Yup, wasn't it 14 days out that he agreed to? But, when he did, Mayweather switched it up again... How is it that Pacquiao robbed the fans!? He agreed to the blood testing, not 7 days out like Floyd changed it to, but 14 days... what's the problem? And as far as power, you can't tell me Floyd has a power advantage... the height's not to different (only 1 1/2 in.), though Floyd does have a 5" reach on Pacquiao... but Pacquiao has fought guys with longer reach, and still manages to get inside and do what he does... Floyd Mayfeather needs to stop ducking... Peace. E
Agreed. It's obvious that Mayweather and camp are highly concerned about his legacy, and how just about every other accomplishment will inevitably take a back seat to a loss to Pacquiao (if a loss occurs). What he may not realize is that being labeled a "ducker" is a much worse bullet point on the legacy sheet.
Now, a loss to Pacquiao would be a negative, since he ducked for so long... prior to all that BS, a loss to Pacquiao wouldn't have looked so bad... I mean, what shame is there in losing to a fighter of Pacquiao's caliber? None... Peace. E
Yep. If he doesn't fight Pacquiao, he will be remembered similarly to how Larry Holmes is remembered. A great fighter who never fought another great fighter in their prime, so just how great they are is hard to gauge. PS. Though to be fair to Holmes, his prime did not really coincide with any other great heavyweight, so it isn't really his fault. Where as Mayweather has consistently dodged difficult fights.
Larry Holmes never fought a great fighter in his prime? Really? Ken Norton, Trevor Berbick, Mike Tyson, Leon Spinks, Gerry Coony, Tim Witherspoon, Carl Williams, Michael Spinks, Evander Holyfield, Oliver McCaill, etc... Never heard any of those guys?
Mike Tyson and Holyfield yes. Norton was a good, but not great fighter. The rest, are you out of your mind?? And Holmes lost to both Tyson and Holyfield, but did so when he was way past his prime. Holmes was undefeated until he was 36, but he never fought anyone. When he finally did, he lost, but he was already past his best by that time. This is not a criticism I came up with, it is an opinion held by most boxing experts.
All of those boxers I listed had fine to great careers back in their day. Most fighters would kill to have the careers and success of everyone I listed. And no. Your opinion is not the consensus among boxing experts. Not even remotely close. Sorry, brother.
Pacquiao never agreed to random testing up until fight night. NEVER. That's a fact man. Saying you need a 14 day window with no testing is extremely suspicious to say the least. Pacquiao has never fought someone with the boxing ability of Floyd. The only person that came close was Marquez, and many believe he beat Pacquiao at the very least in one of their fights. Whether you agree or not doesn't matter as Floyd is not only bigger and faster than Marquez, he's also as least as good of a technician as Marquez (if not superior overall). So add the 1 1/2" height and 5" reach advantage and matching speed to Marquez and you come out with a LOSS for Pacman.
No it isn't!! Not for anyone who understands anything about how steroids work, seeing how he would have to be tested after the fight as well. There is no way to get onto steroids and then off again in that time period, and to gain any benefit whatsoever. It wouldn't do a thing for him. It is just a lie perpetuated by the coward Floyd, and unthinkingly repeated by Floyd sycophants!! http://www.steroidportal.com/s-How-long-do-steroids-stay-detectable-in-your-system-.html Look at that list. Almost every type of steroids in existence stays in your system longer than 2 weeks, so a 2 week grace period is not suspicious in the least bit.
Are you high? Leon Spinks was a fantastic boxer. He was an Olympic gold medalist and beat Ali, stopping Alis streak after running through Foreman, Frazier, Norton, and Shavers. Holmes also stopped Ray Mercers underrated streak while Mercer was in his prime. Trevor Berbick, Ken Norton? Good grief Frodly
You should read up on HGH. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000d5d81910361/article/new-method-of-detecting-hgh-in-blood-could-be-available-soon Detection time is much less than anabolic steriods.
Oh good grief. They tests for a lot more than steroids. Cutting agents, adulterants, roid masks, hydroxycut, etc. Steroids make up a small fraction of banned substances. And yes, it's extremely suspicious.
Spinks was 26-17 in his career!! That is great in your estimation? Good grief Kronik!! Ray Mercer was a great fighter? You guys are out of your minds!! I mean Good Grief Kronik!! Ken Norton was a very good fighter, but was already 35 by the time Homes beat him. It is also a stretch to say he was a great fighter. And Trevor Berbick??? Good grief Kronik.
Once more, what substance could you take for a week that is going to give you a serious edge? Honestly? You guys are bordering the ridiculous now!! You can take steroids to influence a fight in a week, and Trevor Berbick is a great fighter!!
You sound very naive on drug use in boxing. Just off of the top of my head - hydroxycut to cut the weight easily and Xb to mask HGH use.
yes, he was great for his time unless you think scrubs can beat Muhammad Ali in a 15 round fight or win the HW titles. Ummm, yeah. He was the WBO and IBF HW champion, and an Olympic gold medalist. I guess they just hand those out like candy, huh? Ken Norton was a very good fighter, but was already 35 by the time Homes beat him. It is also a stretch to say he was a great fighter. And Trevor Berbick??? Good grief Kronik.[/QUOTE] Trevor Berbick was a extremely dangerous fighter. I can only laugh when you talk about boxing legends like scrubs and call one of the best Pound for pound fighters in the world a coward. You're super hard dude.
Frodly is the same guy who told me Marquez would give Mayweather a fight and said after that fight He would pick Mayweather to beat Pacquiao...so take this and that with a grain of salt.
The precedence for this kind of fight was already made in Hopkins vs Trinidad, and Holyfield vs Tyson. I've got Mosley by decision, and Gunny's profile pic ready.
I would have been right, had Floyd not cheated(you know actual documented cheating, not fictional made up cheating) and made the weight set in the contract. Marquez was never going to beat him, and I said as much. I just said I thought it would be a close fight. After Mayweather cheated, that was never going to happen. Without having to make the weight, he was FAR too big for Marquez. PS. I think I would pick Mayweather to beat Pacquiao, I don't see what that has to do with anything. I think Mayweather would win a close decision, but I don't know because Mayweather is a coward who has avoided the fight!! I know Mayweather is a great fighter, that does not stop me from also knowing he is a woman beating, fight dodging, dooche bag!!
