We can't determine where matter and energy came from either. Birds can talk, I guess God can make anything talk.

Yes, an invisible friend can do anything....anything at all.....except prove that he's actually real.

"Birds can talk".....so I guess that proves that donkeys and snakes can talk....sounds logical to me.

"We can't determine where matter and energy came from either".....please google: false God Of The Gaps argument
    Thanks.

I don't ignore science. I ignore scientific theories. Saying the earth is more than 6k years old is theory. Saying we came from sludge and apes is theory. Saying there was a Big Bang in place of creation is theory. Much of science is theological.

Maybe talking birds are just evidence God can make animals talk. Science can't prove or disprove the possibility. You could be right, I could be right. I'll stick with my faith until there is undeniable proof otherwise.

Well, accept for the irrefutable evidence.
See, there's far more evidence that the earth is way way over 6k years old than there is evidence that Jesus is real. Go where the evidence leads you, my friend (away from an invisible zombie with no evidence and towards the scientific evidence.)

For you to be right a man has to be able to live in a fish for 3 days, and Jesus has to be so immoral that he's perfectly fine with seeing that your own mother (if she embraces science and shuns legends and leaves Christianity) brutally, savagely tortured in a "lake of fire", all like the Bible says. Your mom deserves better than that, don't you think? I do, because of love people far more than Jesus of the Bible apparently does.

It also can't disprove that Santa is real, so you'd better be good this year!

    - - - Updated - - -

Maybe talking birds are just evidence God is not real - invented by people who were so ignorant of how the world works that they didn't even know where the sun went at night.

    - - - Updated - - -

.....so believe in a talking dead guy who has been dead for 2000 years......rrrrright.

The bible is filled with unnatural events. It is part of the faith to accept super natural power. Of which, the presence of matter and energy has no other explanation.

As to the immorality of Jesus, you have no factual or biblical proof. Eternal torment is a man made false doctrine.

Great, I see you've removed Revelation from your Bible, excellent. So the book about Jesus says we non-sucker-uppers to Jesus get a lake of fire, and in 2000 years Jesus has never corrected that, even though it's apparently completely false. I'd have correct that apparent falsehood if I was in Jesus' shoes - but that's because I care more about people/truth than Jesus does.

That's because when people invent fairy tales they can't summon FACTS to prove their wild self-serving claims....bummer.

    - - - Updated - - -

So is The Lord of The Rings, and Peter Pan, and Jack And The Beanstalk....see how that works? Instead of believing in something that can't differentiate itself from fairy tales, why not let scientific evidence lead you?

You're not going to survive your own death, so give up on that fantasy.

I'm not sure what you are saying in this post. I really suspect you are just declaring your denial of science as a whole.

After all, science is based on theories - ideas that have been formalized and undergo massive and continual testing. Theories form the most concrete understanding that science has a way of creating.

If you decide theories are garbage, then, well, there really isn't anything left.

The Qur'an says that there will be Christians, Jews and Muslims in heaven.

Of course, that doesn't answer the question you're bringing up. There is still the issue of what God would choose to do with the billions who never even heard about the god of the Bible.

Logically, the Lake of fire has a purpose. It is to cleanse the universe of all impurities. Your unrepentant soul will likely take part in that destruction. While it is said there will be wailing and bashing of teeth, we have no indication it will be painful. The wailing will likely be the recognition of Gods truth and their annihilation from participating in heaven.

Science cannot factually say we were not created. Even evolution should stink of intelligent design.

As to whether I survive death is to be determined. I could die before the 1st resurrection or be taken alive in it. If I die, I died.

You might be right. Let me ask you this, if, repeat if, for argument's sake, say it is brutally painful, savagely so, can you condemn Jesus for letting what would then be a barbaric scheme exist? I do, because I care about people too much and think it's unfair to torture people (if that is the case) for simply picking the wrong super-hero out of the tens of thousands on offer, especially very moral people. What about you?

Apparently those evil, sinister, vile, Buddhists and Jains are so disgusting that they don't get in, however.
Pretty screwed up, if you ask me. Punishing moral, hard-working people for simply bucking lottery-like odds by making the honest mistake of not picking the "correct" unproven super-hero out of the tens of thousands on offer. Pretty vile.

YES - to SCARE weak-minded people into joining the cult because logic, evidence, and common sense can't be provided otherwise!

I'm not going quibble if some who did not recieve justice in life suffer a fair amount of pain in destruction. While I don't see a point in it, 6 million Jews and millions others who have suffered at the injustices of others may see the point in it. I trust God will be fair in the judgement.

This "god" says to kill gays (Bible), and approves of slavery, and tortured Job, and killed maybe 20+ million people in his "flood" (allegedly), so his "judgment" is horrific! Why worship a savage, disgusting, barbarian? You are more moral than that, I believe.

You are clearly promoting your distaste of Christianity based on religious teachings and not actual biblical scriptures. The only thing to fear is annihilation/eternal non-existence. How God cleanses the universe should be the least of your worries.

The problem with the bible is that it was written by many different authors at different times. It was also canonized by men from the writings of these many authors. I'm not convinced that it is 100% the mind of God, but has all we need to understand his will and the plan of salvation.

As with any flawed human work it can be misinterpreted and used cynically. And again, you will discredit God based on his not presenting himself to suit your expectations. My faith is based on the overall message which is good and gives hope and comfort.

if you believe in a universal connectedness, and that is what God is, then anything you or I write is 100% the mind of God... course that doesn't mean it's factual and not myth

Yes, I admit it, I have a distaste for barbaric, illogical, intellectually inconsistent, immoral schemes, such as Jesus' "hell/heaven" nonsense.

    - - - Updated - - -

Killing gays, approving slavery, hating people and slaughtering them for having a different invisible friend, etc.....THAT gives you "hope and comfort"? You really really may want to check into Modern Secular Humanism.

    - - - Updated - - -

This invisible friend of yours sounds like an ethnic (or religious) cleanser.

There IS reason for the story to exist.

What I want is evidence. And, there is evidence of man creating religion. We see in essentially every society on earth the creation of a spiritual world along with the stories of mythical beings and their activities, personalities, lessons they provide, etc. And, these "religions" differ in many and profound ways.

So, there IS evidence that man will create religion. Mankind has found uses for religion.

What we are lacking is evidence that any of these religions involves beings that actually do exist.

The evidence we have is that all plants, all animals, in fact all life forms, die. Fearing that is a logical extension of our advanced capacity to be aware of ourselves - stemming from our gigantic mental capacity (compared to other life forms).

However, it makes no sense to allow that fear to be so all-consuming as to justify turning ones short existence over to those who propagate stories of mythical beings - even if those people were consistently of pure intent.

Human's have been creating GODS and RELIGIONS for several Million years.

Human's in one form or another have existed on Earth for over 5 Million years but it was just about 2 million years ago that we had the mental capacity to consider the concept of Religion.

It is possible that a GOD or even GODS exist....but is it PROBABLE???

Well if we ask this question and ask..."Is it PROBABLE that a GOD or GODS exist in the manner advertised in any ancient human religious text existing?"

The answer would be....Possible yes. Probable...no.

Probability greatly increases when the question is changed to...."Does a GOD or GODS exist in the Universe or Multiverse?"

In that question Probability increases many multiples of times.

If Jesus is so powerless, then why beg ("pray") to him - instead, try to solve our own problems, and stop expecting an invisible wizard in the sky to magically help us.

    !! Hilarious!!

The real issue when determining whether something exists is ... evidence.

Without evidence, the answer is "I do not know".

Beyond that, who in their right mind would be more likely to answer "probably" simply because the question included the words "Universe or Multiverse"??? I mean, is there a sizable contingent of people who think the two questions above could have a different answer?

I'm not arguing against your poll, but I do find it astounding.
