Thank you for giving me the right to be wrong.

And while you think conservatism is going great, a Democrat POTUS has been in charge of this country 75% of the time since 2008...

He’s President of the United States! I don’t see VP Harris pulling strings like Cheney did for Bush.

Fair enough, but this SCOTUS isn’t likely to rule favorably on gun control.

Many gun owners who support Democrats do not realize what Democrats are actually trying to do when it comes to guns, or what they have already done. Or they are in denial.
It's called cognitive dissonance. When you believe something firmly all your life, when confronted with a fact that contradicts it, you have a tendency to just dismiss it or not think about it. (That's just how human psychology often works) Or they just do not want to think about it, that very uncomfortable fact, because they have what they consider much more important priorities. Or they might see a handful of separate facts, but not want to form it together into a coherent perception.

People have a tendency to assume that the political side they vote for thinks like them, on all the issues they care about.

All of this anti-gun silliness is quite amusing. Here we have "Constitutional Carry" where any legal gun owner can carry open or concealed without being burdened with any registrations, permits, waiting periods, magazine restrictions or similar. I'm so glad I moved here.

    TEXAS!!! WHERE FREEDOM LIVES!!!

I gave you nothing, it is inherent. Nor have I claimed conservatism is doing “great”, you simply are seeing and believing whatever you want… not the reality.

And a potus doesn’t have nearly the power you’re implying. Hell brandon and Obama are lame ducks.

    It's very true...

    https://abcnews.go.com/US/defunding-claims-police-funding-increased-us-cities/story?id=91511971

Between that and low recruitment numbers, undermanning problem and cops exhibiting the "Ferguson Affect", and no bail laws, crime has spiked and it has everything to do with Democrat policies.

I did not say I thought so.
Oh, you did not know, it is already illegal.
We are enforcing murder laws. What we need to do is find ways to eliminate the desire and reasons for people to kill eachother.

NO, even your link says "in-spite of de-funding rhetoric funding is up", recruiting is down because of all the bad publicity from encounters with bad cops. Nobody want's to be a cop because of bad cops.

I don't think the facts back that up. But, in fact, all the bad publicity the police have been getting has caused a drop in police academy applicants.

The bad publicity is caused by government trying to imprison cops for every little incident. No matter what, the cop is always wrong. The Michael Brown, "hands up don't shoot", incident is a perfect example.

IMO, uniformed police should refuse to make stops or arrests and stop carrying guns. More unarmed police with streaming video cameras might be useful, but the real solution to violent crime is armed citizens carrying concealed handguns.

Armed police should only be sent out to serve warrants or assist citizens when called to a verified crime scene. There is no longer an urgent need for armed police patrols where catch and release - often without bail is the rule of law.

That's plainly not true, recent events prove that the bad public relations of police departments are caused by bad policemen ... and women. Michael Brown was a bad actor. But he is ONE example where the policeman involved acted appropriately. His one case is contrasted by dozens where the police over stepped, were brutal and, used excessive force of just screwed up but people ended up dead that shouldn't have.

The bad public relations are a result of the lies being promoted by the government. "Hands up, don't shoot" is the perfect example.

Most officer involved shootings are legit shoots. Hear the anti-cop Leftists tell it, the opposite is true. Every officer involved shooting is treated as if the cop is in the wrong.

That’s not true, but EVERY officer involved shooting IS investigated.

Now, every officer involved shooting is investigated on the assumption that the officer is in the wrong. They're always portrayed as being in the wrong in the court of public opinion.
