So, The President welcomed the German Chancellor and shook her hand. At a news conference Trump wouldnt shake her hand after media requests followed by her request...why should he have to? This is yet another example that the US president is not a puppet, not a mainstream politician...he is himself. What the American people voted for....or perhaps what they wouldnt vote for (H). Germany might feel its a good idea to open their doors to vast numbers of muslims....but as trump implied, they have little in common. So, this man does it his way. The media is not getting what they want. I say thats a good thing.
Yes that was a good thing. Let Merkel take notice. Better yet, why can't her plane fall into the ocean on the way back?
No he is a rude bastard who thinks he does not have to touch a woman over the are of 22 - and THOSE he does not shake hands with women............
Here we see it everyone, the REAL face of the New "Conservatism" Let's wish death on a foreign leader because she has given aid to refugees fleeing war instead of joining us in our Holy Crusade to exterminate 75% of the Earth's populations. Deus Vult.
So not shaking hands with the leader of an important ally is a good thing? They have shared the burden fighting in Afghanistan, Iraq and ISIS. They share intel with us to help defend Americans and our country's interest around the world. He is also starting to strain relations with another important ally. The UK which shares intel and fights and fought alongside the US in Iraq, Afghanistan and against ISIS.
This is something that needs to be pointed out more. These little slights of FRIENDLY foreign leaders by this ******bag may make our conservatives feel Oh So Manly but they cost us millions and may someday cost our intelligence operatives their lives. This jerkwad goes out of his way to be a vindictive bullying ******* with everyone and that is not the kind of person most people want to do business with, good businessman or not, (which he isn't.)
That was an insane moment and this clown will easily go down as the worst occupant of the White House ever.
Good for PRESIDENT Trump. Don't want to derail the thread but Obama would have been apologizing to her for NOT taking more refugees into the country.
And those who complain that the president is disrespected cheer once again at his disrespect for others.
You know guys, you do have relevant posts, opinions. I've advocated on this forum that l believe Trump deserves a chance, because 1. He was elected. Dont like it? Work to change the system 2. He does not fit the mould of the regular president in that protocol, manners, showing respect and so on is very different. However, the world is made up of people, all individuals with their quirks. Leaders of all other countries will soon get to know how to best communicate with this rather difficult individual. But there is a spin off....economically, internationally, immigration, North Korea and other future conflicts, jobs, to name some top issues Trump just might surprise you in his handling of them. He wont sit on his hands. He will act. The real problem for Americans is not knowing how good he'll be as President. Those that have no faith at all are guessing and condemned him before one day in office. Those in support are sick and tired of the Hillarys of the political scene. That brings me back to the Chancellor and her visit. She like the many others will learn that Trump is for his country. If he thinks the chancellor has ruined her country and doesnt share any common ground why would he exchange heaps of pleasantries?. There is one reason why....he aint no common politician with a fake smile.
Why shake hands? Because its the civilized mannerly thing to do. Trump insulted Germany and Germans and trashed our allies. The GOP is turning against him. They think he's delusional.
Trump can't win. No matter what he does, some propaganda parrot is going to whine about something. Just ignore the losers.
He can't win because he is lazy, uneducated and uninformed. It takes more than bully posturing to be president.
No kidding.. His EXCUSERS say he doesn't have to shake hands because he's NOT a politician. Trump doesn't even have reasonably good manners.
That's hilarious. You don't like his politics, okay. He's certainly not lazy, uneducated and uninformed. Why not just be honest and admit he stands for everything you dislike.
Oh yes he is lazy, uneducated and uninformed. Look at his "worst" list of 50 and his lies about wiretapping.. He made the wiretapping accusation without a shred of evidence and expected Congress to dig up the proof. He has trashed ALL our allies.. and repeated his lies about the Brits. He's either all those things or he's just delusional..
What you don't get is the GOP was always anti Trump. Trump is an outsider who is shaking up the entrenched powers and the establishment fears him on both sides of the isle. This is why Trump was elected.
Israel is our ally. He hasn't trashed Israel or Britain, our two main allies. Hasn't trashed Canada. You just don't like the fact he's President. Just admit it.
Yes, he has trashed Britain. He accused them of helping Obama to wiretap him. As to the topic of the thread: In this case, I have to give Trump a pass. I think he was just not paying attention and didn't hear the calls for shaking hands. He DID shake hands with her during the press conference.
The Left has wished for Trump's death how many time already, pray tell? Merkel has betrayed Germany, Europe and the West!
He didn't trash Britain as a nation. There are factions in every country that oppose the administration.
