If you have Filipino friends, try to watch the next Pacquiao fight with them. It's like a religious experience. Every moment is extremley tense and one of extreme joy or extreme worry. If he's likely to lose, though, expect much wailing and gnashing of teeth. Still, lots of good food and fun.

I never cared much for boxing, but watching his fights with my wife's family is a great pleasure.

Bwahahaha...you had to have known I would come back and laugh at this post after the fight. Even if Ortiz had gotten up after the knockdown, the fight would have been 40-34 going into the 5th round. Ownage.

MMA fighting is boring to me for that very reason. Stand up and throw, that is fun.. rolling around choking and maybe tossing in a weak punch puts me to sleep.

Exactly, I learned the same thing fro my Tae Kwon Do instructor. An open palm shot with all your power to the nose will incapacitate or cripple most men, and if that fails, a knife hand chop to the throat has never failed. I saw a 5'2" guy put down a guy who was over a foot taller and weighed twice as much with a knife hand chop to the throat.

I'll take an open palm strike anyday over a broken hand.

Your TKD teacher was a fool. It's takes less than 10 lbs of pressure to break a nose, which means just about any shot thrown that connects directly with the nose will break it. Secondly, if you throw a opened handed strike at someone, it better be a sucker punch that you know is going to land, because any shot outside of the nose or throat with your open hand is irrelevant. I don't even know why I'm arguing this anymore, there have been half a dozen shows that already showed the force difference, ability to cut, and probability of breaking your hand. It's a dead issue.

You are absolutely right Kronik. Anyone who thought Ortiz had a chance was deluding themselves. There is 1 fighter in the world who can beat Mayweather, and Mayweather is being a (*)(*)(*)(*)(*) and refusing to fight him.

PS. I mean actually beat him. I suppose any decent professional fighter if they got incredibly could land a really big shot and knock Mayweather out, but it is unlikely. Pacquiao is the only fighter in the world who could consistently give mayweather a good fight over the course of say a trilogy. Now if only Mayweather would stop ducking him, we could have an all-time great fight. Instead Mayweather knows Pacquiao is the only fighter capable of really challenging him, so he won't fight him. Mayweather only fights good fighters when he is convinced they are washed up(De La Hoya and Moseley are perfect evidence of this).

Perhaps the stars will line up just right and we'll get to see this fight. I dont think I've ever wanted a fight to happen more than Mayweather vs Pacquiao in my life. I don't know who would win, but it would be one hell of a fight. Did you happen to catch the Ortiz fight Saturday?

I didn't. I wasn't going to shell out 50 dollars to watch a fight I knew would be predictably 1 sided, and I had plans that night as well. Was there anything worth watching?

It is now 2015 and I would like to see Ronda Rousey take on Mayweather.
