9/11 had global implications, they are not even comparable.

Well maybe I misread something or misunderstood the video but I thought we were discussing the flight that crashed in Pennsylvania that some theorize was targeting OUR Capitol; not the day generally.

I didn't say that I think the Capitol riot was on par with 9/11. I said that you didn't have to suggest someone is mentally ill if they did believe that.

The last sentence in this post (below) directly states that I should get some perspective which means you perceived *my* earlier post to be out-of-perspective. Without that sentence, your post is generic. With it, it's specific toward me. You have a good grasp of the English language. I'm pretty sure you know how it works.

On both days, people watched in horror. A pit in their stomach. In disbelief. Waiting for the other shoe to drop. And for the Capitol Police and local police who were beaten and tazed, I'm sure it felt like their own personal 9/11. I, personally, didn't draw parallels, but I do see how others could. Like another poster, though, I feel the repercussions of 1/6 continue on. We have a large number of people who refuse to acknowledge the day as anything other than a day out for tourists. And for others, it was an attack on the very core of our democracy. And when told that 1/6 was a nothing burger, I feel very much like I am talking to a 9/11 conspiracy theorist...telling me that it wasn't what I saw.

I don't believe the Capitol riot was "worse" than 9/11 relative to the body count and depravity. However, I think it's caused more damage to our country as a whole.

 

I can't think of the name of it but I saw this movie with Richard Gere years ago. His character's wife comes home to find another woman in their bed with him. She starts to storm out and he races after her asking her something like "Are you going to believe what I tell you or your lying eyes?" I think of that every time people start spinning and reinventing history.
