Serbia are ranked lower than Iran and England put 6 past them and hit the post twice. Could easily have been 8-2. Spain scored 7. First half was pretty dull. So dull I didn't even notice it was Serbia not Senegal. LOL. I'm not saying they aren't capable of better just that they didn't look like the favourites to lift the cup today.

Disagree. Brazil made 22 attempts, 2 goals, 2 post hits while their defense kept the Serbs with precisely zero on-target shots. That's a very good performance. And FIFA rankings are a joke. Serbia are a better team than Iran. They don't collect as many FIFA points because they play in Europe while Iran play in Asia. The first half was not dull. It's just that Serbia parked the bus, not even bringing in their main forward (Vlahovic) in favor of defensive-minded players. Brazil kept pounding and at one point found the way and completely overwhelmed a good Serbia. Spain scored 7... on Costa Rica! England did well. I'm not disputing that. Yes, Brazil remain one of the favorites to lift the cup, although the lesion to Neymar's ankle is a concern. I think that whatever is going on with Neymar's ankle is a much bigger factor than their performance against Serbia. Raphinha needs to go. He is the team's worst player. He squandered chances that other players Tite got under him in the pecking order could have capitalized on. I hope Neymar recovers and Raphinha doesn't come back.

There's always the danger that England win later and rest a lot of players in the final game against Wales. I don't think they will risk it though as they will want to avoid France in the next round.
On the plus side for USA the first choice Wales goalkeeper is suspended from their next game and the Iran number 7 has just got his second yellow.
