Point out where I blamed the women, please. But her silence does nothing to stop the cycle, and her attacker will almost certainly rape again. Doing the right thing is not always easy.

Ya, right...""women are to blame for men raping""...the age old "everything bad is women's fault"....right out of the dark ages and witch trials..

Women have to be courageous to report rape ? And why is that? Because some people just won't believe them and they'll go through another traumatic experience.

Anti-Choicers in here have said that women WILL LIE about being raped....why should women have to face that?

NOPE! Rape is all on the RAPIST, the MAN who raped, not the victim..!!!!!!!

Where exactly did I say women are to blame? And yes the rapist is totally responsible for the rape, but not reporting the rape and not filing a police report, only puts other women in danger of being in the same situation. Is there not concern about the other women who are in danger from the rapist. Why are so many democrats on the rapist side? I want him arrested. If I had it my way rape would be a capital crime. Having rapist walking the streets is not a good thing for my daughters. The victim was unwilling put in one of the most awful situations imaginable, but her silence only emboldens his behavior and will only lead to more rapes. Call me crazy but I think this is a bad thing. Why do you think I have a bad opinion when I only want rapist to pay dearly for this awful crime. You weak willed and illogical liberals always go to the blame victim stance, when not once have I blamed the victim. You are projecting, why is that? Strangely it seems I am on the side of women and you seem to be on the side of rapist. Post my original post and actually point out where I am wrong, no projecting and using statements that I have not used.

    In your next sentence.

THAT IS blaming women for future rapes....

Oh, please...Democrats are not on the rapist's side....THEY believe women have rights.

AND RIGHT IN THAT underlined paragraph above YOU BLAME WOMEN FOR BEING RAPED..,.

Ya, you have , several times..

You also put sole responsibility on the victims to catch the rapist's.....don't the poilice have an obligation?

Oh, and gratuitous insults will be reported in the future( shows you know you're losing ;);) )

Yes, the side that says THEY are responsible for being raped...and responsible for future rapes....you stated that quite clearly..

How so? Show some kind of proof I'm on the side of the rapist or be reported for inflammatory statements.

    I just did.

That doesn't mean it can't be part of the argument, a small part of the overall argument.

You believe the Catholic Church is guilty if they do not report priests whom they strongly suspect of doing bad stuff. Why would you be unwilling to view a woman as guilty if she could stop future rapes but she doesn't?

    Hmm, sounds like double standards.

YUPPERS DOUBLE STANDARDS.... the Catholic Church wasn't RAPED...THEY DID THE RAPING..

A totally different set of circumstances...

The ONLY person guilty of rape is the rapist no matter how much misogynists try to blame women..

No they didn't. I can see you're not willing to have an honest argument here.

Then we can never compare anything because everything is apples and oranges.
Or it's just a convenient excuse not to look at your own inconsistencies.

What is the cost to her of reporting? Being told she “deserved it” because she “wasn’t a virgin”

The majority of rapes are someone the victim knows

Even in the percentage of times a rape is reported, it rarely gets to the point of successful prosecution. If you want to get serious about incarcerating rapists, how about processing rape kits rather than simply storing them? There are PLENTY of reported rapes that go without even an attempt to identify the rapist.

Putting this on victims of rape is unconscionable.

So, a woman is forced to claim she was raped by a totally unknown assailant.

    How did that solve anything?

Besides let's face it, these laws fall on those without the money to travel. There is no way to pitch them as equal.

Is this even true today? From the stories I am seeing, they arrest and convict men all the time based on nothing else than the accusations of the woman.

Woman claims she was raped, they drag the man off to prison. No questions asked.

Maybe that can at least give police a chance of tracking down her perpetrator.

It may not always be a big chance, but there could be evidence. There's always a chance a security camera caught something, of the perpetrator left behind DNA. Or maybe the woman can at least give a description and they can match that description to another crime if a woman gets raped again.

If there's any chance she can stop this crime from happening again, she owes this to future potential victims.

NO, she does NOT....you've been watching too many police shows an TV....where they "guilt" the VICTIM into testifying..

A victim owes no one anything...

rapes are the responsibility of the RAPIST NOT THE VICTIM....

why do righties ALWAYS blame women for being raped??....

No, it absolutely does NOT work that way.

Plus, even your scenario would require the woman to accurately identify her attacker.

If the interest is in prosecuting rapists, then higher investigators and prosecutors to do that.

I would encourage rape to be reported, but claiming that victims OWE something and that failure to pay off causes legal ramifications for the victim is not acceptable.

We are likely going to be talking about women who claim rape when it didn't happen if we're going to start making an abortion exception for women who are raped.
That's why I think it might be best to just ignore rape from the equation and give all women a little window of opportunity to be able to deal with things very early on in case anything unusual and traumatic happened.
But then, maybe, to deal with incest, younger females under the age of 15 could be subject to different rules.

Even then, maybe they could do a DNA test and punish the female if they find out that the DNA belongs to someone her same age and it was not the molestation situation she described.

The more you can prosecute women the better?

Do you have any idea what it means for a child to accuse members of her family? Do you think that is something that would be immediately reported? Do you think a child has the information to know that she could be pregnant and what to do about that? I mean, once you get sex education out of our schools, remove planned parenthood, etc., what is this child left with?

"ignore rape" in a rape situation?

    WHAT TF?

Uh, something traumatic DID happen, they were raped.

Why? Having sex with a minor is rape.

the theme of Anti-Choicers and their goal :"""punish the female""

Meaning it would not be a relevant factor in considering whether women should be able to get an abortion in individual cases.

They don't have to there are widely available medications to prevent ovulation and conception from occurring.

The REAL question is should all abortion law be based on the 1% of abortions due to rape/incest?
