Wow: Atlanta PD reinstates police officer charged with murder -- with back pay?

This is the Rayshard Brooks case in Atlanta. He had gotten control of a taser and pointed it at officers. How will this work out:

 

I would say all police officers are not being granted their rights of due process.

 

Well, you know. It's just another story about our "woke" justice system where one is guilty until one is proven innocent.

The Atlanta PD and Atlanta Civil Service Board must have come to the conclusion that this "murder" was justifiable self-defense after reviewing the video.

There will still be a lot of angry people out there because of this reinstatement though.

 

Whether he is guilty of murder or manslaughter or... whatever the case may be, is yet to be determined. But the guy is clearly a lousy cop. For that alone he should be fired.

 

Sounds like they caved in to the coercive threats and actions of the police union.

 

Don't steal a taser and point it at the cops, and your odds of getting shot drop dramatically.

 

Threats no doubt based upon the evidence of the footage showing defensive actions, and upon the basic concept of American justice that all people are innocent until proven guilty. As opposed to the threats that got the officer fired in the first place; threats based on purely fabricated easily debunked myths about racial injustice, pimped to hysterical fanatics resulting in mass destruction, looting, arson, violence, and big fat pay-days for Marxists.

 

If you don't resist arrest and follow the commands of police, the odds of you not dying go down too

 

Cops will be afraid of getting sued for what ever they do. That's what's gonna happen. You're going to have police forces made up of McDonalds drive thru rejects with guns. This is what you voted for hard and in your face.

 

Good. Let them carry private malpractice insurance. They can pay through their local police union. That way the union can bear the brunt of bad cops' behavior in the wallet.
Once that happens, you'll be amazed how fast bad cops get thrown off the force.

What I've noticed about the cop haters is that they don't put on body armor before they kiss their wives goodbye and go to work not knowing if they'll ever come home again. When the cop haters start running towards the gunfire rather than from it, then they can criticize the cops. Until then they're nothing but arm chair Monday morning quarterbacks who watched the game in their parent's basement.

Or they were too quick to cave to BLM without affording the officer the administrative process he was entitled to. From what I recall of this particular case, it is a close call in my book as to whether or not that shooting was justified. I don't mind that they are putting it to a jury and I also don't mind that he be afforded a living until the jury decides.

 

Good to hear, he was probably taking legal action against them and they were forced to take him back.

 

Being that it's Atlanta, GA there's probably a few Black members on the Atlanta Civil Service Board, guess they'll now be known as Uncle.....

 

They had to reinstate him. They literally had zero choice. The law provides him Due Process. He received none, as admitted by the Mayor. They just wanted to stop any riots so they canned him without going through the legal process. Now that things have cooled down a bit, they had to re-instate. We'll see what the real process has in store for him.

Who here realizes how dangerous my above paragraph is for the United States? We actually had a major city bow to the mob in fear of burning. That's who we have become thanks to Leftists. We actually don't follow the law out of fear.

Screw Rayshard Brooks, the guy was a POS and his death is a gift to society. All I needed to see was his crimes included Felony Cruelty to Children. Rayshard Brooks will not be terrorizing kids ever again and that's a good thing.

The charges to which Brooks pleaded guilty and for which he was still on probation dated back to August 2014 when he was convicted on four counts – False Imprisonment, Simple Battery/Family, Battery Simple and Felony Cruelty/Cruelty to Children.
