But the Samaritan treated and bound up the wounds, put the man on his own beast (likely a donkey pack animal), took him to an innkeeper, paid the innkeeper about a laborer's week's pay, told the innkeeper to care for the man, and that on his return trip he would repay the innkeeper for whatever else he had spent on the injured traveler.

The dismissal of traditions in the U.S. isn't based on typical rebellion of young people. It is typically fed by an innate belief that most American social traditions have been "bad" or "destructive". Look at the clowns in this thread bringing up spousal abuse and marital rape. As if that was ever any kind of social tradition or acceptable behavior.

My view is that family values began to lose its mojo many years ago. Reagan harped on family values continuously and Bush senior
talked about a kinder, gentler nation. Both presidents recognized what made us tick and encouraged those traditions. I don't know of anyone who wants to arbitrarily let people into our country. The problem is the tossing of immigrants who have been here forever, have
families, jobs, and who have been allowed to stay. The problem is the manner in which they are tossed, and the treatment that they have received in the process.
