Why are they not Israeli citizens? Most were born and live in Israel. As you say the West Bank, Gaza and Golan are all parts of Israel.

I don't know. The territory known as the West Bank is under the military control of Israel as a result of Jordan's attack on Israel as part of the six day war. It could be that the territory West Bank is not considered to be part of the nation state of Israel? Israel as is the case with most if not all nations except for the US does not grant automatic citizenship to anyone born within their national and territorial borders. I suppose that the self identifying Palestinians could apply for Israeli citizenship if they wanted to. Apparently the vast majority are not interested in that.

 

Do you understand nothing about the history of Gaza which has been outlined multiple times in this thread and others on the same subject? It is Hamas who controls Gaza. It is Hamas who won the legislature in Gaza in 2006. It is Hamas who has violently taken over complete control of the government of Gaza in 2006. It is Hamas who has never held another election. It is Hamas who has disenfranchised the Gazan civilians.

They are not Israeli citizens so, of course, they can't vote in Israel. Hamas murdered all their opposition and declared there would be no more elections in Gaza.

Since there is no "Palestine" then these people are stateless? Palestine is a geographic area not a nation. It has never been a nation. It has always been governed by foreign powers until it became Israel in 1948 when the UK ceded the geographic area to the Jews. I understand that about 1/4 of Israelis are muslim. How do they differ from "Palestinians?" They are not citizens?
