Assault pistol is what the police are calling it. Maybe because it IS an assault pistol.

And, BTW, a pistol that may be illegal in California, according to the police.

whites do have the highest rate of legal gun ownership but far lower rates of gun violence than some other prominent ethnic groups who don't have as many legal guns

It might be an illegal pistol in California but it doesn't fit the description as an actual assault pistol.

Can you explain what an assault pistol is? Is it the same no matter where you’re standing?

Who in 2023 is still using the word "orientals?" Most people these days just say "Asian" and be done with it.

At this point in my life, I've just resigned myself to the fact that mass shootings are just inherently in our nature as Americans. It's not the guns or gun laws, it's just that that's who we are as a people.

It's a term that doesn't properly apply to semi auto firearms. The California code caused the US Olympic trials to move out of the 1984 Olympic games venue because that stupid state's definitions banned one of the types of pistols used only in high level international competition because the definition deemed it an "assault weapon"

That's funny because the only description that has been given at this point is that it's an assault pistol.

The United States has an estimated 400,000,000 guns in private hands.

Last year there were 19,000 murders in The United States. That means that .0005% of the guns in the country were used in a murder. Show us any other country that can match that same ratio.

Sure. Anything lawmakers decide to call an assault pistol.

    Any more questions?

There's no such thing as an "assault pistol". It's just another made up term used to scare people like you.

Are you admitting that they're lying when they used made up nomenclature?

It's actually being "out of the mothball" verbiage, a "Short barreled rifle/SBR"! Anti gunners already smell chum in the water :)

over 80% of gunshot murders are perpetrated by people who cannot legally possess the firearm they use for the killing and about 80% of those killed are also felons or people currently engaged at the time in felonious activities. When you count juvenile offenders, the percentages increase. that leaves less than 3000 firearms related murders a year by those who legally possessed the firearm at the time of the killing. 400 million firearms and well over 100 million lawful owners-the numbers of deaths from gunshot are statistically irrelevant. yet gun banners are attacking legal gun owners and not the criminals. This is why I have claimed-for decades-that gun banners are all about banning legal gun ownership and not stopping crime

your subservience to definitions created by democrat politicians is touching. Of course those same politicians claim Joe Biden was the best they could find so it makes sense

    Hi Torus,

No. Guns can only stop violent criminals in the act when they are handy.

Regards, stay safe' well ... 'n un-shot, and start carrying a concealed handgun -- if you can do that without violating the law. :)

if the Supreme court actually follows its own rulings-from Miller in 1939 to the recent Bruen case, this law will be eviscerated

Sure, a real answer since they gave it a name? If you can name it you can point to it, or are you just gonna hide behind that imaginary answer?

gun banning democrats want to ban as many firearms as possible without getting reamed out by the courts. so they use dishonest scary terms to chip away on what guns honest folks can own.

Well they are already lawyering up! The SBR act is pretty clear, and if they classify it as such you will need the same stamp and the weapon will fall under a full auto ATF regulations..

They could possibly have a crack to squeeze thru here!!

how does it save lives? gun banners never explain how if a law against murder-complete with a life sentence or execution, does not deter a person from committing murder, how will a gun ban law, with much shorter proposed penalties, deter that same person?

24 years as a federal prosecutor: those who follow minor league stupid laws like gun bans do not engage in serious felonious conduct

those who engage in serious felonious conduct don't give a rat's ass about lesser included offenses
