Biden misfire: Majority turns against ‘assault weapons’ ban (msn.com)
Like I say TOTAL gun owners considered, the Democrats and Independant are the largest owners of firearms. It's simply a losing and waste of time to disarm Americans!!

I don’t support a ban but do support licensing, insurance and registration. Unfortunately there is zero compromise here

Upcoming generations are pretty much in unison saying things will change when they start taking over government and the boomers retire.

    https://iop.harvard.edu/about/newsl...l-finds-stricter-gun-laws-ban-assault-weapons
70 percent of young Americans likely to vote in the upcoming midterms believe that gun control laws in the United States should be more strict. Overall, 64 percent of 18-to 29-year-olds hold this view.

This finding represents a 15-point increase from polling conducted by the IOP in 2013

Just as well - when the state AW bans hit the USSC, they will be struck.

Everyone always thinks “once my generation takes over completely then we can xyz with no issue“ lol. It doesn’t and never has worked that way.

Astounding how every generation thinks the same thing. Kinda interesting too.

Polling and research has shown younger generations are not growing more conservative as they age like prior generations have before them.

Likely due to a ton of reasons but the main two are because they are less financially secure than prior generations (have a much lower homeownership rate, less savings) and are not having children or not having them as young as their parents did.

Not to mention they grew up with active shooter drills.

Your historical assessment might be correct to predict future events but it ignores quite a few facts as well as polls.

We will just have to watch.

That’s incorrect, data and studies have shown they absolutely grow more conservative as they get older, but conservatives, particularly young conservatives, aren’t the same as the old ones which is exactly why these polls aren’t reliable.

Correct - Democrats offer nothing in return for their demands to ban, license, register and insure guns.
    They seek acquiescence, not compromise.
    They always are.

Again, typically this is the case but current polling shows younger generations are staying more socially liberal and even economically liberal in many areas.

You can say “but tradition” till you are blue in the face, the only thing that will tell is time.

The young today haven't a clue what a responsible gun owner adheres too to purchase and own a firearm.. The only thing they know is what the MSNBCNN and the DNC propagandist allow them to know..

What is the legal definition of an assault weapon?

You know, we banned murders and they still happen.
We banned drugs and they’re still here
We banned illegals and they’re all over the place

What makes Biden think banning why he thinks is an assault weapon will do any good? Like when Obama and O’Rourke whined about their assault weapons ban, just the thought of it had guns flying off the shelves.

False I specifically referenced how the polls aren’t accounting for what is actually now a right wing perspective. So people are still going to the right wing as they get older, those polls just are stuck in the past as far as thier Overton window is concerned.

those are all just steps toward a ban. There's no compromise here because you're not willing to.

We are licensed by the second amendment we all hold the license.

Part of our scratch what would insurance be what do you need to insure?

And the only reason to ever register a firearm is so the government can take them away from you the only reason they need to know you have them.
I'm not so sure about that one.

Well if they say what I want to hear then I really want them to be reliable and so I just insist that they are.

I would be interested to hear what you think being conservative means these days especially through the lens of our children who are acutely aware of the differences between left and right. You might be thinking of a time long ago when the term actually meant something besides what some marginal actor like MTG or Palin bleats. It was once an ideology created by intellectuals, now it's the home to something else entirely.

This is totally false and I challenge you to come up with this supposed data.

Conservatism has been in steady decline in the US for at least 15 years.

No Republican candidate can hope to be elected POTUS with a majority of votes since 2008.

That said, the vast majority of voters want stricter control of guns.

How did the last midterm election work out for ya?
40+ seats became losing seats in one chamber and a bare majority in the other.

    During a midterm

it’s fine, we tried to warn you people but it is more fun this way I guess

Day in day out we hear that according to polls most people want something, yet when they do not get it they do nothing. That only demonstrates that lots of people like to pay lip service to issuers but do nothing.

Or it’s because our representatives do not actually represent us. Most Americans want fiscal responsibility, they want their taxes to work for them, they want the cost of healthcare to be addressed, they want fiscal accountability in our military and don’t want money buying our politicians.

You got that right, maybe. Maybe some of "us" think that they are. why else would some of us re-relct someone like Bobert, or MTG? Or elect Tuberville, ot vote for Walker?
Most do not know what that is.

Not necessarily. Those are percentages of each group - the size of the groups, which is not given, give you the raw numbers.
