I was also one of those duck and cover kids. Guess what happened when they grew up and were forced to go and fight those "evil" commies in 'Nam? They came back and said ENOUGH of this crap, there has got to be another way. They stopped the war, pushed for and passed the EPA and ultimately ended the Cold War. BTW did you know that St Reagan hated Nukes?

GenZ is saying ENOUGH now about the INSANE gun violence in our nation. Guess what they are going to be pushing for and changing in the next decade or two?

probably which pop star they worship-taylor Twit's getting a bit tired. The anti gun movement's leaders are rather unwholesome to many younger folks.

    @Derideo_Te -

Guns are not violent. That like saying pencils are violent. A pencil ain't going to write anything other than what the fingers pushing it write. So too, it is the person behind the trigger that is responsible, not the gun.

I tell you what, I'll bring a gun over for you to inspect. We will load it, **** it, and take the saftey off. Then I will lay it on the table in front of us (with the muzzle pointed in a safe direction). It will be my job to make sure that absolutely nobody touches the firearm, which is loaded, cocked, saftey off and ready to fire. It will be your job to watch what happens and take notes.

Because something is going to happen. You know what that gun laying on the table will do?

    It will rust.

Reagan believed strongly in peace through strength, which included a robust increase in the nuclear arms race. That increased nuclear arms race is what ultimately bankrupted the Soviet Union and ended the Cold War.

I am not so sure this is the analogy you want to use to support your gun control agenda. In fact, it is an example of the polar opposite of what you are advocating.

If people truly want to end the gun violence in this nation, they are going to have to care about what's causing it. It's easy to blame the guns, but that's like blaming the affair for the marriage gone bad.

Nobody is interested in solving fundamental problems in this county, so you have things like blaming white people for black on black murder, blaming guns instead of people for gun violence, blaming every damn thing for inflation except what it really is, etc., etc., etc.

Gen Z will wake up like all people do when their horrendous policies make life difficult enough for a critical mass number of people. Look at what just happened to the Mn politician who was one of the most outspoken voices calling for de-funding the police. She was beat up and nearly killed in her own driveway in front of her small children. Some people have to learn the hard way.

Yeah, but the problem with that is proving to be that BLUE is hopelessly bound to the idea of allowing the situation to work itself out with no exceptional effort to correct exceptional times. The Constitution was written to be kinda “wishy-washy” and allow for excessive “freedom” and what we need now is a spine willing to be firm. For example, Fox and the entire RW extremist talking heads’ cohort has methodically cultivated a following that is willing to kill in order to get their way. BLUE says they must respect the RWers’ 1st Amendment rights to freedom of speech, instead of declaring that the SCOTUS was correct when it said all Amendments are subject to limitations, and then clamp down with charges relating to instigation of anti-government rebellion and hate language that has produced racist hate crimes and threats to elected and appointed officials, and shut Fox and friends down. The FCC should repeal their licenses to pollute the airwaves. That’s one example and there are many more.

Spinelessness could lead to major destruction of all we hold dear.

My wife is a Kindergarten teacher. She has to receive a mandatory "School Mass Shooting" course every new school year and this year it was last weekend. It makes your hair stand on end the things that teachers are called to do so they can save the life of as many kids as possible. Very said.... very disturbing. This DOES NOT happen in any other developed country in the world.

Scary as hell what the world in which the pro-gun right has forced us to live in. And this will not change until a HEFTY Democratic majority in Congress changes it.

The violence and killing is from roving bands of Amish, and the police are too far away if the bad guys turn their attention to me.
If they go after you, you are on your own. Call the Po-Po, and explain calmly that you are being beaten to death and you would like some advice.

WTF? How am I supposed to refute an argument you have not made!?

How about you back up your mouth and tell us how the commerce clause applies first so that I know where you are coming from? For all I know you think the commerce clause gives congress the power to tax air.

And it sure is an invasion of privacy. What else do we need to register?bibles? How about typewriters?

Isn’t it interesting the majority of school mass shooters are current or former students of the schools they shoot up? They seem to be very angry at the institutions and the people in those institutions. They are depressed. They are angry. They have no hope.

And never once do educators seem to ask WHY these kids hate the school and the people there. The schools are creating the little monsters but never examine what it is they are doing that fails kids so miserably the kids wish to destroy the institution and people in the institution.

Seems teachers might want to look inward and see what it is about their little kingdoms that makes kids wish to destroy them.

Perhaps we ought to take a look at social contagion and generalized imitation in the context of the evidence active shooter drills actually increase depression and anxiety at school—two of the main drivers of mass shooters to begin with.

If people I had dealings with past and present kept coming to my place of business and shooting it up I would begin to question why. And think maybe it had SOMETHING to do with my place if business.

They have every right to be ignorant as dirt on any subject but there nazi little assaults on private citizens who own guns will not prevail because it is based on feelings and angst not empirical evidence.

tell us what are the limitations you want and where in Article One Section Eight, is the power to limit those freedoms delegated to the federal government. I realize the left often hates free speech and your post seems to suggest that. Fox might be biased right, but that hardly balances not only the blatant bias of the big three's news programs but also the fact that prime time entertainment is loaded with leftwing propaganda. Shows like the FBI, Law and Order etc, have subtle attacks on gun ownership and depict the NRA in a negative light. Game shows are stocked full of positive statements concerning gay marriage as well.

Of course they are. Nothing they believe is based on evidence but on feelings on the part of those at the bottom and the lust for power of those at the top.

Of what? I can absolutely guarantee that they do waaaaaaay more research than the average NRA fed idiot

Let’s look at how popular stricter gun control is

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Publi...o joint polls published,, while 36% oppose it.

No it does not happen here. Nor in Sweden not Switzerland or any other country that has mandated gun RESPONSIBILITY. It is amazing to me that the pro gun people are even against laws which would not affect ownership but would mandate responsibility

swedish whites don't have anywhere near the amount of private guns. Whites in the USA have similar rates of gun violence as similarly situated whites living in Nanny States where the enlightened leaders don't trust the subjects to own guns.

go ahead and guarantee it. Polls mean nothing in terms of knowledge. The average NRA member is not likely to call an AR 15 an "assault rifle" or a "weapon of war, or a magazine a "clip"

To quote Marcus Aurelius again-the opinion of 10,000 men mean nothing if they don't understand the issue they are talking about
