Ridiculous claim. We have private business here and if they can't make a product people want to buy they lose money. These people like to make money. We are just that advanced we can juice rocks now. Turns out you can bleed a stone.

'under the boot' you mean battles of Moscow and Stalingrad, huh? Soviets won there, not lost, whatever US education taught you... go and sue the varsity you studied at for they take money to make lobotomy on students instead of educating.

do you call a 'dark age' the free medical care and free education that East Bloc peoples had?

How did the Germans fight in those cities if they didn't already tear through Russia to get there?

Yes. Exactly. Your medical recovery rates are atrocious and the people far behind us. We have free education here. It is called a scholarship.

ah don't be so naive... 'private business' existed in the USA on that scale in the days of The California Gold Rush only.
the talks of 'shale gas' have been around for 2 years now, without a gallon of it actually produced.

If you're the voice of the anti-American resistance, I think we'll do OK.

That isn't true at all about shale gas of course.

    Stop watching government media.

Russia has done very horrible things. That is why you needed a wall to keep people in and we want one to keep people out. Because we are awesome and everyone wants to get in on the party.

It's to early to ask Iraq and Afghanistan. It will take several years before they realize the benefit of being free, ruling themselves and having a say in the laws that will rule them. They have never been free. Now they are still hurting from the war. Our people felt the same way after the War of Independence. There was a lot of hurt going around. Many of our forefathers were English and it was hard fighting your kin. Many families were left without a father.and it put a real burden on families. We did we come to realize what we had later? You bet we did and I think Iraq and Afghanistan will too.

Britain, France and Western Europe didn't free themselves. You need to study some history. If not for America, Europe would now be talking German or Russian. Both had the same desire.

because we Russians do never care about our health as much as you Americans, so we turn to a doctor when its already too late... just yesterday i was to the funeral of my grandmother, she died of cancer, but prior this, she had not been paying a slightest attention to the symptoms for almost 2 years.

in the USSR education was entirely free at every school and university etc.

that only proves my point. read thoroughly.

that is, CNN and BBC right?

the Iron Curtain was to keep the West saboteurs and spies out of the USSR.
to keep someone in, you need no iron curtains.

Would the world be a better place without America?

No. There would be a big hole that would drain the seas. Earth would look like the Death Star and Canada would be defenseless against the commies.

That's a bunch of crap. After WWII Europe went back to the way they were. Japan wrote their own Constitution which they still have today. We helped Iraq and Afghanistan form a Constitution, but both of them put in it what they wanted. If some adopted our lifestyle, that isn't our fault. It's probably better than what they had. Noone forced them.

the talk was of the world circa 1990s when the USSR had been destroyed.

but since when a robbery is called 'help' ?

it is your fault. just stop cheating, that is, advertising.

well, for example, is McDonalds better than a normal restaurant?.. by no means. McDonalds is only advertised beyond every measure, shamelessly, with use of politics and policies and other dirt tricks, that's it.

Right, since the fall of the Soviet Union, Russia is in such worse shape. Now you guys can have a little freedom. Be able to own a car without waiting 10 years for one. Hell if McDonalds didn't give you paper cups and plates, you'd still all be drinking out of the same glass from the drink machine you had before McDonalds came there. Is anyone forcing you to go to McDonalds?

I would bet there is no shortage of toilet paper anymore is there? I'm sure Russians have a lot more than they had under the Soviet Union, even with Putin tying himself to the leadership there.

This is why people shouldn't use action movies as a substitute for real world knowledge, lol - I almost stopped reading here

I guess I'll use the South Park episode where England tried to re-conquer America as my "source" for how much of an evil empire England is

Well you wouldn't be able to post here via the internet on an American-owned website ranting on about how "bad" America is - so in a way that'd be a blessing and a curse, lol

the very idea man needs a car is idiotic in itself... the USSR had public transport anyone could afford easily, so let's not make up stories that everyone there dreamt of a car. America idolises cars, yes, but this doesn't mean other nations do the same.

before McDonalds there of course had been many other things than just drink machines, like restaurants and eateries of all kinds, which you are never told about in the USA.

yes. McDonalds does by ever opening its new outlets, thus knocking out a decent food providers.

huh, given the hostility in trade on the part of the West, the USSR did scramble out alright - not bad at all for a new model state USSR was with its new model economy that needed help, not Cold War.

i for one am banned on one American forum, just for pointing out how Hollywod movies are involved in politics and distorting the image of the countries that dared to oppose the USA.

And I'm sure that Russia treats you so much better

I knew a guy who's been to Russia, and he tells me that the cops can regularly demand cash from you on the spot (ex. if they catch you in smoking in a no-smoking area) - and they get away with this for the most part.
