What's the 'blue' solution? Cuz if it has to do with banning guns, you might want to take a look at youth drug abuse to see how well that works out. A 'war on guns' isn't gonna work any better than the 'war on drugs' has. How do you feel about the 'war on drugs'?

Thanks for CONFIRMING that you CANNOT do it because MEDICARE predates Obamacare and it is FUNDED by TAXES and falls under the General Welfare of the Commerce Clause EXACTLY like Obamacare does.

Perhaps that professor of constitutional law at your local university can EXPLAIN why YOUR argument is "idiotic"?

At least they can TRY but something tells me that they won't succeed because of Cognitive Bias.

Voting patterns is ALL you have LEFT now?

    That is soooooooooo SAD!

Are you AWARE the Millennials and GenZ now OUTNUMBER Boomers at the polls?

They will INCREASE their ADVANTAGE by several MILLION more VOTES in 2024.

So if you are RELYING on voting patterns to preserve the GOP/NRA's gun culture that too is ONLY a matter of time BEFORE they are history.

And just to PROVE my point the 2018, 2020 and 2022 RESULTS all demonstrated that the demographic SHIFT to the LEFT is happening already.

Odds of the GOP prevailing in 2024 are DIMINISHING with every Boomer obituary and GenZ turning 18 which is happening each and every day between now and the election.

The GOP/NRA gun culture days are nearly over.

The War on Drug USERS is an complete and utter FAILURE.

There is NO "war on guns" either.

However the GOP/NRA gun culture is a LETHAL threat to the HEALTH and WELFARE of We the People.

ELIMINATING that threat BEGINS with Universal Background Checks for ALL firearm transactions.

Then there is ENFORCEMENT of UBC across the board with PRISON time for those who FAIL to comply with UBC. Dealers and owners have an OBLIGATION to ENSURE that their guns do NOT fall into the hands of Crazies and Criminals. There is NOTHING in the 2A that EXEMPTS them from their RESPONSIBILITY to keep their guns OUT of the hands of crazies and criminals.

So how do YOU feel about ENABLING crazies and criminals getting their hands on guns?

Are you part of the 12% or 88%?

My guns are locked up so they dont get stolen. You'll have to take my word on it because the govt has never asked to check.

Would you support UBCs for all drug transactions?

What is it you think UBCs are going to accomplish? They have been law in my state for several years, and other than an increased administrative cost of $10M/year, they havn't had any noticeable impact on gun ownership or gun violence. Our murder-by-shooting rate has doubled, roughly in line with the rest of the nation since we made it law. By any objective metric, even outside of any civil rights considerations, its nothing but a huge waste of money.

And not voting Biden. Please note on most pollsters list of issues people care about gun control is so far down the list as to be not shown.

you need to actually look at the legislative history behind that and figure out what was cited as the constitutional authority for medicare. and yes, five justices said Obama care could not be justified under the commerce clause-which was a primary basis for the medicare program. What does this mean? it means that expansive use of the commerce clause to justify all sorts of things by congress is falling in disfavor with a more sensible court

Please provide the actual UBC legislation in question because it sounds like another GOP/NRA scam if it is as TOOTHLESS as you say.

So you DON'T have a "constitutional professor" supporting your attempt to squirm OUT of the FACT that CC does COVER the WELFARE of We the People that are the United States of America.

Why don't every third student carry a gun? It's OK to have a gun in America.
If people do this, a shooter will think twice and more before going in a lecture hall, killing people. Because 15 guns will be pointed at him at the same time.

P.S. Vote "blue", yeah right.

Some of them were purchased by those who were TERRORIZED by the GOP/NRA's gun culture war on We the People.

According to Pew 3 out of every 10 owners have FIVE or MORE guns. But only 3 out of a 100 own HALF of ALL of the guns in America.

    https://edition.cnn.com/2022/06/02/us/gun-ownership-numbers-us-cec/index.html

So those who were ALREADY obsessed with guns purchased the BULK of the those guns over the last 30 years.

That does NOT help your argument one IOTA because the DEMOGRAPHICS are still NOT in your favor.

    https://news.gallup.com/poll/264932/percentage-americans-own-guns.aspx

Essentially LESS than HALF of the population owns or lives with someone who owns a gun.

And that ASSUMES that ALL of them "support" the GOP/NRA gun culture which they DON'T because 88% support UBC.

Guns don't have voting rights so owning 25 guns means SQUAT.

Its the same thing that UBC/MBC always means- required background check for all firearm transfers, including private transfers. Its not 'toothless', its pointless because it still assumes that criminals are going to comply with regulations.

It hasnt done a damn bit of good, and wastes $10M/year tracking only the lawful gun owners that comply with the law. But then we KNEW that would happen before it was passed and we tried to tell the massive Seattle/Olympia voting block, and they dont care.

So I ask again- how do you expect UBC/MBCs are sposed to reduce shootings, and would you support UBC/MBCs for drug purchases?

Can you not think of a better use for $10M/year than emburdenning lawful gun owners with more useless red tape?

who exactly does the NRA terrorize? your posts continue to prove that you support gun control because you think the NRA and lawful gun owners oppose your alphabet agenda. If that is the case, should gun owners attack your agenda as turnabout is fair play? seems like a silly reason to support something. and most people don't understand the universal background checks are worthless without unconstitutional registration and are pushed by gun banners to achieve that registration.

If you have read his posts-it seems as if the main goal is harassing lawful gun owners-based on the hate constantly spewed at the NRA

I mean ya, when theres no logical explanation for how the legislation is sposed to be effective, no objective evidence that it is effective, and yet calls for expanding it anyway, thats kinda the only reasonable explanation for spending more money on it.

Did you seriously BELIEVE that a SINGLE law being passed would UNDO the last 30+ YEARS of the DAMAGE caused by the GOP/NRA's gun culture?

The NEFARIOUS gun culture mindset still needs to be ADDRESSED and REMOVED from our society.

That takes TIME and EFFORT...which I grant does NOT exist among the "instant gratification" DEMANDS of the gun obsessed.

We need to EDUCATE the PUBLIC about the HARM caused by the GOP/NRA gun culture and what each of us can DO in order to RID out NATION of this TOXIC and LETHAL gun culture.

Passing UBC is just a SINGLE part of a MUCH larger TASK that needs to happen BEFORE the GOP/NRA gun culture SLAUGHTER of innocent children can be ended.

The ONLY question that remains is do you want to be part of the SOLUTION or do NOTHING and thereby ENABLE the KILLING to continue?

That should not be a difficult choice for anyone who understands that the CURRENT GOP/NRA gun culture is UNAMERICAN.

It sounds like you're saying you cant think of a better way to spend $10M/year than to harass lawful gun owners while not reducing gun crime, and you want to spend more to harass more lawful gun owners while still not reducing gun crime. And you dont have any explanation as to why...

The NRA is basically dead and has been for years. Gun culture doesnt exist because of the NRA. The NRA was just making money off the gun culture. Thats why the gun culture outlasted it. Self defense is a big part of self sufficiency and thus a big part of independence and individual freedom, thats why Americans love guns. Not because of the NRA.

I am part of the solution. Theres virtually no crime in my community in part because virtually everyone has guns and the criminals know it, and they know it because of people like me who take pride in their self sufficiency and willingness to defend themselves. Thats the solution, and its also part of why I've never had to actually use my guns for self defense, a trend I'd prefer to keep going, btw. The alternative is having A LOT MORE COPS. Is that your preference?

do you really think gun crime is what causes that sort of hatred towards the NRA-rather than the perception that the pro NRA voters and politicians vote against the alphabet and woke agendas?

Asinine "MORE guns are the answer" response noted and DEBUNKED by the FACT that more guns has NEVER solved the GOP/NRA gun culture problem.

It's pretty hypocritically disgusting to grandstand on the dead in the wake of a tragedy as a way to deprive Americans of a fundamental right, their Second Amendment right, especially when your side does not care about the lives of unborn children. We should be discussing why events like this happen, not the way in which they happen. When Darrell Brooks killed multiple people, including children, when he mowed them down in his automobile during a Christmas parade, no one talked about banning vehicles. Just like we should be discussing why Brooks did what he did, we should be discussing why Tailei Qi did what he has been charged in doing. It's evil, but we must analyze the evil was a way to prevent it.
