What steps do you propose to change major ocean currents in the Atlantic and Pacific?
More like a cross between sheep and Chicken Little.

….and yet, all the models and scientists got this hurricane completely wrong.

They must have just forgotten “warm waters” affect hurricanes. Whoopsies!

I saw at least one local weather guy say, as it turned more easterly that it would hit land as a Cat 5.

Don't ask me for forgiveness. Ask the people who have lost their homes, their livelihood and... sometimes their life.... in no small part because of people who don't understand science, but have no qualms about denying scientific FACT.

Seriously? You're gonna put an "appeal to emotion" fallacy? And I have a lot of qualms about denying SCIENTIFIC FACT, but not unsubstantiated theories and scare stories. The list of "scientific facts" that have been disproved or dramatic catastrophes that never happened is humongous.

What anybody agrees or disagrees with is irrelevant in science. The only thing relevant in science is what they can PROVE. Science is the dictatorship of peer-reviewed studies. Opinions have little value.

That appears to be the case. Here in liberal-land, I see few people walking the walk.

And yet there has been no increase in hurricane intensity or frequency.

Figure: Last 50-years+ of Global Tropical Storm and Hurricane frequency -- 12-month running sums. The top time series is the number of TCs that reach at least tropical storm strength (maximum lifetime wind speed exceeds 34-knots). The bottom time series is the number of hurricane strength (64-knots+) TCs.

There you go. Instead of simply showing a quote from the conclusion (shouldn't be more than two or three lines long), and a link to the peer-reviewed publication, this is the response the poster always gives. Anybody who has ever read me in this forum knows that if I were to make a point in such a simple way, I would paste it all over the place until my <ctrl><v> fingers go green.

    My point is made...

Wrong - that is science; you're confusing it with religion.

The entire scientific process entails developing a hypothesis, testing to prove or disprove it and reporting the results. Of course the devil is in the details, but that's the basic scientific process.

That's you on the right.

So you believe electric cars are good for the environment? If all those people claiming to care about the environment made some changes, they could make a big difference if they really cared.
