Dude, I've lived in areas with neighborhood watch, and been a volunteer myself.
Stalking a teenager around the neighborhood is not normal behavior. If anything, Zimmerman could have introduced himself, asked Trayvon where he was headed, and offered him a ride. He chose not to do any of that.

Even if Trayvon was aware that there was a neighborhood watch, he had no way of knowing that Zimmerman was neighborhood watch - since Zimmerman chose not to tell him. Trayvon just defended himself against a stalker, which he had the legal right to do.

He was not "stalking" him. He was doing what a neighborhood watch volunteer is supposed to do, call in to the police suspicious acting strangers in the neighborhood. The trial gave lots of evidence that Martin initiated physical contact. There was little to nothing to suggest that Zimmerman initiated physical contact.

I believe neighborhood watch are also supposed to follow the police's lead, which would include backing off when told to do so.

As for Trayvon initiating physical contact, he had every right to defend himself against someone that presented as a potential threat, particularly since that person chose not to identify himself or explain why he was following a kid around at night.

Jesus christ, do you think that zimmerman is the first person to ever claim self defense. These questions have been askex or answered thousands of tines. The case law is clear. Force or threat of force. That is it. That us the standard for yse if self defense. It is not up for your interpretation.

As exciting as this conversation is, you might want to try typing with two hands.

Forgetting about Zimmerman and Trayvon for a minute, let's look at a hypothetical situation:
A teenager is walking home at night, and is being followed by a stranger in a car.
The teenager tries taking a different route, and the man follows on foot.
The teenager runs and hides, and the man stays in the area searching for them.
After a few minutes, the teenager approaches the person and confronts them by asking what their problem is.
The man doesn't answer, and doesn't identify himself.

It doesn't make a difference whether the teenager is black, white, hispanic, male, female...
It doesn't make a difference whether the man is old, young, white, black, hispanic...
It is reasonable for that teenager to see the person as a potential threat that poses a risk of physical harm (after all, why else would they be chasing a teen around?), and that physical harm would be unlawful.

The law is very clear, and doesn't require interpretation. A person can use non-lethal force to defend themselves against the threat harm. They don't have to wait to be harmed.

The more reason the man who happens to be a neighborhood watchman will be suspicious of that person hiding and avoiding him especially since that person is hooded up.

The tennsager confronted the watchman by punching him and uttering all kinds of racial slur, the watchman reacted by defending himself he had no time to identify himself as he is being swarm with racial slur and punches worse was taken down to the ground and the teenager went all out not letting up even after the watchman told him to stop attacking him.

The teenager did not gave the watchman a chance to identify himself.

Yes it does not matter what the skin color is but for Trayvon and his supporters it does.

It is also seen by the watchman that that teenager is planning something bad and he was right when the teenager suddenly jump him uttering all kinds of racial slurs and started to punch him to the ground the watchman's only option is to defend himself before he get murdered and worse rob.

No threat was upon Trayvon, the threat was on the watchman Mr. Zimmerman. Mr. Zimmerman would have escorted Trayvon home safe if Travyon had not attacked him. Trayvon was doubt the aggressor.

Nobody has ever twisted your words. Tell me why you think why someone cannot be racist because they are from the negro race.

Yeah, because wearing a hood when it's raining is just weird...
If he wanted to know who Trayvon was, and where he was heading, he could have introduced himself and asked Trayvon if he needed a lift. Instead, he harassed a teenager and shot him when the teen defended himself.

Actually, according to Zimmerman's recreation of the events for police, he admits that Trayvon asked him what his problem was and that he didn't identify himself or explain.

As previously indicated, Zimmerman had the opportunity at any point while he was following Trayvon around, including while he was still in his truck, and he exchanged words with Trayvon prior to any physical contact - none of which were "I'm with the neighborhood watch..."

Because Zimmerman had a history of reporting people as "suspicious" just because they were black, including a 9 year old kid...
The only reason Zimmerman didn't approach Trayvon differently was because of his bias.

What did he see to make him believe Trayvon was planning something bad? A kid walking on paved areas while talking on the phone...?

How would Trayvon know that the guy who had been following him around wasn't a threat, especially when he wouldn't identify himself when asked what his problem was?
Trayvon wasn't doing anything wrong, so Zimmerman had no reason to follow him in the first place, especially after being told by police that he should stop following.
Zimmerman would have escorted him home?! He already had a chance to do that, and didn't.

Dude, I think he was referring to Zimmerman (who was half hispanic), especially given the title of this thread... I have no idea why you're suddenly making it about "the negro race"...

I'm choosing to believe he was also kidding, since the idea that any one race is incapable of racism is, in itself, racist.

Well, I was just at the paint store, and I have this half bath I haven't painted yet, and I got inspired and thought, I am going to paint it the exact same shade as Zimmerman. So I pulled up a pic of Zimmy and was browsing the paint swatches and I decided his exact shade is Umber. So thats what I went with, probably going to do a white trim, its the Zimmerman bathroom now, I can take pics if anyone is interested.

Buzz off with your hypothetical. I've told you before. Self defense has been argued thousands of times in court. Zimmerman isn't the first and we don't need bogus hypotheticals because in America we have this thing called jurisprudence. The case law is clear. Force or threat of force.

Wearing a hood and acting suspicously worse running away or hiding from the watchman that is = suspicious.

Travyon had a chane to call 911 to report a "crack" man is following him instead he chose to assualt him. Yes he ask what his problem was and before Zimmerman could answer Trayvon attacked him.

Trayvon did not gave Zimmerman the chance to properly ID himself instead Trayvon immediately went on attack mode. Zimmerman while in his truck called 911 Travyon called his girlfriend who lied about her age.

Zimmerman did not approach Trayvon differently was because Trayvon was acting suspiciously and he was right when Trayvon attacked him.

Zimmerman saw a man not a kid, a man hooded to cover his ID, acting suspiciously.

Trayvon told his girlfriend a "crack" man his following him instead of calling 9/11 he decided to attack Zimmerman because Zimmerman was a white man.

Trayvon was at first nor doing anything wrong until he started to act suspiciously and attacked Zimmerman.

Yup, Zimmerman would have escorted Trayvon home safe and sound instead Trayvon attacked Zimmerman for being a white man or maybe..... Trayvon was upset because Zimmerman interrupted what Trayvon was about to do, and that is to commit a crime Trayvon did not knew that Zimmerman was arm if he had Trayvon probably would not have attacked Zimmerman????

First off the people in the police call center are not generally Police. These people on the phone are not issuing orders to people. Second The person on the phone to Zimmerman did not tell him to back off. She said "We do not need you to do that". As neighborhood watch he is supposed to look for suspicious people in the neighborhood and report it to the police. He is allowed to watch where people move and on what streets, so that he may report that info to the police.

And no you are incorrect. You are not allowed to initiate physical contact because a neighborhood watch guy is watching you.

Reread the legislation I provided. If a random stranger is harassing you at night (especially if you have no way of knowing he is neighborhood watch) and you believe there is potential for physical harm, you have a right to initiate physical contact.

Are you seriously making claims about what I would or wouldn't do?
At what point did following a teenager around at night with no cause become more acceptable than speaking to a stranger?

    - - - Updated - - -

Right, and that's exactly what Trayvon was reacting to.

You need a definition? How about some synonyms: pester, persecute.

Following someone around at night without identifying yourself or providing any reason when asked would definately fall in this category of behavior...

Don't they also ask, and identify themselves if someone asks them why they're chasing teenagers around the neighborhood at night?

no they do not need to identify themselves. They are just residents volunteering to look for suspicious activity.

A very short sighted concept, IMHO. Everyone all the time should act in a manner that is beneficial to those involved.
