Should've this morning when my alarm went off at 4:30 and it was raining, complete with thunder & lightning. It's taken alot of self-talk to get me to work this week. That usually leads to a mental health day off.

 

I hear ya, g/f....taking Monday off for my birthday was a great idea. Then I had to come back to work and it's been difficult, to say the least. When everybody up here starts getting on my nerves, it's almost time for a mental health day.

 

The last word there, apologise, is spelled with an S instead of a Zed. Didn't know this was on a European server until the data base errors.

It seems this is not an American site after all.

 

I wouldn't put much stock in a misspelled word. Whoever creates the messages here ain't much of a writer... obviously.

Well today is the third day in a row that I got up smelling smoke. The whole valley is blanketed in it. It seems that as of this morning there are 12 or so fires burning over in Idaho. All of that smoke is drifting our way. At times it gets so thick that it is hard to see the mountains. A lot of the tourists have been leaving early because of it to. It is to far away for any hot ashes to fall here as it is over 100 miles away at the least. But that darn smoke just comes in over the mountains and then settles here for a while. Hopefully they will be able to get the fires put out before to long.

And how has your day been going. Better than mine I hope.

 

heard about those fires, a little lady fire fighter was deceased, from a fallen tree earlier in the week.

wonder what causes them, if its nature, or men not following smokeys advice and not properly disposing of their camp fires.

 

Wildfires are scary... you stay safe now, ya hear?

We've got that West Nile thing going on. 10 deaths in the city, mostly around the rich part of town, so it's getting a lot of attention. They're spraying now... from trucks and from the air. If I evaporate, y'all will know 'they' got me.

 

Most of them are caused by lightning. A small amount of them are caused by careless campers. Some of them are caused by people throsing lit cigarettes out of their car and some of them are caused by arson.

oh shucks, schools back in session summer break is over, remember back in the day that was so depressing.

 

Morning y'all....we're expecting some rain later. That's the most exciting news around here right now. Students are starting to move back to campus. Nice, quiet summer is almost over. But, we're having some "teaser" fall days and I love that! Mornings are nice right now, and we're only supposed to be in the 80's for highs the next few days. Brrrrrrr......LOL

 

Another smokey day in Jackson today. Smartie you get yourself a case of skeeter repellent now, ya hear. None of the fires are close to us here in Jackson. So far no fires here. Luck of the Irish I think. Hope it stays that way to. Right now it is 8:50 and the temperature is still only 60 degrees. A blanket of snow sure would be nice right about now. But we have at least 2 months before that can happen. Now all of you bums out there PLEASE, be careful and take care of yourselfs and try to have a really great day.
