Democrats won't touch Gun control for Criminals, by prosecuting, locking them up or executing them for Gun crimes, but for responsible legal gun owners, they want to take every right for gun ownership they have.

 

The problem with this statement is that it looks to mental health as a panacea. The US spent more than half of the last century treating mental illness by locking people up in state-sponsored asylums, subjecting them to treatments that at times were barbaric. This legacy is still in our collective memory.

What is needed is a complete revamping of how we approach healthcare and having mental illness be treated on par with physical health. Such an ambitious project will take years for it to be created, and possibly decades to be effective. Mental health is only a portion of the reforms that is needed to drastically change the trajectory of America's gun violence.

 

True mental health recovery requires helping instill discipline in people that can then be used to create various improvements in their own lives and creating long term mental health benefits.

Most of our physicians would rather just give out some pills. Then blame police when it doesn’t work and action has to be taken to protect people.

If the shooter had been a male that was White, they would have immediately released that information, so you can safely assume that the person who committed this heinious mass shooting is NOT! White, but of some other race.

You can ASSUME anything you want, but they release the info saying the guy was Asian man between 30 and 50-years-old. Why is that offensive? I read the FOX take on it, they they referred to him simply as "male". Could it be so that people like you can make their assumptions based on that? If so, it worked, because you did fall for it.

I made my post when all they mentioned was that he was a male, so obviously if they knew that, they knew what he looked like and most likely his race. We've seen this time and time again where when it's a known White shooter, his race is immediately released, but anyone else they wait. Don't even pretend they don't do that, because most of the media will try their best to spin it as White Nationalism or the BS that most mass shootings are perpetrated by white men when we know that they're not.
