Yeah but I would argue that it is not a very good one about that subject matter.

doesnt matter. armor or not doesnt protect you from being swarmed, doesnt protect you from starving to death, and doesnt protect you against remaining humans

It would definitely be a wise procurement in a zombie apocalypse type situation. There are numerous characters in the show that have been saved by taking such a precaution.

how many TV series are there about viral apocalypses?...the potential for viral pandemics are very real and they have occurred in the past, but viruses don't supply a visible threat to shoot stab and bash, they lack the entertainment value of blood and gore that zombies provide...

as a apocalyptic scenario it would depend on the severity, but the with average person only 9 meals away from a starvation situation modern society is never far from collapse...

there is enough value in zombie apocalypse that it has generated University classes in "Zombie Apocalypse" which isn't really about zombies but civil collapse from any civilization ending catastrophe....

I don't believe that it would happen in such a way, the zombie thing is beyond fake to me.

It does protect you against small groups of Zombies and yet no one uses it. Guns ,which they have, protect you from other humans, food, which they have , protects you from starving.

yeah but its still super dangerous. y'all are making it out so that if you have just armor youd survive the zombie apocalypse 100% of the time. certainly not true

No thats not what I am saying. I am saying that if there was a Zombie apocalypse then wearing armour would be an extremely sensible move, especially when exploring and liable to come across small groups of Zombies.

I wasn't a fan of the last episode and Rick once again loosing it, his 12 year old son keeps his (*)(*)(*)(*) together better than his father. Loosing Daryl right before an imminent battle they will be sorely out numbered in, was a stupid move. Same with pushing Michonne "samurai warrior" out. Not sure I like Rick too much anymore.

Andrea, deserves whatever bad things come her way at this point. Can't come to grips with her reconciling with the looney-bin sheep leader after she learned the truth about what kind of man he is.

I wasn't a fan of the last episode either, but sometimes reality really sucks. It shouldn't surprise that Rick is losing it, considering what he's been through(in no particular order): He wakes up to an apocalyptic world, not knowing what happened to his family; finds wife & kid, but then finds out "best friend" screwed(& maybe impregnated) wife & tries to kill him & then has to kill "best friend"; Makes a somewhat humane decision to let "Andrew" survive on his own & it turns out to be a very bad choice & T-Dog & probably his wife die because of it; He doesn't make "peace" with his wife before she dies; His son has to "put down" his own mother; Now when he looks at the baby he's probably seeing Shane, whether she looks like him or not; And finally, his mind is playing tricks on him. I probably left some things out, but that's the gist of it.
It surely isn't looking good for the group, considering Carl may be the only real leader left. Hershel is wise, but onelegged, Glen is seeing red with revenge. The new group(in the prison) is just that, new, as well as Michonne. I don't think losing Daryl was Ricks fault, Merle is just too much of a maniac to bring back to the prison & Daryl made his own decision, but yea, that really hurt the group, losing him. I may the only one around who will actually give Andrea some props for her handling of the townspeople. I think she craves some "normalcy" so badly that she may think she can "fix" the Governor. We'll just have to see how it all shakes out.

How are you surprised at rick going looney? He stabbed his best friend to death for pete's sake while giving him peace talks at the same time then said he is ruling a dictatorship. he also stabbed a man in cold blood (granted the dude tried to push him into the zombies) but still he was just standing there. this is no surprise to me rick has been insane since almost the beginning.

I have been watching since the beginning, at first i loved it but ever since the beginning of season 2 the character development has honestly ruined everything. Daryl was the only thing that was keeping me in the show. I honestly wish they would continue the story by only keeping up with Daryl and Merle. I was so excited about Michonne at first, but now since 90% of her participation is giving a stupid ass look followed by complete silence every time the camera is on her im just annoyed by her. I liked Angela but now she has turned into the same typical moron woman who tries to make things work with a complete (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*).

I wish Carol would just die, she has been the same weak sour puss since her first appearance on the show. Besides i think i would throw up at the sight of her hooking up with Daryl, i was hoping Daryl would hook up with Angela because they would make a seriously great duo.

If i had my way i would kill off Rick,Carl, and Carol and have Tyreese take over the newly formed group.

guns might save you from imminent danger, but th downfall being that the noise they create attracts more and more zombies.

I agree. I wasnt excited for michonne i was against her from the start however. Because i knew this would come. I read all the comics and I knew how her character was. Defiantly NOT one that works well on screen. Shes a comic book superhero-esq character and has no place in a TV show that is somewhat supposed to be grounded in reality

I have watched it through the end of season 2- and I really don't know why.

Frankly these people don't show a lick of common sense ever. They all continue to just irritate the hell out of me.

How did they get the bright idea that when zombies attack the farm the smart thing was to drive in circles around them and shoot from a moving car?

There are moments I like- yes the show can really invoke true horror like when the zombie of the little girl showed up- but mostly it just irritates me.

But for some odd reason I keep thinking it will get better. I am watching it on netflix so thats as far as it goes right now and I hope I don't get sucked into the rest of the series.

depends on what kind of zombies you are dealing with. The zombies in this show are the typical moron zombie that are slow, weak and can be easily outsmarted for the most part. Now throw in some zombies that are like the ones from Dawn of the Dead which are fast as hell and as strong or stronger than any man then you are pretty much (*)(*)(*)(*)ed when being out in the open.

I agree. The season 2 finale was probably the worst episode of the series.....until the season 3 premiere. Its basically the same thing except its endless hand to hand zombie combat and this show honeslty has the WORST special effects of any show ive ever seen in the 21st century and its only worse when its hand to hand combat against zombies its not as bad when they use guns.

well i can tell you the 3rd season is 100 times better than season 2. I almost quit during the first half of season 2 because it was literally nothing but a bunch of boring ass dialogue and cry baby bull(*)(*)(*)(*). The third season has a good amount of action around every corner, but the character development is freaking retarded per usual. Its really a give and take show,if you can deal with the baseless conversations used to waste time then the action makes it pretty much worth it.

I think it would be a lot more interesting if certain characters were served up and a fresher line up took their spots. This group is seriously been over done.

I read the first compendium before the show started. I was excited for the show to start because I love zombies, survival horror and I enjoyed the book, though some of the characters annoyed me, as well, the plot.

I wish, overall, that Kirkman had more influence in the show, and that it followed more closely to the books. However, where I would modify things would be in Rick's mind and heart. He just does dumb (*)(*)(*)(*) in a zombie apocalypse.

I like that Maggie is good looking in the show.

Darryl is a good character to have in a zombie apocalypse.

The Governor is a great bad guy. Merle is a good tweener. And Andrea, she is just gullible and likes to associate herself with the bad guy.

hmmm....maybe your girlfriend doesn't LOVE the show, but enjoys the entertainment factor, some episodes are lame and boring and some are really good.......if the people considered and found a way around the zombie problem, well.........there would be no show lol. it's fiction silly, there aren't many shows out there on regular tv (that i've seen anyway) with the level of gore that this show has, and some people are into that kind of thing, and after a while you just get used to it. I think they probably started with it as a shock factor and then got good responses to it.

It's not bad and my gf is awesome so it's worth the suffering.. Lol . It's not a bad show, I guess I don't lime the fact that it strings you along slowly , and has this faux reality about it. It's considered one of the best shows on tv, I wish it didn't make me feel like zombie when watching it. Again, love my girl so worf it! She's awe..
