Globalisation, mulriculturalism, mass migration, Islam, isis, demoralization, robotization and mass unemployment, growing world population, environmental degradation, climate change, leftism...

Do you think we need another World War to "fix" the world?
What would you do to avoid (or provoke, pehaps?) WW3?

A pandemic and climate change will do the job just fine. Something survivable for those that prep.

We definitely live in the best times ever given technology (for those that live in developed countries, at least). If people like Kim Jung Un and Trump don't mess it up, a few decades from now will be even better.

WW3 will not happen because no one wins in a nuclear war. Nobody wins and nobody survives a world wide nuclear winter.

We had had 1 and 2. So, for decades now we have been psychologically prepared for number 3. There seems an inevitability to it, doesn't there ?

I'd like for all of us to break out of this mind trap.

I wish I had your confidence, but given how we no longer act responsible towards Russia, as we did the old USSR, due to MAD, there is no confidence here with me. Turning Russia into a great evil force by propaganda, is signaling something, and it is coming from DC, not trump. I think we live in more dangerous times than the old cold war. So, what stops such a war when we literally try to starve out the Russian people? That is an act of war, you better believe it. Russia will just surrender itself to our empire will? You better learn something of Russian history. You look at their losses when Germany tried to take them. Russia, unlike us, are paranoid of forces mustering on their borders. A conventional war with Russia is not gonna happen. And they will not turn over and be conquered, like Libya, and Iraq. I think they would choose to bring their enemies down, forever, and unleash hell, as we will in return. These are dangerous times, created by neocon idiocy.

It seems form your options that you believe over-population is the big underlying problem

I expect that with rising levels of female literacy, employment and access to birth control, will see a slow natural decline in population

Perhaps it would be best if you would define what you mean by "fixing" the world. Do you mean to imply a world without the labels you named above?

like what? What needs fixing. Once you've identified, what solutions are you proposing to accomplish them?

I don't know, it's an abstract question. What needs fixing would be different for different people. :juggle:

You started with these. "Globalisation, mulriculturalism, mass migration, Islam, isis, demoralization, robotization and mass unemployment, growing world population, environmental degradation, climate change, leftism" So are these the things you want to "fix"?

    My response:

I'm hoping we do not end up with another major war.

We have evolved technologically to the point where we could destroy most, if not all, life on this planet.

We have not evolved philosophically to the point where it is fairly sure we will not do it.

No, we have not evolved psychologically enough to have any faith we will not destroy ourselves. We are not psychologically different from earlier man, who waged war. Our psychological tribalism has not changed, except in a scant few enlightened people. We will still kill for an idea, an ideology, whether it is islam or democracy. And we have rich special interests who enrich themselves from war.

Just look at the mentality now, over Russia, with so many people. This is the mentality necessary for war. Hysteria.

What happens if we never get into WW3? Nature can do other things to depopulate easier, natural disasters, disease and famine would be easier than trying to drive people to war.

There will be a WW3 and it won't go nuclear by any nation. I do think nukes would be used by rogues within a govt or outside forces gaining access to them though.

Some good points not really associated with war.

The world is overpopulated. Without many of the genetic modifications we have made to our food supply over the last 50 years, I don't think the world could feed itself.

I believe global warming is a natural phenomena that's been exacerbated by human factors.

The United States, we are the back-to-back world war champs! However, I think that islam will be the trigger. Some crazy ISIS sympathizer will piss of a country like China or Russia in a major way, sparking a response, sparking more responses, sparking what will be a world war
