...be fair and impartial to all regardless of race/political party/socioeconomic level/sexual orientation? Will they respect a woman's right to make decisions concerning reproduction?
Only time will tell. But, for some reason I don't feel hopeful right now.

They aren't supposed to be impartial, that's why the president gets to nominate his pick.

Its one of the checks the founders put in the constitution.

They intended the court to swing from left to right and back again just as our political system does.

It all works in tandem to ensure we never go too far in one direction yet always pass over middle ground.

The real problems arise when you have people like the Kennedy's breaking ranks and going to the other side.

That could lead to tyranny if it happens too much.

Turn off CNN and MSNBC - you'll feel better right away.

PS they promised wars, catastrophes, economic depression, Armageddon and the end of the world when Trump was elected and we are still fine..... Why are you still blindly believing the nonsense they spew?

If the angry birds took a moment, put down the signs made for them, and learned something about Kavanaugh, they would learn he has a solid view on court precedent. That means Roe v Wade is safe, as far as Kavanaugh is concerned.

The only reason someone should be concerned about the issues you mentioned is if the rulings involving the issue you raised were unconstitutional. The SCOTUS doesn't make laws, it reviews them against the Constitution.

Hyperbole is a poor basis to make life decisions and base outlooks on.

Supreme Court Judges are supposed to rise above partisan politics, no matter who nominates them.

The SCOTUS is supposed to interpret law as written not engineer society.

    No they aren't.

Where did you hear such a ridiculous thing?

Are you seriously telling me you expect them all to decide things exactly the same way?

They interpret the constitution based on their political beliefs, nothing else.

That is the way its designed to work.

Hell, if the constitution were clear we wouldn't even need a supreme court now would we?

So what do you suggest they base their decisions on if not politics?

So you are implying that all justices should always have unanimous votes if they all follow your criteria right?

Seems like we would only need one justice then don't ya think?

Well if they all are using morality, compassion and justice then how would some come to a different conclusion?

Are you saying they have different ideas of what compassion, morality and justice are?

Gosh, and where do you think those differences come from?

    Maybe their political beliefs?

    lol

Try to relax and turn of the doom and gloom news. All of it.

Also, the shredding of the Roe vs Wade decision has been moved to Wednesday, October 10th at 9:00 PM EST. and will be broadcast live on all networks nationally. After Kavanaugh shreds the 1973 ruling he will then set it on fire and dance around it while drinking a mixture of pigs blood and his favorite beer from a goblet fashioned from senator Ted Kennedy’s skull and yelling “suck on that bitches!!!”

I’ll be at a family event and will have to DVR it. Bummer.

Are people so misinformed or don't know history ?

Before Roe vs, Wade, abortion was legal in some states while illegal in other states., Something to do with "States Rights."

Before 1973 when a woman was knocked up in California and didn't want to give birth to the child she jumped into her car and drove to Reno or Las Vegas and had an abortion where it was legal.

Abortions in an alley is just cultural-marxist revisionism lie.

After donkey shows in Tijuana, the other reason why people went to TJ was because TJ was the cheapest place to get an abortion before 1973. It still is today.

What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas including aborted fetuses.

Roe vs. Wade is safe and will not whittled down.

Corporations will be given weight over citizens.

The real question will be the court's decisions on the unitary executive. imo, Kavanaugh and maybe one other will hold out for it but fail.

The court has never been "impartial". Why do you think the fight was so vicious? The Democrat judges vote lock step with the leftys while the Republicans kind of voted with the right. Kavanaugh and the right wing judges will vote in their opinions whats fair and constitutional. Maybe that means they see through the strawman argument "it's the womans body" and see the real argument of what about the babies body. Maybe theyll get the federal government out of it and itll go to the states. But dont pretend this confirmation was any different than with Kagan or Sotomayor, both hard left ideologues.

Geezus OP! You are acting like Kavanaugh is going to make law the minute he is seated on the bench. It doesn't work that way! Learn yourself something will ya?

Add that stupid statement to your growing list

They're SUPPOSED to interpret the Constitution based on that document and the law.

That works if you can afford it. If not? And what happens when the anti-abortion forces start focusing on those few states that allow abortions? They absolutely will you know

The lie is in your statement. Back alley abortions DID occur...for the poor...and many women were maimed or killed by them.

So your argument is that if tomorrow, the American Communist party takes the White House and the Senate in the popular vote, and they declare that all individual rights are hereby rescinded in favor of the demands of the state, that the Justices should go with that popular political stance and not the guarantees of the Constitution? Crazy town.
