God is all powerful and all knowing, he knew we would judge him, and could have prevented us from doing so.

I believe that no one on this forum has attempted to interfere with your free will or your rights thereunder. So, think as you may see fit, speak as you see fit, and denounce as you see fit. It is all a matter of indifference to the rest of us as it does not affect us.

Freedom Seeker mentioned the Biblical flood was a lie in post #111. You replied to him by saying "The evidence for the great flood is there" in post #115. You didn't say "a" great flood but "the" great flood in responding to his remark about the biblical flood. You have now been slowly retracting your original response and I was simply clarifying your position.

You don't seem as indifferent as you claim.

That's fine but any comments I have made about the biblical Great Flood make it clear that there is no physical record that would support a flood of literally "biblical proportions" anywhere.

Attempts to justify the literal word of the bible are doomed to failure just as attempts to smear the bible, based on the folk tales of ancient peoples, are also doomed by being petty and mean spirited (from "enlightened" humanists, yet) when the true value of the bible is in it's moral teachings and it's revolutionary break with
the brutality of the Old Testament and the harsh ancient civilizations that came before Jesus.

Only little bitter people with little bitter spirits denounce Jesus because he was not perfect and was merely a product of the world he lived in. But Jesus was an outstanding teacher and moralist and helped rip the Western world away from the eye for an eye, kill you child for me world he was born into in to something far greater and more humane than any other human imaginable.

That is only due to your own personal perception of what I write.

On the contrary, calling Yahweh's bluff is an act of maturity. And a long (*)(*)(*)(*)ing overdue one at that. What rankles, I imagine, is the shock of hearing one's deity described thusly. Particularly when loved and respected authority figures taught that this deity is pure goodness. That can be damned painfull - and a hint of that pain can clearly be seen on the interviewer's face.

All I can do is repeat the Fry doesn't even believe in God so he might as well rail against the Easter Bunny because he gives kiddies tooth decay.
That's the level of reason, intelligence and emotional maturity that Fry is operating on.

    you're joking, surely?

no one was ever killed on behalf of the easter bunny, nor laws enacted, nor people oppressed, nor kids threatened with eternity in a lake of fire, nor 'witches' burned alive, nor schools teaching that the easter bunny is all you need - science be damned, no wars started, no demonisation of any who differ, etc etc etc, ad nauseum.

Fry understated the matter, if anything.

What about the FACT that sexual promiscuity produces Enormous Child Abuse and hurts little children???

Doesn't that FACT make it immoral even for Atheists to behave in ways which hurts others?

The problem with Fry is that he doesn't believe in Statistics.

If he had faith, he would just recognize that God says no to sexual misconduct.
But in ignorance of God, this Fry person at least ought see that half the kids in America are fatherless today, and being Child Abused because of that.

One can NOT be moral if he intends to do stuff which hurts others.

    sure, sure, sure,...

But half the kids everyday, today, especially in America, are fatherless suffering every form of Abuse because of that fact.

    ?
But you do recognize that Child Abuse follows from sexually promiscuous social behaviors.
    Right?

I mean, God seems so mean to Gays and the Harlots in the beauty salons and the fashion shops, etc,...
The God opposes their sexual expression.
But the kids who would be "saved" from the terrible child abuse is what this God is working for.

He is preventing these things by educating us with Christian principles, and waiting for us to read our own Lesson Books on the Stats about Child Abuse, etc.

Yet another showing of the existence of 'free will' and of Gods willingness to allow man to exercise that free will that man possesses.

Yep. You made those ''free will" choices because there was no alternative. You had to follow what is already known.

It affects nothing. God knows all and planned all. Nothing anyone does will ever change that. You agree.

Or that's all the level you're incapable of understanding. Meaning you don't understand anything the OP is referring to.

Even though they had to do it. Who can change any of God's plans? You? Anyone?

I'm sure a dodge is coming.

"nothing" is an absolute. Now you have made a positive assertion, yet you show no PROOF of claim. Shame shame.

All the while knowing what man will do before the stars even existed. LOL

Free will doesn't play well with pre-determination.

    - - - Updated - - -

Child abuse is commanded in the Bible, are you sure you should be using that as a guide for life? LOL

Or you are absolutely wrong and cannot refute a single thing I posted. That seems to be the level you are on.

Well if Fry had posted his rant during the Inquisition and called God a monster then (though zealots acting contrary to Christian principles of love and forgiveness can hardly be the fault of God) you, and Fry, would have a point.
But I look around and see no one being burned at the stake or any witches being hunted down and persecuted.

Where do you see such things? No wonder you defend Fry's juvenile rant...you make the same exact mistakes he does and blame God for the actions of foolish human beings.
How has the church and the people that support it stopped you from doing anything at all you want to do?
Or should your opinion be the only one that "counts" and gets listened to? That's very humanistic of you.

Why don't you guys pull your big boy pants up and start holding people responsible for the things that people do
and the positions they take? IS God a monster? Or are the zealots among us, like Stephen Fry for instance, the real source of misery and strife in this world?

Please explain exactly how foreknowledge equals
predetermination. If I know the choices you will make how am I directing those choices? You seem confused.
