My reaction is already pre-planned. Locate the shooter, draw, aim, smooth squeeze on the trigger.

 

I have had more attempts on my life than you can shake a stick at. Two guys pulled hatchets. Three guys pulled tire irons right in front of cops. I slam and bam like it aint no thang.

Eating lunch, three guys said I owed them money, and if I didn't pay on the spot, they were going to their car, and gonna shoot me. I went to the phone, and said, our mutual friend will tell you that the money I gave him to pay you, was pocketed by the woman you told us to pay, while you were jailed.

I palmed an icepick at the phone, and was ready to kill me three rubes in seconds. Luckily for them all, they relented, at the last possible moment. Homey don't play.

 

Sounds like you live a Risky life style, at least at that time, borrow money from low life creeps, that can get Ugly fast........... If creeps pull hatchets on Me, and I do not borrow money, they will hear the fat person sing......

And I would add that simple logic says that everything he said only applies if you are certain there is only one shooter. If there is more than one your only hope is to play dead, as the only thing even armed resistance to one will accomplish is to draw the fire of any others to yourself.

There are perils fraught in ASSUMING you are a good candidate to survive gunning down another human unscathed, even disregarding legal issues.

Perhaps, like ABORTION, which also can have an emotional impact, we should REQUIRE counseling, for the good of the GOODGUY SHOOTER.

So, how this would work is, for the good of the potential gun carrier, you MUST undergo counseling, to make sure you are HEALTHY enough to dismember, a society member.

The attached article said that the victims were one third shot in head. MANY BULLETS in most victims. So, he sprayed. And, since they were like sardines, he went for the recognizably human, the head.

In a shooting situation the first thing to do is find shelter. A study found that police who FIRST find a safe location and THEN start shooting have a vastly greater chance of surviving.

 

Too many factors involved to really say anything as a hard statement of fact, lots of advice given is geared more towards a passive response or non fighting posture, in situations I have been in the middle of, Clubs and Discos, stampedes were more a danger than the shooter, I found that by staying in parts of the club away from a possible stampede, and quickly attacking the shooter while he was being stampeded and distracted, yielded good results.

A good reliable sidearm is critical, either a well prepared 1911, or a Glock, good sights, I prefer a full size sidearm over a sub compact.
