I get the feeling you’re trying to insult and fight. I’ve had guns for over 40 years now and have 4 today. Can’t you tell from post 120 that I’m not ignorant of the issue?

confiscated? LOLOLOL, you mean we should deny 170 million americans their 2a rights because some clowns can't act right? that'd kill more people than die of cancer in a year, what a childish idea. confiscated, jesus what a hoot.

when you say things like "confiscate" and "designed to kill people" and "weapons of war" which has primarily used by people who have no idea what they're talking about. those are buzzwords of the uninformed, and the mere idea of confiscating something from 99.99% of legal and normal people because .01% of people are shitheads is silly beyond recognition. does that make any sense?

You should ask questions before you go on with BS assumptions and accusations. I advocate a buy-back program for assault weapons. THAT is the “confiscation” I referred to. But you didn’t bother to inquire. You apparently would much rather assume and accuse.

Who's money do you intend to buy back firearms with?

Because, if it is taxpayer money they are buying back the citizens guns with the citizens own money. Besides, I did a backround check on our government. With their history of violence and abuse government did not pass and I can't sell guns to them. Sorry.

When you object to ideas that offend you.
When you post silly thoughts that represent nothing useful.
When you have a fit over common issues.

Did you notice something shared by your quoted words and my three lines? None of them say anything because none of them are sentences.

Yeah, objection to “buzzwords” is a talking point of the right when they want to dodge and avoid a conversation that is too difficult for them.

Armed party-goers resulting in a shoot-out is pretty strong proof that things have gone too far, and the right was warned long ago about it. And now, they have no solution other than the stupidity of a call for “MORE GUNS!"

Buy back? Are you claiming the government sold it to me in the first place?

You mean confiscation. Confiscation violates the 2nd amendment. Get a constitutional amendment, and we'll STILL tell you to get bent.

no one is gonna sell their guns to the gov. I mean, the current gun buy backs have been a total failure since no one with a brain is giving the gov a perfectly good gun. a buy back is not a confiscation. it's not even close, and there is no motivation to give something up if it's not a problem now is it? this is the whole "cutting off your johnson to prevent rape" thing.

you do know who is committing over half of these murders, right? you do know who did that shooting at a party, right? those people are not legal owners (the kids) and the culture is to blame for why they're killing each other so often. blame those responsible.

you're using one instance to dictate a "solution" that puts 99.99% of legal gun owners cannot be taken seriously. those idiots shoot each other every week here in Houston and in other parts of the country.

why not just go get their guns since they're the problem? attacking normal people is cowardice.

I think Biden should issue an executive order keeping criminals locked up and not let back out in a constantly revolving door which even can include no bail.

Huh? You’re rationalizing a story was I wrong had been

I notice that if you disagree with an idea you do your best to confuse it, take it to an absurd extreme, and gripe.

Just because some degens misuse weapons is no reason to punish the law abiding people, 99.99% of which are just normal people. I have no idea where you’re getting anything absurd from that or anything else I’ve said, but ok.

All those are great ideas -- as long-term goals. It doesn't address the current crisis.

Too many people are reaching for a weapon at the first inkling of FEAR. No one is saying that it is any one particular issue, but easy access to highly efficient weapons has got to be first on the list. If it is left to the NRA, they would rather put vending machines outside liquor stores.

But it’s a great excuse to extend government control and take charge of people’s lives and what they can own, earn and save. I have never understood the left’s obsession with controlling the lives of peaceful, law abiding people.

I guess it’s initially driven by the desire to reform society. But once they get to Washington it’s all about money, power and staying on top. I guess the true believers think that the corrupt mess in Washington can reform society and the world, but for the Biden’s, Clinton’s, Schumer’s Sanders’ and a host of other politicians, it’s about stuffing their pockets and getting more powerful. For those folks, idealism was left behind years ago.

You know what might help in the short term? Tonning down the idiotic rhetoric. Like what you just said here in bold. You know darn well that is not something that they would ever do or advocate for. The NRA is not some evil organization that only cares about money and guns. And there is no crisis. Something that affects less than .01% of the population is not and has not EVER been considered a crisis. Yes, it sucks that people die. It sucks that there are horrible people out there. Beyond sucks actually. And there are no words to adequately express how much it sucks. But it is not a crisis by any stretch of the imagination. You can ignore that fact if you wish. But facts don't care about feelings.

If you well and truly want to reduce or stop the violence then you need to start being honest and realistic and stop letting your emotions rule how you treat millions upon millions of people.

I'm being perfectly serious. You use terms that don't reflect the real world circumstances because you're basically being underhanded and are unwilling to simply say what you want.
This is because you are aware if you simply came out and said it, you'd not have too many takers.

Try asking questions when you don’t understand. That would be refreshing. Gun buy-backs are backed up with a deadline, after which if you’re caught with a banned item there is a very significant penalty. The “real world circumstance” you’re referring to included another shooting overnight in New Mexico where the perp was walking down the street just shooting at anyone he saw as he went. This has gone too far and it is the right and their Republican criminals who are to blame for the whole thing. We need a 60-day buyback of any firearm with a magazine capable of holding more than 5 rounds, a removable magazine, and I would even go for all semi-autos, in addition to selected bullet calibers. Then after the 60-day period, if anyone is caught with a banned gun and who has not notified the local authorities of the reason for not meeting the deadline, the penalty needs to be “cruel and unusual”, like a $20,000 fine and 20 years in prison.

I think that kind of penalty would be persuasive. Of course groundwork needs to be laid first.

Again I ask the simple question: Are you saying they sold it to me in the first place?

What you want is wildly unconstitutional. Not the least of which because you specify the punishment needs to be 'cruel and unusual'.

Take a good look at this post people. The person who posted the above quoted post OPENLY wants to take whatever property he feels necessary and intentionally apportions cruel and unusual punishment for gainsaying his will.
THAT is what you're dealing with and THAT is why we don't make deals with grabbers.

Yes, it is clear that gun grabbers think with their emotions and without reality in mind. IE: Irrationally. Making deals with irrational people is not something any sane person would do.
