According to you guys, ANYTHING which makes it inconvenient or remotely difficult to get a gun is an infringement.

Like I said "shall not be infringed" is not absolute.

well we know that the FDR court pissed all over the tenth and second amendments. I want to read your constitutional scholarship on why certain infringements are actually constitutional. Hating gun owners-as your posts suggest-is not sufficient

not at a state level if they were violent. I find the GCA of 68, and the 1934 NFA and subsequent amendments to be unconstitutional under the TENTH amendment first and in some cases under the second

The OP presents an interesting list.

Cities, by their very nature, result in far greater numbers of person to person interactions per unit of time than do rural areas. One would expect more incidents of violence. More killings. More murders. More auto accidents. [The list can be extended.]

So far, so good. That's out of the way. Now lets get to a political question.

Given the make-up of cities in the US -- that is, more ethnically/religiously/culturally/economically/what-have-you diversified than rural areas, why would cities have elected mayors who are Democrats as opposed to Republicans?

    Regards, stay safe 'n well.

Nope, there is more to it than that.

I got an educated guess as to why. - Democrat run cities with all their social problems provide subsidies to the poor, and as any economist will tell you - "anything you subsidize you get more of that thing". So, the cities attract and perhaps produce a lot of poor single mothers. A good many of these fatherless kids end up entangled in gang and drug culture. A part of this culture is "Never snitch". If you can't go to the cops you got to take care of things yourself- So the Brothers are shooting each other in the streets.

    Simple:
Democrats buy votes with campaign promises; the more ethnically/religiously/culturally/economically/what-have-you diverse are less likely to understand they are being pandered to.

    Nope.
    Thus, you don't got it.
You just don't like the truth.

    Hi again, TOG 6.

OK. Now, I've got the truth. Both Democrats and Republicans make election promises.

    Regards, stay safe 'n well.

    Yes. You do.

Cities more often have Democrat mayors because Democrats buy votes with campaign promises; the more ethnically/religiously/culturally/economically/what-have-you diverse are less likely to understand they are being pandered to.

    Glad you understand.
