Legalizing it? Isn't it already legal?

Anyway a couple of girls from my high school became hookers in New Orleans. Scuzzy, unhealthy, desperate life. Felt sorry or them and disgusted. Both died young, of course (one before 30, one before 50). Don't really see the difference between hookers and porn actors. Forgive me if I won't call them "stars."

They should go ahead and legalize prostitution similar to Europe, tax it, regulate it and provide penalties to anyone outside the laws and regulations. Get the pimps and traffickers out of the equation.

I myself would avoid ****ing a porn star.

I prefer going where no other man has gone been before.

    I wouldn't have a problem getting a BJ from a porn star.

Frankly having government approve is not the sole instance of legitimization. Democrats would not whine all the time over the Iraq war for instance since it was approved by Congress yet to them it is not legitimate. I suppose as to porn, I think if you watch a lot of news, you won't hear them refer to porn as legitimate. What do you think of Porn? Would you want your daughter engaged in this business? What if your wife did it part time?

Are we being Frank with each other? I got one in NV from a hot woman who told me she would be the next Linda Lovelace. She told me her sad story of being dumped by a boyfriend. She offered me a drink once she got done.

Only made it to Reno a half a dozen times but I remember Las Vegas during the tail end of being "Sin City" during the mid 70's and early 80's.
Back when Frank Rosenthal was running the Stardust and Anthony Spilotro "The Ant" was ****ing up Vegas for everyone.
I miss the old Vegas when the Mafia ran the casinos and everyone was treated like a high roller.

They said if you couldn't get laid in Vegas you were likely gay.

Every weekend young women many being teachers from L.A. would flood the casinos by the hundreds just to make a couple of hundred over the weekend and returning back to L.A. on Sunday night. They weren't professionals, just part time who had real 9 to 5 jobs Monday through Friday.

Maybe you put a different emphasis on the word 'legitimate'. I see 'legitimate' in this sense, exactly as is it with respect to President Trump. There is no doubt in my mind that he was legitimately elected to the office, when the electoral college so deemed him and that will be true regardless of the popular vote or scandal as long as the electoral college exists. Its purpose is to legitimize an election result. So the process of regulation of business defines legitimacy in commerce. What is a legitimate form of business or not is decided by the legislative branch through its right to regulate commercial activity.
None of this describes a less formal social sanction of a given role or practice. Whether Trump should be seen a statesman, or political leader of the nation or a moral example of Presidential power and prestige is a whole different matter. Whether a porn actor should be seen as a proper or respectable choice for a profession or the porn business as a respectable and proper business activity is not the same as legitimacy.

No I do not want my daughter or prospective husband ( I am gay) to become porn stars. The profession may be legitimate, but the social role of the industry is decidedly sordid and stigmatized. Then again I am not so sure the pharma or oil industries are much better considering their scandals.

I read some where that most males in the porn industry are either gay or bi.

If it weren't for porn, the World Wide Web (WWW.) wouldn't have not gotten off the ground and we all would be back to reading real news in the newspapers and reading books.

And think of a world without MSNBC (Microsoft News Broadcasting Company) What a wonderful world it would have been.

If they're not being forced into it it's strictly about $$$, plain and simple. Everyone has an unalienable right to earn a living, as long as no one is harmed.

    Do they profit?

Satisfying a legitimate need - which obviously porn producers don't do. You're welcome.

They have a job to do.
They provide entertainment and others enjoy watching them work.

    1. 'Need' precludes a hell of a lot from candy, to fine art, to a cup of coffee, to a hamster. 2. You are an absolute NOBODY to decide what is or is not legitimate . You're welcome.

Porn has been around since cave dwellers started drawing on their walls.

    str2_ccz_relaxserra.jpg (Brazil)

Acting in porn films is a choice people make and I dont have a problem with it. Nor am I shocked and appalled that our former billionaire playboy president was once involved with a porn queen. IMHO, its nobody's business but Melanie's. (Even if she got mad and left, he'd still be our president.)

My opinion of a porn actor/actress: there isn't anyone on the planet who is lower, except for murderers, rapists or someone who steals the life savings of the elderly, like Bernie Madoff or TV evangilists.

Agree. I guess I would put really bad/evil people one rung lower, but they have no respect for themselves and I have no respect for them.
