Columbus Police Fatally Shoot Black Teen Who Called Them for Help, Aunt Says

Her tweet makes it sound as if it's a normal weekend activity to run around stabbing people. Maybe it is it for some people. Bryant's foster family seemed rather unconcerned that she was trying to stab people.

 

Sounds like it to me. I don't like many cops, but Nicholas Reardon's actions yesterday were heroic. He saved a life from a criminal.

 

What the hell is going on? Police cannot shoot people committing crimes, with the exception of White people, then it's cool, because their lives don't "matter".

Did you see the other day when Burn Loot Murder was geared up for another riot after they got notice that someone had been shot while carjacking a women at gunpoint and shooting at police, only to leave when they found out the criminal scumbag was White?

You've been arguing about how you disagree with the cop's actions and I think his actions were correct. So let's say he used an alternative method, like the taser you mentioned. What if it didn't work, it bounced off the girl because one of the barbs hit a button or something, then what? Or maybe the cop should have waited for the social workers to arrive. If the cop did anything less than what he did and the girl got sliced and died, how much would you blame the cop and how many millions would you offer the dead girl's family as a settlement?

I have a feeling that no matter what the cop did you'd find something wrong.

 

Terrorist cells always ave a command structure but tracking it down takes determination, talent, and resources. Our law enforcement has the first two, but authorization to devote resources into exposing the various BLM/ANTIFA terrorist cells is never given in the places where they operate - and they know this.

On the subject of tazers, here's (graphic) video of another shooting in Texas last week. The officer attempted to deploy a tazer, and - shocking I know - it didn't stop the attack.

Watching this video over and over I feel so bad for that tiny dog the almost-murdered lady in the pink jumpsuit dropped when the shooting started. He got dropped on the ground, looks like he might have been stepped on, and when he gets up you can see this look of pure fear as he limps off. I hope that puppy is alright.

No, sadly, the kicker has not been arrested or charged yet. On the plus side, the interim chief said in his press conference (see Post #104) that after BCI finished interviewing the witnesses, they would investigate whether additional charges might be appropriate.

 

Finally got a chance to see the slo mo video. If anyone thinks the cop did anything wrong, then I don't believe there's any help for you that would help you overcome your hatred for cops.

 

While I certainly wouldn't argue in favor of this young lady's intelligence-- I mean, she calls the police & then grabs a knife?-- I would probably attribute her recklessness to not having control of her emotions. But whichever of those is the case, is of little consequence.

I see it as a false choice between the officer standing around & doing nothing, or else lethally shooting the assailant. From that close range, could he not put a bullet in her not-thin thighs (note the crosshairs, in the pictures, above), which certainly would have been sufficient to get her attention & allow the other girl to escape?

Also, the peoples' ignoring of the cop is not just a commentary on them, but a reflection on his ability to take control of a situation. I didn't hear him announce his presence. Hell, shooting his weapon straight up in the air, while not an ideal solution, is preferable to not being able to get anyone to pay him much mind (l would suggest, if you have to put shy, unimposing cops on the force, giving them a blanks-firing gun, just to get the attention of unruly folks, but we would then, no doubt, have accidental killings by cops who mixed up their guns).

I know I will be charged with armchair policing, but I do believe in doing well, any job I take on. So, a cop who excelled at his job, IMHO, should have been able, in the assailant's first appearance, when she was coming right in the cop's direction, and lunged at her 1st target, right in front of him, to deploy his police BATON, instead of his gun, & subdue the girl with that.

 

Notice the knife? This is a good shoot.

I’m slightly surprised how many on Twitter are calling it racism.
And we know if he did nothing and she killed that other girl, that’d be racist too.

 

My second thought after "well they were both black, so how can anyone call it racism?" was to wonder if this was a set-up. The potential stabbing victim seemed to run like a rabbit after.

Yes, yes the cop should have just called the mental health people. Then they could have come and scooped up the carnage since the stabbing would have been long over.

My biggest concern is that if unreasonable people are allowed to make a thing of this, it will be a clear message that cops aren't welcome to come into black neighborhoods. Not to protect potential stabbing victims even. It's a message which will be promptly obeyed I suspect. I feel for the regular folks who live in these neighborhoods. They should expect to defend themselves.
