"With the Fourth Estate in the bag for liberal progressives you’d think the only pro-Second Amendment people were gun owners themselves and half of them were hunters who didn’t support concealed carry either. Take heart, it’s nothing more than the liberal strategy “If you say it often enough, loud enough, it becomes truth.” " A 2016 study conducted by the Crime Prevention Research Center found that during President Obama’s administration the number of concealed handgun permits jumped to 14.5 million, a 215% increase since 2007" Source: https://bearingarms.com/david-l/2017/04/26/concealed-carry-in-the-workplace/
I don't know the adult population of Texas, but there are over a million people with a license to carry and anybody who can legally own a gun can keep it concealed in their car. That has to be at least 5-10% of all adults in Texas. Florida has even more than Texas.
Meanwhile, black-on-black gun violence runs our of control in the inner cities; liberals choose to ignore it.
I consult with many, many firearm instructors across the nation. They ALL report huge increases in the attendance of concealed carry classes. They also report that the diversity of students is up like never before.
My experience is similar. Lots of ostensibly liberal demographics embracing gun ownership and pursuing training. A good friend of mine who teaches self-defense classes was surprised when a gay couple came in to look into training. They were more than a little uncomfortable walking in, but he's such an easy-going guy without a bigoted bone in his body that they quickly relaxed and became much more comfortable. He said they were both committed and dedicated students, and ultimately became good friends of his.
That is our observation and we welcome diversity. What I have found is that common, shared activity often creates a foundation for interaction that is conducive to forging bonds between people regardless of their color, gender and other differences... a benefit that extends beyond the singular shared activity.
Concealed carry is definitely on the rise, but work places are polarized on the issue. Retail businesses don't ban CC because they want business, but office buildings are less gun friendly. Most of my management CCs, but the company policy is no guns on company property or in company vehicles. I was forced into a company vehicle last year. I have chosen to ignore the policy concerning the company vehicle. I always obey the law, but bend company policy at times. They forced me into this car and I can find a job elsewhere if it comes down to it. I do field service and don't carry into customer's buildings and if I work at a Federal installation, I leave my gun at home. It sucks not having a 2A when I go to the Post Office. I can understand military bases or federal courts or police offices. The Feds don't have a right to infringe, but they also have responsibilities to conduct business in the Constitution and some of those activities must be secured. (Military bases, courts, FBI, DEA, etc.....) Many office buildings outright ban handguns to employees and the public. It doesn't stop workplace violence. Dallas had a guy who killed his boss and then himself over his pending firing in an office building last week. No law would have stopped him from doing this. Too bad the boss couldn't defend herself.
More and more I've chosen to disregard regulations regarding gun restrictions. Now with some of the smaller lighter weapons such as the Ruger LCR or Sig P290, you can carry with virtually no risk of detection.
We could send you into a few of the Democratic neighborhoods and you'd figure it out quickly. Rape, robbery, assault and murder of old white woman is a sport there.
I have a metal gun box bolted to the floor of the car. They never let you carry at work. And my gun is way too big -- full sized 45ACP -- not to imprint.
Perfect. I'd say just anywhere in Baltimore except in the harbor area and just about anywhere in New Orleans except the Garden District. Money says she wouldn't last a day.
I honestly do not care if the Negroes kill each other off. Win win. It just bothers me when they start haunting the streets elsewhere. That's why I carry 24/7/365 everywhere.
You believe the level of gun-related crime in the US is a sound argument for more gun control laws. The fact you believe the level of gun violence necessitates more gun control leads to the inescapable conclusion that gun violence in the US is significant enough that law abiding should have the ability to carry, should they choose to. That is, we carry because people like you present a sound argument for doing so.
