    Deuteronomy
    Chapter 2

    32-37

And the LORD said unto me, Behold, I have begun to give Sihon and his land before thee: begin to possess, that thou mayest inherit his land. 32 Then Sihon came out against us, he and all his people, to fight at Jahaz. 33 And the LORD our God delivered him before us; and we smote him, and his sons, and all his people. 34 And we took all his cities at that time, and utterly destroyed the men, and the women, and the little ones, of every city, we left none to remain. 36 From Aroer, which is by the brink of the river of Arnon, and from the city that is by the river, even unto Gilead, there was not one city too strong for us: the LORD our God delivered all unto us

Yet another convenient mistranslation from Islamophobes.

    the actual quote is:

    Hadith 4:558

The Prophet said, "I have been made victorious with As-Saba (i.e. an easterly wind) and the people of 'Ad were destroyed by Ad-Dabur (i.e. Prophet who distributed it among four persons: Al-Aqra' bin Habis Al-Hanzali from the tribe of Mujashi, 'Uyaina bin Badr Al-Fazari, Zaid At-Ta'i who belonged to (the tribe of) Bani Nahban, and 'Alqama bin Ulatha Al-'Amir who belonged to (the tribe of) Bani Kilab. So the Quraish and the Ansar became angry and said, "He (i.e. the Prophet, ) gives the chief of Najd and does not give us." The Prophet said, "I give them) so as to attract their hearts (to Islam)." Then a man with sunken eyes, prominent checks, a raised forehead, a thick beard and a shaven head, came (in front of the Prophet ) and said, "Be afraid of Allah, O Muhammad!" The Prophet ' said "Who would obey Allah if I disobeyed Him? (Is it fair that) Allah has trusted all the people of the earth to me while, you do not trust me?" Somebody who, I think was Khalid bin Al-Walid, requested the Prophet to let him chop that man's head off, but he prevented him. When the man left, the Prophet said, "Among the off-spring of this man will be some who will recite the Qur'an but the Qur'an will not reach beyond their throats (i.e. they will recite like parrots and will not understand it nor act on it), and they will renegade from the religion as an arrow goes through the game's body. They will kill the Muslims but will not disturb the idolaters. If I should live up to their time' I will kill them as the people of 'Ad were killed (i.e. I will kill all of them)."

And the arab word for terror is al'iirhab.

    Oops.

I've yet to hear all Christians condemn the acts of Timothy McVeigh, so I guess they are all terrorists.

This really is a fun game you've created, here, take your broad brush back and paint another Masterpiece, Picasso!

Not at all, a person isn't just a product of what books they have read, they are the product of their environment. What right have I to tell a whole religious group they are "pretty dumb" or made a "bad choice". If what you say is representative of Modern Secular Humanism then it looks to me like just another belief system that tells people what to think, sometimes telling them what they think with little evidence. "tyranny is the deliberate removal of nuance" is one of my favourite sayings and you insisting that I am splitting hairs looks a lot like the removal of nuance to me. As does you telling me what I give a "pass" to.

Do we have evidence that all secular humanists have condemned the acts of Timothy McVeigh, and what are we to conclude about secular humanism if specific adherents have not?

If you refuse to look at context and refuse to discern nuance and refuse to ask questions that bring complicated and layered answers, you are either a fool, or a propagandist with an agenda. there is no excuse for turning every color in the world into a shade of black and white and then adding more black or white paint to make the contrast better.

Faithfreedom is absolutely embarrassingly ridiculous.. They don't know what all Muslims believe...and neithr do you.... and the ISIS crowd aren't devout.. They are secular, illiterate of their religion, drinking, raping, killing not going to mosque ..

When they are ordering Islam for Dummies from Amazon, get a clue.

You know what I do when I want to know what 'Muslims' believe? I pick a few I know and trust, and ask THEM how they interpret their book and then I do some independent reading to see if they are leading me completely astray. Its usually wise to know what you don't know about a culture, a religion etc, and probably can't know. I can learn how far away Mars is from Earth, through a quick Google search, but to learn about the Koran and its impact on Muslims a cyber search by itself, is not going to get me far.

No, that's incredibly not true! The Islamic State is SO Islamic that they named their nation after ISLAM!

Perhaps you should order "Dhimmi For Dummies"

    - - - Updated - - -

Tell that to the Islamic State Jihadis who are always quoting the Qur'an, and including "god willing" in almost every paragraph that they write! You need to understand the enemy better than you do, in this WWIII.

That's good news. So ask them "if, just say, Mohammad had sex with a 9 year-old - we'll never know 100% for sure if he did or didn't - would you condemn him as immoral?"
If they can't condemn a person for pedophilia, which is a disgusting FELONY in all moral nations, then you have immoral friends - and of course you'd want to find new, more moral ones. Please let us know what they say.
    Thanks.

If you feel that way then no don't buy into their interpretation of the Islamic texts, but do look at the collection of (damning) verses/hadith that they mention about a topic that shows how perverse the Islamic texts are. Such as this article claiming that Mohammad was a mass-murderer, from the Islamic texts: http://www.faithfreedom.org/challenge/massmurderer.htm#_ftn5

When I have a conversation with a Muslim, your anti- theist agenda will not be part of it. I will not turn my honest inquiry intoharassment because you can't find enough targets here on this forum to keep you entertained.

Show us the TEXTS of MSH that say to kill innocent people....but you can't do that! But one CAN show the texts of religions that say to kill gays, treat women as 1/2 a man, approve slavery, approve of killing non-believers (such as Moses and Mohammad), approve of brutal torture (Jesus will see that us non-believing scum are tortured beyond recognition - reading Revelation and the Jesus-approved "lake of fire"), etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc.

Also, it's not ALL Muslims, or ALL Christians that we condemn, necessarily, as such, but the texts of those vile religions.

You lose, I'm afraid. I think you clearly do understand that they can't condemn a felon/pedophile, so this is your non-reply above. You are hiding your head in the sand as to the horrors of religion (like Obama regarding ISIS.) You actually think that ME (the person who is the messenger), is worse than the perpetrator (Mohammad and the Muslims who will never condemn his heinous barbaric felonies.) That's a moral failure.

Time to raise your moral standards, my friend, to at least intellectually stand up to felonies and immoral behavior.
    Have a great day.

There's not "bigotry" behind trying to shine the light on pedophilia! There is love.

    Here's evidence of Mo's pedo: http://myislam.dk/articles/en/wood was-muhammad-a-pedophile.php

Please provide your evidence that the Islamic texts PROHIBIT sex with kids, or I think you've lost this debate, my man.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

So in other words there are plenty of secular humanists who refused to condemn the act and therefore are complicit in endorsing terror as a tactic. There is not single secular humanist that is not in complete control of what he or she does in response to acts of terror - at least they purport to be, yet they often fail at this most simple and necessary gesture.

The SAME EXACT way that theists "just know" that their one particular unique invisible friend in the sky is the one true correct invisible friend in the sky out of the thousands and thousands on offer (Zeus, Thor, Wotan, Krishna, Nanook, Shiva, Hiruko, etc., etc.) In other words, they don't have evidence, but rather a feeling - a feeling that makes them feel safe that they will magically survive their own death by believing in that one unique invisible man in the sky. They are un-necessarily afraid of their own eventual natural death, sadly.

Again, you can't show us the TEXTS that we use that say to be terrorists, or to kill innocent people, etc. so you failed in your example, I'm afraid. I'm also pretty sure a survey of MSH followers would result in virtually 100% condemnation of terrorism, but many polls of Muslims show disturbingly high support for terrorism, and of course Muslims are not leading an ideological charge against The Islamic State - because The Islamic State's members follow the Islamic texts more closely than the "moderate" Muslims do, of course.

    - - - Updated - - -

I'm afraid that you don't want the TRUTH to be a part of your conversation, only politically-correct "respect" (but "respect" for pedophilia is not respect for innocent little children, and their #1 role model was a pedo - but you don't dare address that.)
    Take care.

Probs is, FreeSee (no poo!), your average moderate Muslim condemns the actions of terrorists, but they're just not in a position to say so as loudly as we do. They have families and loved ones they want to keep safe - and being on the 'inside' means anything they announce publicly could get back to the very people they condemn. It's really quite a difficult position to be in.

Meantime, I personally know several who believe the way out of this mess is to model a different Islam for the next generation - one more aligned to the loving spirituality we see in some sects (Sufism, etc). That's not to say they want to change things entirely - it's just a reconnection with the dignity, grace, and peace of a more spiritual Islam.

Please provide evidence that your concern for the victims of pedophilia extends past using them as props in your personal bigoted agenda. Most acts of child abuse or pedophilia have little no religious connection. Korans and Bibles and Torahs are nowhere near. they involve the grooming of children by predators who know them well, and use positions of trust with family members and access. They are fathers, uncles, teachers, coaches, and summer camp counselors

Can you offer up some posts where you discussed this issue in a sober reasoned way ,outside of Islamic text discussions or catholic priests? You know, where you actually talk about what child abuse does to its victims, how to prevent it, and how to treat the perpetrators rather than use a very serious issue as a weapon in your vendetta.

I am much more interested in getting people to learn the signs of potential grooming behavior, getting kids to report abuse, and getting society to treat this epidemic aggressively, than getting anyone to read and research 1000 year old scriptures . I'd like evidence you cared enough about real lives and solutions to post about them. You use that word 'love' a lot. I never sense anything but fake and shallow demagoguery.

You make a good point. But I argue that reducing pedophilia through those other means is much much harder to do, because religion is so incredibly EASY to refute. Look, to argue against religion all one has to do is point out the insanity of believing in a talking snake and donkey (Bible), or a flying horse with wings and a human head (Islamic "buraq".) It's like taking candy from a baby, so therefore quite helpful. For example, the "nones" (their religion? "none") have sky-rocketed in the last 20 years alone! We. Are. Winning.
    Jesus is losing.
I realize that the UNDERLYING problem, the BIG problem, is of course faith. Other solutions (not attacking faith) are not as underlying and basic as faith is. We are in WWIII, and faith is the main (but not only) problem, and insanely even our last 15 years worth of Commanders In Chief don't understand that fact. Incredible.

Ok, thanks for not using "Fece" like I brought up. :)

Probs is: there is no "dignity, grace, and peace" in beliefs that take people away from reality into an insane world of "angels", "jinns", an invisible "heaven", a magic "hell", a flying horse, a mass-murderer being the #1 role model for all time, etc., etc.
