I'm sure you would like to think that, but the evidence is just now being revealed- after constant efforts to bury it by the people you seem to applaud..... The investigation is just starting.
And, it appears to apply directly to a sitting president and actions by that president when he was a vice president, and involves aspects relating to his office.. You say Trump was a crook, but Biden and all cronies are exempt while he holds the top office in the nation??

You seem to have glasses.... not rose colored, but polarized to hide everything you want to deny. A really good computer with faulty programming can work the same way.. Garbage out, no matter what goes in.
You can do better if you try.

That is even more humorous but, doesnt change the fact that your claim was falisified. kind of an admittance of .. Yes .. I really am that #$%^... rather than take the out given you ... in which case your still wrong .. but not as glaring :)

What you are entitled to under the constitution, life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. And note pursuit does not guarantee you will ever catch it. And happiness in its current understanding is always fleeting and ever more ephemeral the harder you chase it therefore I don't think the founders thought of happiness in the same way we do.

That would be another example of something entitled to .. by law .. "supposedly" as we know it doesn't pan out that way .. or rather hasn't panned out that way.. and so what does this say about the officials we elect .. do we not lose that entitlement .. when we elect folks on the baisis of taking away that entitlement .. such as the anti aborts .. or the Progressive cancel culture .. Forced Vaxination being their latest fallacious utilitarian trick .. same argument the anti aborts use .. and just as evil regardless of side

The question to you then .. not only a voter but a supporter of one or the other .. why have you yet to understand what I have been telling you .. and figured out what the "Fallacious Utilitarian Trick" is yet. the trick the founders were desperately trying to avoid .. putting in safegaurds .. to prevent this trick which completely avoids the safeguards put in place..... used by both Red and Blue .. but you have no clue .. do you ?! Now is the time to step up to the mat .. figure out up from down ... get your pointer straight ... learn the identity of your sodomizer .. yours and mine both.

A healthy democracy works when you have opposition who put checks and balance to the leader. A good leader knows how to navigate thru the bureaucracy and opposition leader and achieve their goal. America is only two-party system, in parliament system, Prime Minister has to convince multiple opposition party and lead the country. This is democracy 1:1. If you can’t convince people to work with you then you shouldn’t be in politics.

You are right, President can’t fire member of congress. We live in democracy and not authoritarian regime.

You might be right; no other president was hated like Trump. May be because Trump is the most divisive person. Forget about people who hate Trump, even the Trump supporter says “ We like all the things Trump did, but I wish he would stay away from twitter and stop attacking people or not get into every fight”. In another word, even the people who like his policy and achievement, they don’t like his character or personality. At the end of the day, in democracy you have to have the character or personality to draw people toward you. If majority people don’t like you then you are not a good politician. No wonder even in win, Trump lost majority vote. If Trump can’t win the hearts and mind of majority then he was never a good fit to be POTUS.

At some point you must stop all the excuse. Trump was not President of High School Cheerleader Team that everyone has to treat him carefully or he would break, Trump was President of US of America.

What part of life do you not understand? The pro aboilrts are the people of violating the constitution. But we are not going to resolve this between us are we? Huge bureaucracies sir are always the enemies of freedom. Huge bureaucracies in the public sector always create counter parts in the private sector where in whole forests are decimated by the paper work flying back and any pretense at freedom is suffocated under the sheer weight of it all.

DOJ became corrupt when? During Trump administration or after Trump administration? During Trump’s presidency, Trump hand picked AG ran DOJ. AG Jeff Sessions was trump supporter long before Trump even own a single primary. AG Barr was Trump supporter, Trump picked him because Barr was defending Trump in Fox news. then the other guy well he too was Trump supporter. Rod Rosenstein was a life long Republican who became deputy AG under Trump. Again, Trump picked him.

Last two and current FBI directors are life long republican - Robert Mueller , James Comey, Christopher A. Wray. Even the actin FBI director whom Trump hate so much , Andrew McCabe is a life long republican. Yes, there are democrats in FBI. But so what. These people chose to server their country rather then make money in privet sector. But every day these people are demonized by FOX news, By Trump and trump supporter.

You start your sentence with “Trump, whatever his faults“. After that no need to add any thing!

Majority Americans ha been rejecting Trump and Trump policy since 2016. Trump got 3 million less vote in election, almost every special election in 2017 GOP lost. GOP lost election in 2018 , GOP lost election in 2020, GOP lost at least the Senate in 2022 election. What does that tell you. American people don’t want , trump, Trump policy and even GOP.

Stop finding excuse and move on with life and see if GOP can change course and adopt what majority Americans wants. If not in 10 years GOP will be on the wall of Muslim and not in the hall of congress.

Yes he was and he did about as well as could be expected under the constant assault. It wasn't Trump that was divisive. The division was already there before Trump came down the elevator.
It was compelled by the far left of the Democratic party spending their entire history since the mid sixties insulting any one who disagreed with them about anything. The left threw down the gauntlet Trump picked it up and threw it back in their faces and good on him for doing so. We can no longer afford to surrender the bully pulpit to leftist swine and agitprops and cower behind close doors and stare at each other behind close doors at every leftist insult.

It's not a hard line rule. But a general rule, for I no of no other way to change top leadership that's been in congress for decades.
    Do you have a solution?

I have voted for incumbents, but for Senate, after 2 terms, I vote the opposite candidate.

I don't follow the answer in Post #17. It offers no solution on how to make it better for those elected. To do so, means getting the parties and leaders to change. That can't be done if the leaders are established career politicians.

I can't come up with a way to change the congress mindset without getting those out who've been in office for more than 12 yrs.

This exchange of posts seems to throw the entire OP out the door.
Whataboutism as a response will not make our elected leaders more honest.

An answer on how to address the issues of the OP would have been to address the question posed in the above post instead of flipping it to another person(party). Until whataboutism isn't an answer, there will never be a change.
Someone, some group, must adult up and say, this is not acceptable for neither side. And this is how it should be addressed.

If one believes in transparency, honor and integrity, it applies to the question posted and left unanswered.

Exactly. And I said on my very first post that ALL Presidents should be held accountable. They should be PERMANENTLY under investigation. Be it Biden, Trump, DeSantis, ... it makes no difference. I even mentioned that the President should set aside at least a couple of hours every week to respond to questions by Congress. And that this should be done PUBLICLY.

@spiritgide seems to believe that this should apply only to Democratic Presidents. That fact alone kills this whole thread. And completely demolishes the idea that this poster has any interest in pursuing transparency.

I think entitlement legally and entitlements that are social or moral expectations also have validity. All things that are right can't be legally specified or defined. A healthy society stays that way by having sound social expectations in our behavior, and it rewards and promotes them.

And you never saw any such comment from me- you just think that because I don't participate in your anti-Trump vendetta that I have a double standard.... to be fair then, you think the vendetta should only apply to Republican presidents??

OF course. The Golem research institute supports the validity of that in practice, just not in policy.

And this is the twisted balance of the left. The acknowledgement that he might have faults closes the discussion.... And you just lost any respect as a person of good faith.

Why not? I'm participating in your anti-Biden vendetta. You are after him because he committed the horrible crime of beating Trump!

YOU? "Fair"? Oh... please don't ever come NEAR that word.

Did you not READ what I posted? Here... I'll copy-paste the relevant part from my post for you in larger font.

" Be it Biden, Trump, DeSantis, ... it makes no difference."

Sorry but the forum doesn't allow me to go any larger than that.

I'm curious. Why in the world would I not include Democrats? Do you think that, just because YOU are so partisan, the rest of us our too? I'll include ANY name you want. Who do you want to see? Obama? Hillary? You name them, I'll include them! I admire some politicians (Obama, for example), but I have not cult-like devotion to ANY political figure. NONE! I hope ALL of them are constantly investigated.

You, on the other hand, keep making up excuses for Trump. That tells us everything we need to know.

Now... if you wanted to start investigating Melissa Benoist... THAT'S where I would draw the line.

Who in the hell would work for government?
Who is going to decide what's true? So much for free speech.
You do know, don't you, that treason is defined in the Constitution? If you want to include other acts as treasonous, you have to pass an amendment.
Their function will be passed on to other agencies.
As long as we tax income, we'll have to have an agency to enforce compliance.
You'd have to amend the Constitution to change free speech.
Who determines if this criterion is being met?
Who is going to determine if someone should be charged?
I added Canadian citizenship to my U.S. citizenship years ago. If you got control, I'd leave and never come back. You'd turn the country into a police state.

OK. If that is the attitude so, be it. Republican lost popular vote 7 out of last 8 presidential election. That means majority Americans support Democrats, Liberal lefties then Republican.

Less than 10% African Americans, less than 40% Hispanic Americans , less than 25% Asian Americans support Republican party. These numbers are not changing. Last time 40% Hispanic voter voted for a republican Presidential candidate was in 2004. Collage educated white voter are moving away from GOP to Democrats. As a matter of fact, White Collage educated voters in America are the most liberal.

Minority Americans overwhelmingly reject GOP because of the way GOP candidate demonize different minority groups, GOP policy toward minorities is non-existence. As a matter of fact GOP’s attitude toward minority is “ We know what is good for you, just accept what we tell you and shut up”. Minorities has no interest in GOP politics.

Only group republican can get are non-collage educated white rural voter and Evangelical Christians. Fortunately for America these groups are shrinking. Basically, dying at old age. On the other hand millions of so called “ Liberals” from NYC , LA or Chicago migrating to Atlanta, Huston and Phoenix and turning those State to Purple State. By 2032 Presidential election there won’t be enough white rural and evangelical voter to stop the “ Liberals”.

So you have two choices. Complain about those “Liberals” and claim voter fraud next few years or Change; adopt what minority Americans / immigrants wants, what young voter wants. If not GOP will be another obsolete idea which exist only in history book.

Oh , you lost my respect as a person of good faith the moment you supported Trump. No reasonable, respected good faith person can support a racist like Trump. End of the story.

Do you believe your vision of bringing honor to our governance can possibly become reality when the very people you need to support it are the same ones derailing your thread? I have my doubts. They don't want honorable governance. They want to destroy their opposition, by any means possible. Honor and integrity are only obstacles to that end.

After supporting the most corrupt man like Trump for two election, I really don’t want his supporter to lecture us about honorable and honesty. The moment you supported Trump , you lost all credibility to talk about character or honor. If you are evangelical Christian and supported Trump then I really don’t want to hear about Moral value/ family value . As a Christian you lost all morality when you supported Trump.

There has been no lecturing in this thread, except by you. The OP here is discussing ways to FIX the lack of honor, like Mr Trumps, in Congress GOING FORWARD. YOU should endeavor to be part of that solution, instead of part of the problem. Perhaps you should address the problems in your own country before lecturing Americans about ours, comrade.

I believe that very few of us try to choose the candidate with the highest Christian morality, we vote our political preferences. One only need stand back and look at the overall body politic to see the truth in that.

If that is the case the evangelical Christian should not call themselves “ Moral majority” or preach about “ family value” or go after Bill Clinton for his sexual immorality. Seems like Christians in this country has no problem supporting sexual immorality committed by Trump, but they sure had problem with Bill Clinton.
