Yep, that's just what we need to keep our legislators and law enforcement agencies busy with. Good thinking Einstein
Hey - thanks for your contribution. It is great to hear from someone with such a strong and passionate interest in the subject. And BTW - Solidarity! - I really hope that you and your friends will be able to marry legally one day!
That`s what legislators and law enforcement agencies are for, not carrying out a Aussie hating agenda.
Huh?!?!? Legislators and law enforcement agencies are here for prosecuting people that burn bits of nylon made in China?!?!?! Unless it is a total fire ban - I see no reason why. If it is their bit of Chinese nylon - they can do with it what they please can't they? Could you explain why they can't?
One reason for not burning a piece of plastic would be the released chemical compounds in the air, which are set free when burning plastic..................... Apart from that, you are right!
A Nation`s flag is a symbolic token of the Nation itself. To disrespect any Nation`s flag is to treat that Nation, and it`s citizens, with contempt. I thought everyone knew that. If you don`t respect, or appreciate your country, it`s time to think seriously about where you want to live.
So...you think that legislators and law enforcement agencies are here to prosecute people for being "disrespectful"!?!?!? Why? When did that become a crime?
Well then you might wish to acqaint yourself with this and then explain why you feel the need to support those who do disrespect the flag. Kindly show where bogans are allowed to paste an Australian flag wherever they wish and totally disregard flag protocol.
If you really don`t get it, if you aren`t just flaming, you should consider immigrating. Australia won`t miss you.
They can now, as it's not a crime...but should be. I see plenty of reasons why burning the Aussie flag should be made a serious crime, with cops arresting flag burners and courts punishing them severely. It doesnt surprise me that when confronted directly with your own double standard you divert away into yet another of your petty personal attacks. However, this doesnt detract from the fact that you are only in favour of selective respect for the flag, in other words if you and your bogan mates ignore flag protocal and disrespect the flag thats ok, but if anyone else does then they need to be hung drawn and quartered. Your selective retreat into patriotism is based on nothing more than what you perceive as an opportunity to deride others who dont fit into your own particular narrow insular view of things. also you might care to,m answer this question, thats if you have the bottle for it
Hmmmm, that might be right for some nations, but not for ours. If Abos burn our true blue flag, I fully sympathize with that. For them our arrival was the invasion, and the only solution for this dilemma would be, find another date, which both can enjoy.....
If a citizen wants to burn the flag in protest about some political issue i dont see a problem with that, to make burning the flag a crime reeks of a dictatorship and a police state imo. No symbol is greater than the idea behind it. The funny thing is though that many get upset about burning a piece of cloth, yet lay motionless as they are being delivered into financial slavery. GO FIGURE.
And what penalties do you propose for people that post nonsense videos that tell lies? Our flag did not become the "chief symbol of a new nation" until 1954 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flag_of_Australia Not 1901 as your disgusting flag-dishonoring propaganda states. The flag did not "receive a baptism of fire at the tender age of 14" as your filthy lying propaganda video spews. Troops fought under the British flag in both world wars. The only "troops" that fought under the current blue ensign were the drunken yobbos in Cronulla who wore it as tattoos and capes. May as well burn the bastard (total fire bans permitting - of course) Biut what do we do about the disgusting lying pieces of filth that spread nationalist lies? What do we do with them?
To try to spin that proudly displaying a flag equates to burning a flag, is silly, nothing else, just silly.
A flag is more than a piece of cloth, burning a Nation`s flag is a statement of contempt for the entire Nation, the good things and the bad. Why then shouldn`t the Nation return the sentiment? Nothing is ever perfect, to throw a hissy fit & throw the baby out with the bath water is childish and counter productive. To burn a flag is symbolic of burning the entire Nation, deserves a like response.
But yet, you responded. With your usual nothing but respond you did. You appear too scared to answer this question Kindly show where bogans are allowed to paste an Australian flag wherever they wish and totally disregard flag protocol.
Oh?!?! Symbolism is to be treated with a like response to the act it is symbolising? Better tell Catholics to rethink that Communion wafer huh? BTW: Are you friends with those guys that bombed the Danish Embassies in Pakistan and Syria after they decided that the symbolic representation of Allah in a cartoon required an appropriate response? You seem to have a lot in common with them.
