Smartmatic files a $2.7B lawsuit against Fox Business Network and the next day FBN immediately cancels Lou Dobbs' show.

What a poetic demise for a Trumpster - to be brought down by a lawsuit inspired by the man himself.

Too bad Putin doesn't like losers, otherwise there might have been a future for Lou on the Trump Patriot Network.

The financial destruction from the fallout of Trump's flaming final days in office will shake out for months.

Free speech does not equal freedom from repercussions of said speech.
Smartmatic and Dominion both have good cases against these people.

If this was about truth you would have a point. But lies that are dangerous are not protected speech. And you can be sued for slander. When are you all going to figure that out? Freedom of speech does not mean you can say anything you want without consequences.

If Fox News could stand in front of a judge and prove their claims, they would have no reason to fire anyone. This is essentially a public admission of guilt - they are admitting that Lou Dobbs was spreading false and dangerous or slanderous information.

 

Just wait until people start getting sued for spreading lies about Covid that resulted in deaths - including this website. trump is responsible for at least 300,000 deaths because of his relentless disinformation campaign.

 

It will take a few years to undo the damage caused by Trump.

 

Many politicians and some journalists have bend over for Trump , thinking it will help their ratings and careers. Some were true believers , but most were just being opportunistic, thinking it would help them. It’s will be fun watching them fall one by one as time goes by. The cancellation comes a day after voting software company Smartmatic filed a $2.7-billion defamation suit against Fox News and three of its hosts — Dobbs, Maria Bartiromo and Jeanine Pirro. The company claims the hosts perpetuated lies and disinformation about Smartmatic’s role in the election, damaging its business and reputation.

 

FOX NEWS now part of the deep state by silencing the opposition. I'm going to miss the extremist right posting fake election fraud articles from them.

 

Spineless Republicans do not equate to trump being innocent. We know he conspired with the Russians. He did it on national TV.

I have to argue strongly against this preconceived notion and I wish I were named in the suit to be able to argue it: Look, personal choice still means something in this country. They had the ability to wear a mask, they had the ability to social distance. Nothing that Trump or anyone else said, kept these people from making the choices that they made. Or the choices that we all make every day in our lives.

The argument would be relevant if there weren't a Fauci, or if there weren't a Dr. Birx. But there was, we all know what we're told to do. There is no ignorance here, despite the argument otherwise in order to sue Fox News, etc.

They chose and many got sick and died. We can't reward bad decisions with financial gain.

 

That doesn't exempt him from legal liability for the slanderous bullshit he spews or the professional consequences thereof.
