Dr. Fauci is also making money off of this too. As he peddles his face to each and every network, multiple times in a row. This virus has been the excuse to essentially overthrow our government, put us into a Soviet-style dictatorship for an "undetermined" amount of time.

Governments have long sought to control their own populations, and this is the perfect excuse to do it. It just so happens that anyone who loves this country and knows this country's lore, that these political transformations are abhorrent to a free thinking people.

Everyone can see, through regular media and even more so through social media, what is happening. They are the ones living out there who actually have to worry about making ends meet. The president does not, and nor do most of the people surrounding him.

No, we're not becoming afraid because the reporter said they were. I acknowledge our fear. But it's not totally by this virus. It's by our transformation into the Soviet Union. There was literally a youtube video where a guy cursed out a reporter. If this is the "new America", it's WAY worse than Trump's presidency ever was.

It's an America where our civil rights and liberties are secondary to the diktat of the government. And what they want to have is an official spokesperson, enter in Mike Pence.

You call it childish immature nature, Trump sees what many are seeing: The destruction of American civilization. One hype, one executive order at a time.

Do you not also see the massive liability, in moral, legal, and financial terms, that would be laid on the table if governments did nothing? This is America. The same end result would happen, i.e. the infection rate crippling society, but faster, and when it passed the lawsuits would begin. Everyone would be carping about what the governments didn't do and how egregious it was. How criminal it was.

i think it's safe to assume the complainers havent seen much if any, but read a blogger's article on salon.com and immediately became outraged over 1 minute out of 100 minutes. standard sjw stuff to be honest.

There's massive moral liability for them now. I'm not one in lonesome. I'm one in thousands(and frankly, it should be millions.). That they would transform us into the Soviet Union in 96 hours, is absolutely ridiculous, outrageous and amoral. No one can even begin to complain about the Trump Presidency and then endorse the monstrosity that we've all had to experience.

We've now have a sidelined President, house arrest orders, restrictions on movement and these authoritarian measures. The President is reluctant to do the final thing, because he never wanted to do any of this. This is the RESPONSE the public demanded.

Well, I hate to inform the Public but as disturbingly easy as it was to create this Soviet Union style of affairs, it will be that much harder to get the government to roll back.

 

That's all hyperbolic nonsense. We are not becoming the Soviet Union. American civilization is not being destroyed. It's simply evolving as civilizations do. Everything happens at light speed now because of how connected we all are.

Trump doesn't see anything except his own reflection. You give the man far more credit than he ever deserves. Whatever it is you think you're seeing, he's not seeing it, even if he has the same response you do. Trump can be a useful tool if he's pointing in the same direction you want to go. That's the only way he will be a good leader during this crisis because luckily for us, there's really only one logical direction to even go in.

You may weep for what you see as the destruction of America, but really you're sad about how quickly things change now. There's no putting that genie back in the bottle unfortunately.

"How quickly things change now." No, this is not okay whether it happened fast or slow or incrementally. This is abhorrent to us. If we wanted to be Soviet, we should at least have a vote on it. But no, we didn't. In fact, that's the point: Our autonomy, our freedom. What the whole declaration of INDEPENDENCE means.

This robbing of Trump's political power, and our political power as individuals is the greatest shift in political power in the history of this nation. And it would have been pre-internet as well.

 

Did you ever expect at any point that governments across the US would tell otherwise healthy Americans to stay in their homes and to basically be fed like serfs?

The escalations have been quick and immediate, with our "betters"(the government, the doctors, etc) declaring that this is what's best for us. All in the span of 96 hours. All in the last week, civil human liberties. Gone. So yes, draconian speech measures are the next logical chain. There's two chains now. The viral chain, and the government collapse chain.

 

People are complaining because it should have been that way from the start and Trump is STILL contradicting his team right in front of them.

 

And what should people do when dealing with a disease that spreads on contact? Go about their business?
