Would a psychopath have any good reason to be religious?

besides the fear of burning in hell or other punishment by god?

My thinking is perhaps not, since they're not really capable of loving anyone but themselves. But I wonder how many believers make sure to practice their religion to avoid divine punishments, whether they realize it or not.

Stalin executed 1.5 million of his own people - 5 million of his own people died as prisoners in his Gulags - 1.7 million of his own people lost their lifes during deportations (7.5 million were deported) - and he murdered also 1 million german prisoners of war and german civilists

Stalin executed those who cooperated with the nazis and those who revolted in Ukraine and in both cases it had nothing to do with religion.
The deportations happen because Polish borders moved to the west... after the agreement in Yalta .
The nazis executed Soviet soldiers as well , if one party ignores Geneva convention what is the purpose for the other to stick with it?

    Your reasoning fails.

    murdered

Sure not - Stalin was an atheist - nothing had to do with religion what he did. That's why he is the example here.

I don't know how many polish people were victims of Stalin (and all people who decided to do this nonsense in Yalta). I guess also lots of polish people died.

The Nazis murdered about 2 million russian pows. That's one of the darkest hours of the german history. An unforgiveable shame for our nation.

Nazis murdered also parts of my families. My father was about 17 years when he was a soldier in the time of world war 2 in Russia. He always spoke with a completly natural respect about the russian people - in the same way as if he would speak about other neighbors. So I know he never saw personal enemies in Russians. It was only the war who forced him to be a soldier in Russia. You are not wrong with a view full of critics on the politics of the United States or Germany - but never you should calculate "one crime minus another crime is no crime". Crimes are Crimes - Criminals are Criminals. Stalin was a mass-murderer.

I am not going to argue your choice of words

He should not be an example because the motivation behind the killings was not religious , do not forget that he also went after people (from my ideological sphere) like Trotsky .

Many but not that many , Polish borders just moved into the west occupying Lusetia and most of Silesia , Poles were deported from USSR and Germans got deported from Poland.

You shouldn't be ashamed for something you didn't do , for example i do not feel responsible for the extermination of Bulgarians , Pelasgians , Libyans , Paflagonians, Sicels and the rest in the long list.

We all have family members involved in very unpleasant situations .

Stalin was a lunatic but a man alone can not do anything without the consent of the masses .
In case you don't know inquisition in England stopped after a village refused to accept the examination by clerics , they simply told them to (*)(*)(*)(*) off and that they don't care if someone in their community was a sinner , other villages followed the same example and the madness was over.
A psychopath can be marginalised when the sane ones step up and put him in his place .

Changes nothing: The murder on 2 million russian pows was one of the worst crimes of history and an unforgivable shame for Germany. Also Russians are not able to change anything in this situation. That's irreversible.

That's wrong because the intelligence of the masses is the average intelligence of all people divided by the the number of individuals who are part of the mass.

Please - the inqusition murdered in 500 years less people than the French revolution murdered in only one day. And it was the psychopath Henry VIII who founded a new state church of England and not the citizens of England. Since this days mostly atheists are the leaders of the church of England.

This is a blanket statement including people who were not even born back then. If you are for the collective shame i guess you are also for the collective punishment ... see where this is going ?

It is not about intelligence but about guts and principles , maybe while living inside an autocracy the intelligent think to do is keep your head down and mind your business but this also makes you a collaborator . Those who collaborate with psychopaths qualify as psychopaths themselves because they accept a situation that is not right. A man of principles stands up and fight the wrong doings even at the cost of his life.

You didn't had to take my example literally .

I see that you are calling me a Nazi because I say it is an irreversible everlasting shame for my german nation that we had murdered two million russian pows under Hitler.

If you like to see the history of tyranny then you can see also a history of drugs and betrayal. "Der Denunziant" is one of the most important Germans ever lived - and he's undying. Everyone lives in fear of him.

Sounds a little psychopathic. Life likes to live.

Okay - although it's important to see that someone who speaks in the name of god is able to be an atheist too.

Don't be so touchy I did not call you anything .
You get into an argument with the wrong foot , the whole "collective" thing led to nazis .

History of tyranny ? what if i tell you that in the old world they used it as a period in between republics to correct the errors republics created?

See it is a cultural issue , we have revolted 1000's of times because as people say "better live 1 day as a free man rather than 40 years as a slave" . Life is what matters not survival .

Wasn't it better that he killed millions of Russians instead of millions of other nationalities? Someone could have always killed him if they had wanted to.

Good grieve. If you don't know what you thought and said - whoelse should know?

It will forever be a shame for my own german nation - you are not a German - that we murdered 2 million russian pows.

I guess you don't understand me: I am a German - I am the old world. And I don't have only a little idea what you like to say with this words.

Who is your "we"-collective you are refering to now?

In case you don't see the flag next to my nick i am Greek .... and you told me that you are old world... :)
Tyrants were usually put in position by popular uprisings , the republic isn't always right and some things can go wrong so citizens supported a prominent one to rule all and correct the misdeeds of democracy.

You are insisting on the collective shame which is not the way to survive history , nations learn and move on . My nationals not only exterminated lots of other nations but also made entire cultures extinct , i take no shame for their doings because they didn't know , we do and we should not repeat such mistakes.
And yes we have revolted a lot against everyone and everything .

Am I understanding you the right way? You are a greek nationalist ¿and socialist? who thinks that tyranny is the best way between two republics and Germans should not waste their time to feel bad with wrong deeds of Nazis - and wrong behavior in general - because otherwise we would be hopelessly fighting against Nazi-chimeres while we should do what good greek guys from the greek collective are doing: revolting against everyone and everything! ... now I know why Greece always needs philosophers ... Congrats - perfect confusion ... Hail Merkl!
