Firstly I have truncated the newspaper caption for clarity.

Secondly, the report originally emanated from the untrustworthy Infowars - but has now been carried in the UK Daily Mail - itself not a paragon of journalistic virtue.

On the other hand Assange did recently place some very curious and suggestive posts on his Twitter page.

    ----

Unconfirmed reports are swirling that Trump is about to pardon Julian Assange, ending his highly questionable forced house arrest in the Ecuadorian London Embassy.

As we say in England, light the blue touch-paper and stand well back... :)

I would like to see assange pardoned, given he is a publisher, and certainly a part of the Press. And he could come to the US, go before congress, and give them the evidence his sources were not russia or russians in regards to last years leaks.

But imo, this is not what the liars in congress would tolerate, a truth teller among the lying vipers of congress. For it would show the People just how untrustworthy these scumbags are. And their willingness to lie to the People, as a matter of course.

Liberals may be for it if Assange put on a dress and makeup, but they'll never forgive him for exposing the DNC. They have no problem with Manning exposing US secrets and getting people killed, but the ELECTION?!!!

Agreed. But I would be a mite nervous for him given the unrequited hate for him in some US quarters. He would be better advised to give TV evidence from overseas, although I very much doubt Congress wouldn't even give him a chance to testify, or believe him if he did.

Yes, after all this is the man who hillary asked more than once, if we couldn't just drone him? Murdering a truth teller is what some in the gov't would have no qualms about doing. Good thing hillary got beat, for it may have saved the life of a journalist, who had the nerve to speak truth to power. Greenwald had to move to south america in order to be able to practice real journalism with journalistic standards. You know you lost a free press when things of this nature happen. It seems that speaking the truth in 2017 america is a revolutionary act which could very well put your life at great risk.

That is because they are not actually liberals, but faux liberals. Not only as the democratic party changed, into something other than it was, but they have even corrupted the term liberal so it no longer has it original meaning. Kinda like what they did with the term, "gay" Gay no longer means what it once did, in definition, and the same goes for the term liberal. Real liberals would defend the free press, defend that institution which is supposed to speak truth to power. And since clearly they do not do this, let us call them what they are. Faux, fake, ersatz, liberals. Assange is a genuine liberal, as is Greenwald. So the fake ones hate both.

"Julian Assange has no First Amendment freedoms. He's sitting in an Embassy in London. He's not a US citizen," Pompeo said...........

Too bad they don't send their
    (1) navy ship
up the Thames to secure their citizen.

Unleash the 'roos of War.

Remember when occasionally there was drama in the news.
Like Sadat's flight to Israel to address the Israeli Parliament.
Covered live from his take off through his landing,

and special dinner like a star. Golda Mair said, "what took you so long" and called him out on terming her "the old lady" in private conversions secured by Israeli intelligence. They all treated each other in friendship.

    The Brits just might agree under such drama;
supplying a Royal Guard to escort him to the waiting ship.

None that I am aware of.

Several years ago a report in the WaPo indicated that the DOJ probably wouldn't press charges and I haven't heard anything about a warrant being issued for his arrest.

At last we might get a straight answer to this question:

His fear of extradition to the US is nothing to do with Russian matters. It was to do with releasing cables relating mainly to the second gulf war notably the killing of some journalists by soldiers in a helicopter in Baghdad. He was US enemy number 1 with many right wing supporters until he gave out some dirt on Hilary

I suppose there are several options. The Espionage Act has been mentioned.

I can't imagine Assange spending five years confined in an embassy if he could not be charged with anything in the US. That stuff in Sweden was never what he was really afraid of.

IF this is the case.......one can then speculate that Trump is rewarding Assange for helping him win the election........which Assange did. What he published influenced the thinking of the US public. Technically, Trump would be in Assanges (and Russia's ) debt.

I hope it's true and we put an end to this nonsense. One problem though. Mueller would continue his quest to find an impeachable offense.

I don't see how he would fall under the Espionage Act, however I'm not a lawyer.

I think its because he encouraged Bradley Manning to steal all those classified files. But I'm not a lawyer either.

The investigation MUST c continue. Otherwise it is obstruction of justice....... and will look like a cover up. The way things are in Washington at the moment.......Chaotic....... this would only make things worse. Things are bad enough now.

The Fire and Fury release is confirming what most have observed about how the Trump regime is operating. Not on facts or evidence......but on a visceral (gut) response. His tweets are an example to the world as to his mental fitness. .The seed has been sown......and that bell cannot be unrung.

Most have viewed Trump with skepticism and caution.........and now that view will be extra skeptical

IF he is working at pardoning Assange........ who legally is wanted by US officials...........what does that ell everyone? about his decision making ability?? There is an autocratic quality to his actions (and views).....

Trump is irrational...(obvious to the public and the world)....Does not even take a professional psychiatrist to see this.. At the very least he is a stranger to FACTS.....and EVIDENCE. Some of the symptoms could a form of dementia. (poor impulse control. easily angered, Low frustration tolerance, memory issues, repeating himself. very basic and simplistic language, Manipulative, obvious biases, over reacting , poor concentration, (doesn't read) paranoia , impatience, believing someone is trying to poison him. Selective food intake.......Big Macs..... because it is pre prepared d at random. ( that fear of being poisoned)

obsession about sizes (my crowd size is the biggest , my nuke button is the biggest) Childlike (regressive behavior )

OK, so lets see what we have here:

*Infowars claims something based on a Wikileaks tweet that itself interprets a State Department tweet that makes no mention of Wikileaks. And then the Daily Mail re publishes that. Not a good start.

*Infowars claims the 'hidden message' in this tweet means that Trump has 'cleared a path' for Assange to leave the Ecuadoran Embassy, though there is no indication as to why a change of State Department policy would influence UK enforcement of a European arrest warrant.

*The OP then decides this indicates a 'pardon' for Assange, though he has not been convicted of anything.

If you want the definition of 'nothingburger' this is pretty much it.

That is not a crime. The New York Times did so with the Pentagon Papers.
