    I really don't understand how the citizenry of Chicago can tolerate this. You would think the people who live in the Windy City would demand, repeat, demand that something be done to make the city safer. Blaming guns is just that, blaming guns, because they don't pull their own triggers.

    Chicago's residents need to step up and insist that their tax money be used for their safety. Wasting money on illegals and other feel-good projects doesn't save lives. From what I understand, a ton of Chicago's money goes to pensions and that money doesn't stay in the city because the pensioners move out when they retire. Chicago needs to rethink their pension policies and start putting their money into the safety of the city, like adding more cops and keeping the thugs off the streets by expanding jails and prisons.

    If BLM were serious and not just a Marxist front organization, they would be protesting 24/7 in Chicago.

    The urban areas keep electing Democrats and wonder why they keep getting the same crap results.

    Correct me if I’m wrong, but every time Trump wanted to jump in a stop the violence in various cities those cities threatened to sue him. And what policies are you referring to?

    This is what you get when liberals are in charge.

    They give so many goodies away that there is never enough left to actually run anything.

    With the pensions in Illinois they actually are paid the same rate as they were while working full time and also get guaranteed cost of living raises.

    What do you expect? You've made the police too scared to do their job? I was reading recently that there is a three week wait for NYPD officer to even submit their resignation papers.

    It is unfortunate, but it is easy to grow accustomed to it. When I lived in the DC area, there were a lot of shooting but as long as the news contained the phrase, "in Southeast DC" it was something I never gave much thought about because that is the hoodiest part of the hood.

    If Trump mentions the violence he’s racist. If he lets our laws work and allows local govt do their job, it’s ALL his fault. But if he dares to impose his will and say, tells them to follow those laws, he’s HITLER!!

    So a person works their whole life in Chicago. But if they want to collect their pension, you want to make it mandatory that they stay in Chicago? Telling someone where they can live doesn't sound like freedom or small government to me...

    If BLM was serious they would be patrolling Chicago 24/7.

    I'm from there and I generally only go to the city for weddings and funerals.
