If you look at my other posts, I'm speaking of the past few decades.

You missed the whole point there chief. Arts shouldn't be dictated by politics. Hollywood is liberal, they are very open about that. The corporation that owns the art should show no political influence.

    - - - Updated - - -

    Never said it wasn't.

    it was a good movie.

why are you making this issue, once again, about feminism?

why do you hate feminism sooo much?

why can't men and women be equal?

And male super heroes don't have the same effect on men? Yes, they do. :)

You: ""You don't see men demanding that Charlies' Angels be remade with men, do you ? Why must everything be equal ?""

Men are free to make any movie using any gender they want......

Why must you stick to gender stereotypes?

I imagine you still believe women shouldn't vote or bother their pretty little heads with business matters......or read newspapers or own their own property (OOOH , that one will go right to their heads! ), or be able to keep their own wages without having to turn them over to their father or husband....

Must be miserable for you to live in the 21 st century.....

are you also mad that a black man is taking over the Rocky series?

are you asking yourself "why must whites and blacks be equal?"

It was already well established that she had skills in melee combat and she gets her ass thoroughly kicked until she has her "use the Force" moment . . . you know, which seems to be a common theme in the series. And while she had the upper hand when the battle ended, the battle ended because she and Kylo Ren were forceful separated. The fight isn't even over yet.

Does she advance in her powers quickly? Yes. Kylo Ren probably did as well, seeing as he displays powers that are far greater than those seen by other villains in the series. The Force sensitive characters seem more powerful in this movie. It's almost as if, I don't know, the Force has awakened or something. Seriously, why pretend that these themes are anything unusual? They really aren't. No one cared when it was male characters that it happened to, so why care now that it involves a female character?

I just got through watching Kung Fu Panda for the first time, and it has all of the same tropes. What SJW evil genius was behind that one?

What sort of training did he have? All Sith and Jedi seem to be long gone. He has a big, fancy lightsaber but doesn't seem to have much discipline or training to go with it.

Even Finn, a stormtrooper who may have some training with swords, manages to injure Kylo Ren. He would not have lasted a second against any of the Jedi or Sith masters.

The Force doesn't seem to care about male/female or size or really training. I found it a stretch that she could do Jedi mind tricks with no training.

The big question will be whether her anger over being left behind by her parents will cause her to turn to the dark side.

A black kid played the new Karate Kid, rather than a white kid.

"why must blacks and whites be equal??"

    For freaking sure!!!

I felt the same way, the bungling males saved by heroic kick ass female... Best example , A female so femalishly female that she outclasses a trained sith Lord within 10 minutes of figuring out she has the force. Speaking of that (*)(*)(*)(*), whats up with none Jedi's using light sabers?

I also enjoyed the movie, but definitely had a liberal agenda.I do not mind strong female leads, but this was over board and reeked of forced Political correctness.

Couldn't agree more. Good movie but obvious agenda. If someone denies that than they are very ignorant.

    There were so many elements....

Han Solo was neutered, and executed representing the old confident Male (even calling him father figure). They literally killed the father (Paternalism) by a confused weak angst ridden emotional "boy"( Long hair and feminine features)....Now Princesses. .I mean excuse me general Leia is a proud single mother with criminal son. Just another example can bring up multiple more

Not to mention the black guy had the main role while helping the dominant white girl (cue the race card).

"why was the black guy able to shoot straight?"

Did you get this notion from a right wing talk radio show????????

I'd be reluctant to admit that I thought it up on my own, if I were you!!!!!!!!

Star Wars is escapist fantasy, and nothing more.

The Rey character, played exceptionally well by Daisy Ridley, if the franchises best hope for long term survival. It needed to kick start its narrative and add some young, strong characters.

You can't possibly ruin Ghostbusters. It was dumb and boring to begin with.

Havent seen the movie yet, but it's Disney. Of course they are going to count the colors and genders and make sure their diversity list is properly filled in.
This review pretty much sums it all up in what they think is worth mentioning about the film. A PC checklist.
    http://touch.latimes.com/#section/-1/article/p2p-85379380/

Make sure to tell us that Women dress themselves...for themselves lol.

Whew got the Latino, a Black Woman...and a role that was going Male changed to be a Female in what i'm sure they thought would add something to the character, but reviews seem to think Christies character didnt really add up to much.

Dont worry, noone forgot about gender roles.

And heres the worst "litmus test" IMO, that people actually are thinking about.

I think it's pretty obvious that there were the usual PC messages sent with the film, but again...it's Disney. This is what they do. I'm still planning to check the flick out, as it looks great....despite all of this PC narrative being pushed.

This is the sort of deep thought that gives Trump 30% in the GOP primary polls.

I agree. But to be specific, Kylo is a Surpeme Snoke, not a Sith Lord. But either way, there is no way in hell this little girl with bare bones experience in anything would be able to figure out how to beat him so soon. But, you gotta make the feminists happy !

did it bother you that Luke was able to fight Darth Vader after barely a day of training?

of course not, cause Luke was a guy and your can handle suspension of disbelief when it comes to male characters. But not female characters, it seems.

You mean before or after getting his hand cut off ? Luke also was about to die by the hands of the Emperor before Vader saves him.
