demographics, wemight be looking at a quarter milliondeaths today from this virus. So interms of lethality, it was as deadlyand scary as COVID-19 if not moreso,"

    In order to bring back the economy people have to go back to work, are you suggesting they be forced to return to work against their own better judgement????

    I completely reject the premise of the article.

    And any attempt to compare whatever happened in 1969 (to the Current 2020 Covid-19 sutuation) is hideously flawed and doesn't warrant further comment.

    Those are not reliable numbers. Everyone that dies with Covid is counted as dying of Covid which wildly inflates the numbers.

    Nobody has contained anything. One infected person and it starts from square one. Herd immunity is the best option until a vaccine is found and hopefully that vaccine is much better than the 50% protection the flu shot provides.
