If the leftist here are OK with this then why not give up ALL sex specific lockerrooms and bathrooms in all schools, boys and girls all dress and shower together.

    Why not?

Would you be willing to answer my question? Should we segregate locker rooms and bathrooms or just have one and why do you think as you do? I am trying to get a grasp on the side of those that think we should allow transgender people to use these facilities and I believe you are a proponent. If not I retract the question.

Risk assessment and opportunity. If no rules are in place and males allowed to enter a females facilities and Vice versa it would seem to be a perfect place to attract a terrible outcome. LGBT or straight, one would want the kids to have some sort of privacy and feel safe.

I need to ask this, why is it so important to the LGBT community to have this policy in place and if a bisexual is attracted to both, this in of itself creates a unique problem.

I do not believe this to benefit either party.

    Of course.
I think that should be left up to the property owners. Because it's their property and their prerogative.
I'm not a proponent per se. Really my argument comes in at this point. We base gender on outward appearance. It's easy to say we base it on sex but we don't. I know a couple of cross dressers that make very convincing women. How would you know without taking off their clothing? This isn't even a trans gender person. I just don't think it's a practical discussion, we operate under a certain amount of trust in public. You trust that the cute blond in the mini skirt with the wide hips and the flirtatious smile is a woman because stripping her would be inappropriate.

So it's not that I'm a proponent or an opponent, it just seems like an impossible thing to enforce.

Please don't, you seem to be the first person that I've come across that is interested in an honest open discussion today. And I don't fault you in the least for your assumption, as you can see my position is not easily understood based on the conversation that has taken place.

How so? How would it be different from the way it is now? Can't a pervert man dress up like a woman and enter a woman's bathroom already? As I understand it they don't check crotches in public bathrooms.

How is the risk to children increased considering what I wrote above? Are you proposing a separate children's bathroom?

That is a good question, and I don't really know. It's not important to me, it just seems odd that in all this time men dressed as women seemed to go unnoticed. Just until we started referring to some of them as transgender it seems to have become a problem.

Yes I am, don't try and get it twisted. But now we open the door to more possibility for Pedophiles. How does that make it any better?

Or are you for equal opportunity?

    What is the benefit?

I will also add as much as you see no problem with it we still have to account for the parents and how we should respect what they want and at what comfort level for privacy and safety is desired. Not all parents or kids are the same as you.

This is not a one way street here.

Introducing another sex into the equation. Double the odds? For me this is not my argument. My argument is not pervs but privacy. Care to share your thoughts on privacy?

    This is my issue also.

They can argue all they want that TGs aren't going to touch children.... but why should these children be subject to this invasion of privacy.
Girls having to share their bathroom with boys or men is ridiculous, and the only argument to defend it is to argue that no one is going to be touched.

TG teachers allowed in the little girls room? Hopefully they are forced to use the adult rooms.

I don't equate TGs in the bathrooms with pedophilia... but I do equate it to liberal madness.

Isn't is funny how people ignore reality? I will never understand how people go about feeling that their agenda is more important than someones safety.

Their is NOTHING the left wont sacrifice if it means getting votes.

    - - - Updated - - -

Until one manly male teacher decides one day he feels like a 5 year old girl and demands he gets to use the same bathroom as those he feels are his peers.

    Libs will defend it.

This policy has run amuck and I can not figure out how it benefits anyone. In my mind nothing good comes from it as a parent.

    stay tuned

As far as it's concerned, it should be left up to who owns the property. If they cater to a lot of mothers and fathers who feel safer with two separate bathrooms segregated by the sex you appear to be, it would be in their interest to provide for them.

And since we are thinking about other people, what of the trans youth? A trans girl Matt be in danger going into the boys bathroom. A trans boy May as well.

So what do we do? Just say to hell with the trans people? Can accommodations be made? Should accommodations be made?

Here is the the benefit. Our society is judged by how we treat the least among us. Now I personally can't imagine feeling like my buddy is the wrong sex. How uncomfortable how perverted how wrong that would make me feel. I've felt with being attracted to the same sex and that was no picnic.

Do we place trans people in alternative schools? Do we force them to deal with it because it isn't our problem or do we show them compassion for something they may find to be extremely difficult?

I can't understand it, I've tried. But we can empathize. So I'm appealing to that part off you that emphasizes with parents and their children.

Do transgender children just deserve the hard knocks?

I absolutely agree. These issues are hard to impossible to understand let alone explain to our children. Nobody explained it to me. I met a transgender person before she was a she and watched her suffer some nasty things that you or I may never have the displeasure. She was an adult and she had a wife that stood by her through it and still does so in that regard she is lucky.

So I do understand that people object to it. And I'm not saying their objections are not legitimate. But the cat is out of the bag, what do we do?

we will soon have private unisex bathrooms nationwide, I think this is a good thing, I do not think children should be taking group showers with the same gender or mixed genders

courts have already ruled its not legal to have separate restrooms based on race, I am sure the same will apply to gender if the transgenderphobes push the matter up through the courts

Calm down, the hyperbole is not necessary.

So you are saying the reason we have sexually segregated restrooms is to protect children from pedophiles?

I'm sorry, I don't see it. Reading your post again isn't going to put more information into it.

Explain how this protects children, I always thought it was about privacy for adults.

    Please give further explanation.

Privacy is all inclusive to protect both straight and LGBT. How do we obtain this with the policy?

This is kind of a catch 22. Kind of like my argument against gun control, somebody who wants to murder somebody isn't going to think, "shucks, now I can't because I might go to jail for having a gun"

It's the same argument, a pedophile isn't going to say "shucks I guess I can't molest children because it's illegal for me to go into the women's bathroom." Besides how often are children sexually assaulted in public bathrooms?

It just didn't make sense. The reason for sex segregated bathrooms was really to give women privacy.

There are male children and there are pedophiles that prey on them too. Where is the concern for them?

    - - - Updated - - -

You can't. It's generally obtained through mutual respect.

If that is the case then it is bad policy, it trumps on everyone's right to privacy equally and should be formally retracted.

Glad to hear that in some states people still have common sense and don't wanna see 6 feet tall man with wig on his head in bathroom for "kids"
Hope that officials will understand that they liberalism will never lead to "sunny future"!

The only reason we have privacy is because we have mutual respect for each other's privacy. Policy is absolutely powerless to enforce it.
