The accomplishment will be impressive if it actually happens. At this point is is simply vague speculation though. It is not something that has already happened, like walking on the moon or landing stuff on Mars or sending probes out of the solar system.

Wrong again. We did design and construct your Mars rovers and we have a spacecraft heading to Venus as well as one landing on one of Jupiters moons. You are aware that many see exploration of Mars as waste of moeny and concentrate more on jupiter and saturns moons. NASA went into a dead end and can´t get out. And yes we landed a spaceprobe on an asteroid, collected sampels and send it back earth. Something NASA failed to do sucessful.

Also there is something i don´t understand. Why has USA the lowest liferate of any modern nation worldwide? Japanese tend to get at least 10 years older. You have also the highest cancer rate and the highest infant mortality of the developed world. With all those medical advancments that should not happen? Whats wrong with your system? Do you just give it Japan and prevent your people from using it, or why that bad results?

When did I say Japan was not a major science nation? I never even implied it. Of course Japan is a major science nation.

You were implying that Japan is the TOP science nation, and that is clearly not the case. They trail behind the US in many ways.

If there was no difference, those nations would be doing what we are doing (and have already done). But they are not. The only nation that is really comparable in my opinion is Russia. And then only because of what they inherited from the Soviets.

I used to think the Europeans were ahead on Fusion, but the latest Fusion breakthrough was American. They definitely lead us when it comes to particle accelerators and related science. At least at the moment. The Large Hadron Collider kicks ass.
